00:00Based on the incident raised, Wanita NCA has always been steadfast in pushing for the strict enforcement of the Child Act 2001.
00:09So, besides the penal code, every citizen in Malaysia, they deserve their privacy and also not to be harassed online or offline.
00:16And for children, we have the Child Act 2001, which protects children.
00:20This is an added layer of protection for children not to be exposed, not to be even neglected.
00:25So, we urge the authorities to investigate this matter and probably prosecute under the Child Act 2001, which has a wider coverage for the protection of children.
00:34And also, because it involves the usage of social media, I heard that the videos, actually not just those videos, a lot of videos by our party also have been taken down on TikTok.
00:45That's beside the point, but I'm saying that on social media, there is certain guidelines that need to be followed, community guidelines.
00:51And so, exposure of underage children's content on social media is open to abuse and put our children at risk.
01:00So, this is where we should be properly utilising the Communications and Multimedia Act to act against the perpetrators.
01:07And not only for political dissidents and people who share different political opinions.
01:14And that's on top of being very negligent while driving, using the handphone.
01:20So, that was what our Chair has mentioned as well.
01:23So, he should probably be investigated under the Road Transport Act as well.
01:26And for the police to actually act on and investigate this matter further, I believe that the parents of that underage or the minor should be lodging the police report and they should take their statements and take it further from there.
