Transcript
00:00We're joined by Regan Nutting near couch, second year in a row you two boys have led the group to a premiership, three in a row.
00:08First of all Regan mate, it was an incredible game of footy to watch, what was it like playing?
00:13Oh definitely hard mate, we knew we had it for us, we had a few sore boys coming in.
00:18But the thing about us, I know we've got a bit of heart and in the end you showed us boys, we've stuck around for enough now and long enough.
00:24We know what everyone does and yeah mate it was just a top win, I can't believe it to be honest.
00:28Didn't all go to play in the first quarter, Merivale probably had a tendency over the contest.
00:34What do you think kind of shifted the momentum of the game after the first quarter?
00:39Oh yeah definitely, we knew that was going to be the case coming in, we know they're a really good contestant side.
00:44But our mids, we knew they just had to get in there and do it.
00:47We've got some quality mids as well like Johnny and Danny Crave and them boys have been doing it for years.
00:51We knew if we kept the pressure on they'd turn the footy over and in the end we just got on the outside and got the job done so it was good.
00:58Nick you're bow out now mate as a dual premiership coach, obviously one as a player, two as a coach.
01:04What does this one mean to you mate, it must have been a hard stop before you but to come out with another flag must mean a lot to you.
01:11Yeah I think it was the way we went about it, they got the jump on us, got three goals down, slowly caught it back.
01:18The plan when we came in was to try and go around Manny and they executed it, we kicked short, we went around them.
01:25So it's a privilege to coach these boys because they're really coachable.
01:29It was an easy decision to coach, probably an easy one to retire, I've sort of had enough.
01:35But these boys will keep a special part of my heart for the rest of my life, they're great to coach.
01:41A lot of those little moments probably decided the game late.
01:45I mean it could have gone either way at certain points.
01:48What do you think kind of makes this group so special in those really, really key moments of Grand Finals?
01:56Just staying invested for the 120 minutes, not to lapse.
01:59The player arrived, Jackson Couch asked him to run a bloke down, runs Gleeson down in the middle of the ground,
02:06Lloydy taking marks, so if we didn't have the pressure on the ground it didn't let Lloydy come into the play.
02:12So if everyone does their little bit, it makes everyone look good.
02:16Good stuff boys, congratulations, I'll let you guys get back to it.
