00:00It's really nice to be in a city and I think it's a really beautiful place.
00:14Yeah, lovely to see Sao Paulo.
00:18The halfway mark on the race, Sao Paulo.
00:22Founded as a Jesuit mission in the mid-16th century,
00:26it's now Brazil's financial capital and wealthiest city.
00:32Hello.
00:33Good to see you, team.
00:34Everyone looks clean and polished again.
00:37That's what happens when you get in a...
00:40Congratulations to you guys.
00:44All four teams have reached the checkpoint,
00:46whilst Geoff and Freddie have maintained their lead.
00:49For the others, a reshuffle.
00:51How happy are you to be back in the top two?
00:54We are really happy, aren't we?
00:55I was quite traumatic last week.
00:57Jeremy's just been on it.
00:58We sacrificed Rio to try and catch you up.
01:02This leg was a huge improvement on the last,
01:04but I feel like we're going to burn out really quick.
01:07We know our limit.
01:08We know how much we've got in the tank.
01:10I think we're going to try and enjoy it more and race well.
01:14That's really the goal, isn't it?
01:16It's just getting that balance between experience and race,
01:20and I find it really difficult.
01:23The guys that are catching us up,
01:24I can feel them breathing down our necks now more than ever.
01:28Look, I might not get to explore some of these cities ever again.
01:31Yeah.
01:31And my team, I want to have fun.
01:34As much as I love being able to sign in, see first,
01:36and be all like, yes, I'd like to see more.
01:39And I can't wait to tell my kids when I'm a dad
01:42about the great times I had with my dad.
01:45Yeah, I would like memories, but I would also like to win.
01:48I think Jeremy and Geoff should just team up
01:51and me and you go on holiday.
01:54With three legs still to run, teams on top of the healthiest budgets.
01:59But for those lower down the rankings, money is dwindling.
02:05Listen, we want to win this race, all right?
02:07I don't know how we're going to do it because we've been last twice.
02:10We finished last year, but we wasn't that far behind.
02:13So I'm pretty optimistic about the next leg.
02:16We had a good time the last leg, didn't we?
02:18We did.
02:19It was really special.
02:20It's not all about first, second, third.
02:24I feel good to be third, do you?
02:25Yeah.
02:26Because we've clawed a lot of time back.
02:29But then we'll probably leave here and it'll just go downhill straight away.
02:32That's what we've usually experienced when we've left a checkpoint.
02:35Do you reckon on this leg we'll move out of Brazil?
02:37Yeah, we've got to.
02:38I don't think Brazil ends.
02:40No.
02:40I think it just keeps going.
02:41It doesn't appear to.
02:54BONJOUR
03:00Bonjour.
03:01Bonjour. Hi, guys.
03:02Bonjour.
03:03Before the break of dawn,
03:05race leaders Jeff and Freddy get a head start on their rivals.
03:09This is for you, OK?
03:11Welcome.
03:13So your fourth checkpoint is Tiga.
03:17Oh, wow, we're going into Argentina, Fred.
03:20After 16 days in Brazil,
03:23teams are heading to South America's second largest country, Argentina.
03:28Land of the Gauchos and birthplace of the Tango.
03:32A journey of 2,250km to the fourth checkpoint, Tigre.
03:38On the outskirts of the capital, Buenos Aires,
03:42a riverside town of old-world charm,
03:45sitting in a network of waterways and islands,
03:48forming the Paraná Delta.
03:51All right, off to the bus garage.
03:53We have to get on the red line, I believe.
03:55From here, we're going to go down there, six stops.
03:59This way, this way, this way.
04:01Fred has a weird knack of just knowing his way around metro systems
04:06that he has never touched.
04:07I'm enjoying just following him.
04:09Come on.
04:11Sit in the comfy chairs.
04:12Why not sit in the massage chairs?
04:14Do it in style.
04:16To reach Tigre, teams must decide where to cross into Argentina.
