00:00Hi, I'm Mindy from the United States.
00:02Before we begin my tale, please like and subscribe.
00:05I always liked history and the secrets of the past.
00:08Even when I was a child,
00:10the stories of the Roman Empire and dinosaurs fascinated me.
00:13Needless to say, history was my favorite subject.
00:16But there was one thing that made history class a chore,
00:19my rival and headache, Timmy.
00:22Don't let his name fool you.
00:23He was a nightmare.
00:25You see, like me, he was obsessed with history
00:28and the stories of the past.
00:29So what was the problem?
00:31He was a total jerk, that's what.
00:33He always scored higher than me in history class
00:35and he always had the most smug grin about it.
00:38Considering our similar interests,
00:40it didn't take long for us to form a lasting rivalry.
00:43It even extended to our time in high school.
00:45Oh, so close, Min.
00:47Did that question about the French Revolution stump you?
00:50I would have had time to think it over
00:52if you didn't make those stupid faces
00:54when the teacher wasn't looking.
00:55Not my fault that it makes you giggle.
00:57I did not giggle.
00:59Sure, sure.
01:00Not like you could have beaten my score anyway.
01:02And there it is, a perfect score.
01:05How the?
01:06Better luck next time, Mindy.
01:08Ha, ha, ha, ha.
01:08God, I hate that smug grin.
01:10One of these days, I'm gonna wipe it off his face, yeah.
01:13Getting two straight 100s would restore my honor.
01:16But that never happened.
01:18Due to some family emergency, Timmy had to move abroad.
01:21I decided not to say goodbye.
01:23I turned away and let him leave me behind.
01:25At first, I celebrated.
01:27No more teasing, no more childish competition,
01:30and no more of his smug grin.
01:32But as the school year passed by, I had to admit it.
01:35I missed him a bit.
01:36There was no real challenge anymore.
01:38Eventually, I did start getting back-to-back perfect scores,
01:41but it wasn't the same.
01:42My parents were so proud of me.
01:44I was happy, don't get me wrong, but it was just so easy.
01:48It didn't feel like an accomplishment anymore.
01:50So the years went by like a blur.
01:52I went to university and worked to get my archeology degree.
01:55All the while, I volunteered as a museum tour guide.
01:58It was fun getting to teach people
01:59about my favorite subject, but something was always missing.
02:03But all that changed when I met Antonio one day after work,
02:06a tall, dark, and handsome older student
02:09working on his business administration degree.
02:11At first, I wasn't that interested,
02:13but he quickly impressed me with his knowledge of history.
02:16You also study archeology?
02:18No, but I do dabble.
02:20I'm more on the business side of archeology.
02:22I like helping those more talented than me
02:24reach their full potential.
02:26And you're saying I'm...
02:28Yes, I'm saying you're talented and I want to work with you.
02:31What do you say?
02:32We can discuss details over coffee.
02:34Well, I, all right.
02:36After my volunteering work though.
02:38Of course.
02:39The day was set and it was wonderful.
02:42After so many years, I finally found someone else
02:45who shares my passion for history.
02:47We spent hours talking, mostly about my job in the museum,
02:50something I was happy to talk about.
02:53For the next two months, my days were spent with Antonio.
02:56We studied, worked, and had fun together.
02:59We were a couple in all but name.
03:01For some reason, I was never able to take that step with him
03:04but the next day, things would be different.
03:06I was going to ask him out.
03:08That plan, however, burned up while I was working
03:10at the museum and leading my current group.
03:13And here, we have what some would call
03:14the secret map to the Akashic records.
03:17Legend says, if you can crack the code,
03:19you can find the record buried in some desert.
03:22It's believed the record details the written language
03:24of actual angels, but that's just a myth and doesn't...
03:28Actually, it's believed the record is the written account
03:30of all events throughout time.
03:32You're thinking of something else, Mindy.
03:34You never were one for the stranger side of history.
03:37That voice, it can't be.
03:40Tim?
03:41Oh, you must have missed me if you're using my nickname.
03:43I, uh, no I didn't, shut up.
03:46I tried to deny it, but I had missed him.
03:49Even his familiar smug grin didn't cause me to groan.
03:52Wow, he really grew up.
03:54He almost looked hot.
03:56No, think of Antonio.
03:57I'm supposed to ask him out on a real date today,
03:59but that's when I noticed something.
04:01Timmy just corrected me in front of my tour group.
04:04That's not what the Akashic records are about.
04:06Really?
04:07Well, I'm sure it doesn't relate
04:09to the language of angels.
