00:00Gagan, it's such a pleasure to be with you, Kannan on behalf of One India.
00:04So, the Paris Olympics are over and you're seeing a lot of medals at the Paralympics.
00:11I know that this is something which is so heartening for each athlete, each fan.
00:16I mean, you're still an athlete at heart and will remain an athlete at heart, coach mentally.
00:21Your thoughts on what happened in Paris and looking ahead how this campaign is building up?
00:27Well, hats off, Kannan sir.
00:29I mean, you've been following Indian sport for very long.
00:32And the kind of medals that are being won by the Paralympians is absolutely amazing.
00:37I mean, what brilliant effort by each one of them.
00:40And they surpassed their earlier medal tally.
00:42Superb.
00:43I mean, my personal inspiration, so many of them that have done really, really well, especially in shooting.
00:49You see archery, you see, you know, javelin, badminton, great, great inspiration and stories.
00:55So, my compliments to all of them.
00:57You know, this is like a turning point in shooting.
01:01You know, we've seen in our own team shooting.
01:04Nowadays, one shouldn't even make a distinction between able-bodied and para.
01:09But, you know, obviously, go back to three medals from Paris 2024 Olympics and this Olympics.
01:15Do you think that's going to really make a kind of a change?
01:19You'll see a kind of revolution, more people coming forward.
01:22And maybe by 2028, we'll win in the Olympics as well as in the Paralympics.
01:28Well, absolutely.
01:31I think shooting has done fantastic.
01:33I mean, in the able-bodied discipline, shooting is one medal after 12 years.
01:39And that too, three of them.
01:40So I think fantastic achievement by the shooters in able-bodied and Paralympics surpassed all records previously.
01:47And they've done absolutely brilliant.
01:49And I think the future is bright for Indian shooting, whether it's able-bodied or para.
01:54You know, very soon, before the celebrations end, we'll be into the 2026 cycle and the 2028 cycle.
02:01People must not forget that it's not just about Los Angeles.
02:04It's about the next Asian Games and you also have possibly the Commonwealth Games in Manchester.
02:11So how do you think that will start getting cracking right away?
02:14Well, I think training and winning medals is a continuous process.
02:17I know a lot of athletes who've trained and competed in the Games are already back to training.
02:24And the ones that missed the Olympic Games are already breathing fire down their throats because they're playing their trials, shooting competitions, trying to get those rankings up.
02:35And it's a fierce competition.
02:36So the ones who won cannot take it easy.
02:38And I think may the best person win.
02:42Thank you, Gagan.
02:44Always inspiring to talk to you.
02:46Deep appreciate it.
02:47Thank you very much, sir.