04:20They could continue to the southern tip of Brazil,
04:23then into Uruguay, South America's priciest country,
04:27but with the allure of good transport links and well-paid jobs.
04:31Or venture west to make an early break for the border,
04:35travelling directly through Argentina
04:37or even skirting through the corner of Paraguay.
04:40With the cost of living is cheaper,
04:42but transport could be less reliable.
04:46What do you fancy?
04:48I feel like we need more experiences than just focusing purely on a race.
04:52I'm really attracted to the family stay.
04:55Oh, this sounds lovely.
04:56A family-owned campsite run by a local couple need help.
05:00Let's immerse ourself into a Brazilian family.
05:04I think it's going to be a great experience.
05:06Let's immerse ourself into a Brazilian family.
05:10I like that, I must say.
05:12What is also screaming out, it's free overnight stay
05:16if you can use your own tent.
05:18What do we have?
05:19Our own tent, man!
05:20I knew it was going to come into play.
05:22I knew it was a tactical stroke of genius.
05:25Let's see where Cascavel is.
05:27So if we go Cascavel, we're near Paraguay.
05:30Paraguay is cheap, so that's going to be really good for the budget.
05:34Does that sound like a plan?
05:35Yes.
05:36Connection.
05:38Geoff and Freddie plan to head 900km south-west to Cascavel
05:43before cutting through the corner of Paraguay
05:46to take advantage of its low-cost transport en route to the checkpoint.
05:51Pre-warm-up, pre-workout.
05:57Trying to touch my toes.
05:59Take me to Cascavel, please.
06:01Cascavel, si.
06:048.30.
06:09Dad!
06:10There's one at 8.30 that we've just missed.
06:12Oh, he's yanking.
06:14Absolutely unhappy.
06:18To wait six whole hours.
06:20That's our lead sort of gone.
06:24Such a shame it's in the afternoon, isn't it?
06:26Yeah, that's long.
06:28Two o'clock, right.
06:31As Geoff and Freddie sit tight...
06:34Oh, we can have some lovely Argentinian steak.
06:37Nice glass of Malbec.
06:39Happy days.
06:41..Kelly and Jeremy are next to leave the checkpoint.
06:44So it looks like there's quite a few different routes we could go.
06:47Uruguay was high on my list of somewhere I wanted to visit.
06:50I just know that it's going to be so expensive.
06:52It's like the Saint-Tropez of South America.
06:54I just don't think we're going to be able to do it on our budget.
06:57So what do you think?
06:58I think for you, you like the idea of going a more direct route
07:01so you can get to checkpoint quicker.
07:03We could just stay in Brazil
07:05and then we just nip straight into Argentina.
07:07Can we do this?
07:08Yes, that's what I'm saying.
07:10You've got the waterfalls that are right on the kind of border
07:12of Brazil and Argentina.
07:14And it's the most spectacular waterfall in the world.
07:17And I feel like we've not had that, like, wow moment yet, have we?
07:20And you did promise me you were going to have more fun.
07:22You literally look like you're my security guard on this whole trip.
07:25I'm just thinking.
07:26Yeah, OK, shall we do this? We've got a plan?
07:28Yeah.
07:29I think it would be wonderful to do this with Kelly,
07:31visiting the waterfall.
07:32Like, it's lovely, it's very romantic.
07:34So I think we need this after three long legs.
07:36And I think we need some time for us.
07:40Kelly and Jeremy are planning a swift exit from Brazil
07:43via the border city of Foz do Iguaçu
07:46before slipping into Argentina from the north.
07:49Hola. Foz do Iguacu?
07:51Yeah.
07:52How long is the bus?
07:53Between 16 and 18 hours.
07:55Oh.
07:56It's an epic bus journey again.
07:59It's just psychologically... I can't even begin to describe it.
08:02It's just, like, imagine flying to Australia every two days.
08:07It's just relentless.
08:09Oh!
08:12The front of the bus, Fred,
08:13why have we missed out on this for the first three legs?
08:16It's nice.