04:10How would you know?
04:11Have you ever seen the records?
04:13Have you?
04:14Admit it, Min.
04:15I got you beat once again.
04:17And I've only just come back.
04:19Before we could get into one of our serious debates again,
04:22someone entered into the equation.
04:24Are you okay, Mindy?
04:25Is this guy bothering you?
04:27No, he-
04:28Oh, you must be Antonio.
04:30Nice to meet you.
04:31You know each other?
04:32No, I don't think so.
04:34Do I know you?
04:35Nah, but I know you.
04:37Upcoming businessman with a strong interest
04:39in history, archeology, and people?
04:42Word gets around.
04:43But I have never heard of you or your relation to Mindy.
04:46I've been away for a long time.
04:49Maybe you should have stayed away.
04:51Mindy clearly doesn't want you here.
04:53Now, wait a minute, I-
04:54She should be the one to decide, don't you think?
04:57I think she has.
04:58The question is if you will comply
05:00or will I have to call security?
05:02Didn't know you owned the place
05:04or are you getting to that?
05:06Red lightning cracked between their gazes.
05:09My tour group was slowly backing away
05:11and I was at a loss for words.
05:13What in the world was going on?
05:14My salvation came in the form of my boss
05:17who quickly ended the tense confrontation.
05:19Timmy gave me a wink before leaving.
05:21Antonio stayed with me the rest of the day,
05:23which was sweet of him,
05:24but I couldn't get what happened out of my mind.
05:27I should be mad, but despite everything,
05:29a smile was slipping.
05:30Timmy was back and it was like he never left.
05:33We easily picked up where we left off,
05:36bickering like an old married couple.
05:38Not that I want to marry him.
05:39He was still insufferable.
05:40So because of that, I completely forgot to ask Antonio out.
05:44Well, maybe next time, but the next time never came.
05:47Timmy showed up every day afterward.
05:50We would bicker and argue over historical facts.
05:53I actually remembered more facts correctly this time.
05:55It didn't wipe that grin off his face,
05:57but I couldn't bring myself to care that much.
06:00The fun ended every time Antonio came
06:02and that's when the guilt crept in.
06:04I'd been putting off asking Antonio out
06:07and I don't know why.
06:08I liked him and I was quite sure he liked me too.
06:11Wasn't it wrong of me to be talking with Timmy so casually
06:14for me to so easily fall back in step with another guy?
06:18It wasn't fair to Antonio,
06:19but it also wouldn't be fair to Timmy to ignore him.
06:22This cycle of guilt continued for almost a month
06:24until Antonio pulled me aside one day during work.
06:27I think you should stay away from that Timmy guy.
06:30He might be looking to steal something from the museum.
06:32What?
06:33This is Timmy we're talking about.
06:35He loves history.
06:36He would never.
06:37Based on what you told me, he's obsessed.
06:40Worse still, you haven't seen him in years.
06:42He's not the same person you knew.
06:44What Antonio didn't know
06:45was that Tim loved this stuff as much as me.
06:48If I wouldn't do it, then I'm sure he wouldn't.
06:51But the thought wouldn't leave my mind.
06:53It got worse when I started noticing things.
06:55I thought Timmy was here for me,
06:57but he did spend a lot of time just looking around.
07:00The problem was what he was looking at.
07:03Cameras, the guards,
07:04and especially the Akashic Records map?
07:06No, he wouldn't, right?
07:08He's not like that.
07:09But how well did I know Timmy?
07:11He'd been gone for years.
07:13Who knew what could have happened during that time?
07:15These thoughts haunted my nights,
07:17and they wouldn't go away.
07:18So I made a decision.
07:20If I couldn't sleep,
07:21I may as well stake out the place, like in the movies.
07:23If Timmy was innocent, I wouldn't see him there,
07:25and all I'd lose is sleep.
07:27But if I did find him, I had no idea what I'd do.
07:30So for the next few days,
07:32I kept watch of the museum at night,
07:33hoping and praying not to see Timmy.
07:36But my prayers weren't answered.
07:38A week in, I saw him.
07:39Timmy, picking the lock and entering the museum.
07:42My heart shattered.
07:43Timmy betrayed me?
07:45Me?
07:46Of all people, his rival?
07:48I couldn't let this stand.
07:49Thoughts of sleep faded away,
07:51to thoughts of doing what I've always wanted to do,
07:54but never found a reason for.
07:55Punching Timmy in his stupid face.
07:58I carefully followed Timmy's trail through the dark museum.
