Llegamos al aeropuerto de Amritsar desde Kullu. Aunque era verano (monzón para ser precisos), esperábamos un clima caluroso. Los billetes de avión económicos ofrecidos por Alliance Air (a partir de 1365 INR) nos incitaron a hacer un viaje a Amritsar.

Llegamos y nos registramos en nuestro hotel y esa misma noche reservamos un taxi hasta la frontera de Wagah por Rs 1500/-, que nos recogió en nuestro hotel cerca de Ghee Mandi.

La ciudad de Amritsar está situada alrededor del majestuoso Templo Dorado, el lugar de peregrinación sij más importante del mundo. Pero eso no es todo: hay muchas otras cosas que hacer en Amritsar.
Situada en el estado de Punjab, Amritsar tiene apenas 2,5 millones de habitantes.

Antes de explorar las muchas cosas que hacer en Amristar, mencionemos la rica historia de la ciudad. Hace más de 500 años, la tierra sobre la que está construida Amristar fue comprada por 700 rupias.