08:17Check out the leg position.
08:18I'm getting a suntan whilst travelling on a bus.
08:22This is next level.
08:24Geoff and Freddie are finally escaping Sao Paulo.
08:27It's a shame that we had to hang around for six hours.
08:30But the way you navigate your way around, like,
08:33busy city centres that you've never actually even been to,
08:37it's really impressive.
08:38You notice things that no-one in a million years would spot.
08:42Yeah, I'm talented.
08:44Don't ruin it.
08:48It's a skill that not everybody has got
08:50and that might help guide you towards a job.
08:52I always get told my ADHD will really help me in the future.
08:56I don't really know how.
08:57Truthfully, I don't like working for other people
09:00and being told what to do.
09:01I just want to be my own boss.
09:04I think I'm quite intelligent and smart, but not school smart.
09:09I don't think I took much from that whole school experience at all.
09:14I think I've only done two GCSEs.
09:16So, actually, pat on the back for that.
09:20I've got two out of two.
09:21I'd like to do a lot with my life.
09:23I just don't know what exactly,
09:25and I feel like that's why I've kind of put myself off not having a job.
09:28Can't wait to watch what you do.
09:33You know when you sort of keep looking at your right bicep?
09:37When? No, I'm not looking at my bicep.
09:40I'm just looking.
09:41I just feel sorry for the left bicep, because you never check it.
09:44Ask it how it is, because your right one gets all your attention.
09:48It's because the right one's bigger.
09:50Well, the left one heard that and he's upset
09:52that you're complimenting the right one, not the left one.
09:55You're all right. You'll get there.
10:00As night falls on Sao Paulo...
10:04It's the first time we've had to open up a new bit of the map.
10:07This is going to throw us a little bit, but we shouldn't let it.
10:10..the last two teams have also left the checkpoint...
10:13Argentina!
10:15This is going to be a long leg.
10:17..and are plotting their way out of Brazil.
10:19There's so many different routes.
10:21We could do Paraguay.
10:22Paraguay's one of the cheapest countries.
10:24Essentially.
10:25But I think the transport links will be better in Uruguay.
10:28Even though it's more expensive, we take the risk.
10:31I think maybe we do.
10:32I think if we could get jobs in Uruguay,
10:34then we won't have to worry about it being a bit more expensive,
10:37because we can top up our funds.
10:39Let's do that, then. Yeah.
10:41Uruguay is a risk that now, halfway through,
10:44I am willing to take, because we need to race.
10:47Oh, here we go!
10:50Mary, man, it looks like we might be able
10:52to celebrate our heritage a bit tomorrow.
10:54What do you mean?
10:55There's a St Patrick's Day street party.
10:59Oh, my God. I want to go there.
11:01Yeah, so do I.
11:02It starts at 4pm till late.
11:04There's no alternative.
11:05If we're going to Porto Alegre, I'm going to the party.
11:08Sight set on the celebrations,
11:10cousins Cola and Mary Ellen have a journey of over 1,100km
11:15to reach Porto Alegre in the far south of Brazil by tomorrow.
11:20We're proud and we're Irish,
11:22and if we had the opportunity to go to a St Patrick's Day festival
11:25and we said no, we wouldn't be able to live it down.
11:28Your mum would be like, don't come home, don't come home.
11:32Right, St Patrick's Day, here we come.
11:35Oh, yes! That's cool.
11:38It's just so nice to see a train.
11:40Husbands-to-be Scott and Sam have travelled 400km to Curitiba,
11:46taking in the sights before heading to Uruguay.
11:50It's nice not to be on a bus.
11:52It really is.
11:53The city sits on a plateau more than 900km long,
11:57and it's one of the most beautiful places in the world.
12:00It really is.
12:01The city sits on a plateau more than 900m above sea level.
12:06With numerous landscape parks, it's known as the Green Capital,
12:11steeped in history from traditional colonial architecture
12:15to its Serra Verde Express line.
12:20Think of how different this is to Sao Paulo yesterday.