08:01When the coast seemed to be clear,
08:02I picked up the pace and ran towards the room
08:05where the map was.
08:05And to my horror, it was gone!
08:08And standing not too far away, was Timmy.
08:10I was too mad to think.
08:12I stormed over and punched him in the face,
08:14hard enough to knock him down.
08:16Min?
08:17Don't you ever call me that again.
08:19How could you?
08:20Stealing a historical artifact?
08:22Breaking and entering?
08:23Using me to get close to it?
08:25I didn't steal it.
08:27Mindy, listen, I-
08:28No, you listen.
08:30I was wrong to trust you.
08:31I don't know why I ever did.
08:33It's not like we were ever really friends.
08:35But I thought,
08:36I thought you at least understood me.
08:38That you loved history as much as me
08:40and would never do something like this.
08:42I couldn't stop my tears from falling from my face.
08:45Mindy, I didn't steal it.
08:47Look at me.
08:48If I did, then where is it?
08:51You must've hidden it when you heard my footsteps.
08:54That big thing?
08:56Really Min, you're smarter than that.
08:58I-
08:59Min, please trust me.
09:00You're the last person I would want to hurt.
09:03So believe me when I say,
09:05I would never do something if it meant it would upset you.
09:08For the first time, Timmy actually looked dead serious.
09:12For a second, I believed him.
09:14But if he didn't steal it, then-
09:15I guess I have to deal with you both.
09:17Timmy got in front of me to protect me from whoever spoke.
09:20But I instantly knew that voice.
09:22Antonio?
09:23I'm sorry it had to come to this, Mindy.
09:26I really did enjoy your company.
09:28I knew you were after the map.
09:30Didn't think you could bribe the guards to leave though.
09:33I was surprised by how empty the place was.
09:35Why, Antonio?
09:36All this time, it was Antonio who was using me.
09:40I was too focused on Timmy to realize.
09:42Why?
09:43Because regardless of which one of you
09:45is right about the map,
09:46I'll be rich after I sell the records.
09:48Money?
09:49Really?
09:50Typical.
09:51That map and the record, if it exists,
09:54belong in a museum,
09:55not in the hands of some rich collector.
09:58It's not up to you, I'm afraid.
10:00Before he could reach into his pocket,
10:01Timmy tackled him with surprising speed.
10:04The two started to grapple, tear, and pummel one another
10:07as I stood frozen in my spot.
10:09Run, Min!
10:10Call the police while I hold this guy off!
10:12I listened, not because I wanted to,
10:14but because my instincts kicked in.
10:16I didn't want to die.
10:17I didn't want to be dragged into this big conspiracy.
10:20I just wanted to get my degree, find a job,
10:22find a husband, and live a normal life.
10:24Husband.
10:25My steps slowed to a crawl
10:27as I looked back at my time with Tim.
10:29Despite the frustrations,
10:30I also loved my time with him.
10:32And when he left, a hole was born,
10:34a hole I thought Antonio could fill.
10:37But instead, he was just an imposter.
10:39The person I wanted to ask out,
10:41the person who makes me smile,
10:43it's clear who it is.
10:44He's someone I couldn't bear to lose permanently.
10:47So I ran, this time to find something to save him with.
10:50Quickly, I found the first thing
10:52that looked like it could hurt Antonio,
10:54a spear believed to have been used by our ancient ancestors.
10:57I ran back to the two men
10:58and found Antonio standing over Tim, ready to end him.
11:02Your father would be so disappointed in you.
11:05With all my strength,
11:06I swung the blunt end of the weapon across his head.
11:09Thankfully, it knocked him out,
11:10but it also broke the spear.
11:13Whoa, did you, little Miss Historian,
11:16just break a historical artifact?
11:18I'd do it again for you.
11:20I actually made Tim blush.
11:22I helped him up, but I didn't let go of his hand.
11:25Min, I...
11:26You don't have to say anything, okay?
11:29So what now?
11:31We clean this place up, call the police, and find the map.
11:35I'm sure he didn't move away from the museum just yet.
11:38So that's what we did.
11:39The map, thankfully, was recovered from a closet.
11:41Tim was right.
11:42Antonio didn't have time to properly move it.
11:44After that, we were congratulated by the city
11:47and the museum for our brave actions.
11:49We were even given $10,000 for our heroics.
11:52Antonio was sent to prison,
11:54and Tim joined me at the museum.
11:56But something tells me our adventures are far from done,
11:59if Tim's knowing smirk is anything to go by.
