00:00Hello everybody, Toreno here, and today we're on the Dance of Dragons dev server,
00:04we're taking a look at a new Japanese coastal vessel, the PT-802, which is coming in at rank
00:102 between the Type T38 and the Type K3 No. 1. So the armament on this is a little bit mixed,
00:18so you've only got the 140mm gun, so that's going to be quite effective against hard targets, so
00:25it's got a fairly good penetration, 69mm at 500m, and it also comes with HE shells,
00:31so it should be good against both armoured and soft skin targets, but you don't have any faster
00:37firing weapons like 20mm autocannons, so you have only got the Bofors, and it is mounted at the rear
00:42of the vessel, so if you're charging at an enemy to fire your torpedoes, it's going to be in a bit
00:47of a blind spot, but if you're trying to get away from enemies, you can just fire away at will.
00:52And then your secondary armament is the Type 54 torpedoes, so they've got a range of 6km,
00:58they're not the fastest in the world, only 27.6mph, but you can also fit these T37
01:06rocket or mortar launchers that are at the front of the vessel here, and they've got quite a bit
01:10of explosive content, so 25kg of TNT equivalent can penetrate up to 65mm of armour, so if you can
01:18get close into some more heavily armoured targets, like maybe cruisers or the like, you could do a
01:24fair amount of damage with them, or if you get against a soft skin vehicle or destroyer or
01:28something, and manage to get some hits on them, you'll do some decent damage there as well.
01:33Of course it's unarmoured, it's got a top speed of 27.6mph, and you've got a crew of 18,
01:39so this seems like an okay vessel. It does of course fill in the gap between the T38 and the K3,
01:45so the T38 has torpedoes and one 25mm cannon, the K3 has a 40mm cannon as well,
01:54and three 25mm guns, but no torpedoes, although that can be fitted with depth charges.
02:00And of course there was a 1.3 gap between those two vessels, so adding the PT-802 does help fill
02:06that gap in. I haven't got very far on the Japanese coastal tech tree, so I can't say how the previous
02:12vessels perform compared to this, and unfortunately I can't take it out for a test drive, but yeah,
02:17this seems like a decent addition to the Japanese tech tree, and I think Japanese coastal players
02:21will probably have a decent time with it, although it's not the most groundbreaking addition to the
02:26game in the world either. Like I say, I think it'll perform decently well. Anyway, that was
02:30just a quick video looking at the PT-802. Hopefully you've enjoyed it, hopefully you'll
02:34join me for the next one. I've been Toreno, and I'll see you next time.