12:24Yeah, that busy metro.
12:26It's two extremes.
12:28Constructed in the late 19th century,
12:3113 tunnels blast through mountain rock,
12:34cutting deep into the Atlantic rainforest.
12:38I've always wanted to go on a train ride like this.
12:40This is exactly what I imagined it to be.
12:50It went funny there.
12:52Oh, I can't look down there.
12:55Oh, wow.
13:00It just feels as if we're floating in the air.
13:03You are so far up.
13:05We're almost at the top of these mountains.
13:10This is one of the most incredible views I've ever seen in my life.
13:14Not many couples get to do what we're doing right now.
13:17I'm so glad that we got to do it together.
13:20Bet you didn't think you'd be doing this with me seven years ago.
13:24I couldn't get you to go anywhere with me for a while.
13:29The moment I met Sam, everything just went blurry.
13:33It felt different than before.
13:36You weren't keen on me at the start, were you?
13:38I didn't say not keen, I just...
13:40It went a bit too fast, too quick. Right.
13:43So I just had to put the brakes on a little bit.
13:46We'd both come out of quite long-term relationships
13:50and I was full steam ahead.
13:53He was not.
13:55So he was like,
13:57er, I'm not sure I can do this right now.
13:59I was gutted.
14:01Scott asked me, do you just want to be friends?
14:04And I had to be honest and say, I think I do at the moment.
14:08And Scott rightfully at that time said, I can't do this.
14:12And there was about six to seven months where he didn't talk to me.
14:16I was hoping that he would look back and go,
14:19I really missed that fun that we had
14:22He's such a nice person.
14:24It wasn't easy, you know.
14:26I found it so hard not to just text you or pick up the phone.
14:29It was a risk.
14:31But I couldn't think of anything else that I could do.
14:33I think over that time, I missed him more and more
14:36and I think I realised why I was letting go.
14:41All worked out, though, didn't it?
14:43It did, it worked out in the end.
14:45And here we are, in Brazil, two months from getting married.
14:52Coming away from this, we've had such an amazing experience
14:55and I think it has just reinforced my love for Scott.
14:59Things in the last six months have been ridiculous busy
15:04where I sometimes don't see him for more than an hour or two,
15:08from one week to the next.
15:10This has been the reconnection that we needed
15:13before we do it for the rest of our lives.
15:18635km to the west...
15:21Holy moly.
15:22..after their 16-hour night bus...
15:24Our last memory of Brazil will be these incredible waterfalls
15:27and I think that's going to be really nice.
15:29Two buses to get there.
15:30I always say it's three forms of transport
15:32to get anywhere worth seeing.
15:34Kelly and Jeremy have reached the triple frontier border,
15:37planning a direct course through Argentina
15:40and have inched ahead of Geoff and Freddie en route to Paraguay.
15:44Whilst leading the charge down the Brazilian coast to Uruguay,
15:48Kola and Mary-Ellen are halfway through their 21-hour journey
15:52to the St Patrick's Day parade.
15:54Happy St Patrick's Day, Kola.
15:56Happy St Patrick's Day, Mary.
15:58It's three hours ahead in Ireland.
16:00Our family's definitely in the pub by now.
16:03A million per cent. Most people don't know I'm Irish
16:06because obviously I have a very African name
16:08and a very English accent,
16:10so you wouldn't automatically think my mum's Irish.
16:13No.
16:14My mum was born in Kerry and my dad's Nigerian.
16:17Lovely fusion of cultures.
16:20Weirdly, so far but so close.
16:24In passion, very dedicated, very loving people.
16:28And I love my heritage.
16:30Growing up as a mixed-race man,
16:32it wasn't that easy all the time.
16:35You know, it was...
16:36Especially in Peckham.
16:37You had to kind of lean towards more of the black culture.
16:40Yeah.
16:41In the 70s when, you know, there was turmoil in this country,
16:45South London was a safe haven for Irish
16:47and for people of black culture.
