The musical theatre star is appearing in Chicago at the Canberra Theatre Centre
Transcript
00:00I'm a big fan of Floriade. I was living in Barrow many years ago and as soon as it hit the news I'd
00:06be in the car and driving here. I brought my daughter here a number of times. It's just
00:12delightful to be here and I look around at most of the tips I try to pick up are how they water
00:21and the kind of mulch that they use so it's an educational experience for me. I love it.
00:36Canberra hasn't seen me on that stage for 15 years. I was here with Opera Australia in 2009.
00:43I was with Pirates of Penzance and the lovely thing about coming to Canberra and we're finishing
00:50our tour now and so it's a well-seasoned show but the great thing about it is that I've done
00:55now all the major cities with this particular production. We started off in Perth last year
01:02and we've done Brisbane and Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and now the Crown is coming here back
01:10to Canberra which is just so lovely and it's actually really a very intimate theatre. It's
01:15not huge which is I think ideal for the show.
01:26You'll definitely see me on a Monday because I can't come down on Tuesday
01:30but yes my lovely wife and I will be down. She's American and I introduced her about four years
01:37ago. I brought her to Floriade and introduced her to fairy floss. She didn't know the term because
01:45they used cotton candy which is a very different animal over there. It's much more dense. She
01:51absolutely adores it and first thing she said, can we get the cotton candy? So yes,
01:56we will be here on a Monday to get the cotton candy.