16:49And that's, you know, that's how my mum and dad met.
16:53In a pub.
16:55When I was young, I didn't even know race and religion.
16:58I didn't see that.
17:00I just saw my friends as my friends.
17:02But then you get older and things change.
17:05In my social groups, it was kind of seen more as,
17:08you know, you have to choose one side,
17:10rather than just be what you actually are,
17:13which is mixed race, and that's perfectly fine.
17:15People would say stuff like,
17:16just because your mum's white doesn't mean you're white,
17:19you're black, you're black, you're black.
17:21Do you know what I mean?
17:22It made me kind of, like, push aside my Irish heritage.
17:25But growing up and becoming a man
17:27and, you know, thinking with my own brain,
17:29I always say, oh, yeah, I'm Irish and Nigerian.
17:31How many counties in Ireland do you know?
17:33All right.
17:34Kerry.
17:36Derry.
17:38Galway.
17:40Wait, I should know more than this.
17:42There's 32.
17:45It's shocking.
17:50This looks really beautiful.
17:53Hi, guys.
17:54Hola.
17:55Nice to meet you. Jeff.
17:57Louisa, Josie, Daniel.
18:03Just 165km from the border with Paraguay,
18:07Jeff and Freddie have pitched up
18:09to work at the Barelli family's campsite.
18:13He is youngest.
18:20Today?
18:21Oh, happy birthday.
18:23Happy birthday.
18:24Thank you for spending your birthday with us.
18:26What a boring birthday.
18:29This peaceful refuge is hidden in the forest
18:32on the outskirts of the city of Cascavel.
18:35Oh, yeah.
18:37Cascavel.
18:38Right.
18:40Where campers can experience living amongst nature.
18:44Hey, you're in Toledo.
18:46Cascavel.
18:49Come, Fred.
18:50We need to work.
18:56Jeff and Freddie have been tasked
18:58with chopping firewood for the camp.
19:04I've never, ever in my life seen that technique.
19:09Ah.
19:10I'll be real, I did not just see what he'd done.
19:13Then he turned it round.
19:14Like that?
19:15Yeah.
19:17Unlucky.
19:18Go on, keep going.
19:20It's hard work.
19:22Fred, I'm really happy when I'm watching you
19:24trying stuff out and persevering
19:26and not stopping when you feel like you're no good at it.
19:31Freddie's strengths are absolutely numerous,
19:34but he's the last person to see them himself.
19:36Oh, me with an axe.
19:39A lot of the time, I think that he sees himself
19:42as being inadequate, inferior, not enough.
19:46All right.
19:47School was tough.
19:50I was that kid in class that wasn't really the same.
19:54I struggled, my concentration weren't the best.
19:57Bit of a joker.
19:59Right, that is in.
20:00Go on, Fred, you got it.
20:03Oh, again.
20:05So at ten, I got diagnosed with ADHD.
20:08A lot of teachers had noticed.
20:10It's very fidgety.
20:12I didn't mean to misbehave.
20:14I didn't know how to really cope with everything that was going on.
20:19I don't think I was bad, but I weren't good.
20:23And down.
20:24Nearly.
20:25Yes, Freddie.
20:27Only took eight times.
20:29It's all right.
20:30It's hard work.
20:32There's like a whole three-day worth of firewood there.
20:37I hope they've got the marshmallows to cater for it.
20:40Are you going to be able to push that?
20:42Dad, have you seen the size of my biceps?
20:46He might actually be able to update his CV when he gets home.
20:50Lumberjack.
20:51Update my CV?
20:54I couldn't hazard a guess at how Fred's mind works,
20:58but I know that he's going to do something amazing in his lifetime.
21:02We need the pioneers.
21:03We need the people that give a completely different opinion.
21:06And that's what Fred's role is going to be.
21:08Look, put that one there. That's going to roll.
21:12And I see it. I've always seen it.
21:14And I look forward to him realising it.
21:16One day, it's all going to click and fall into place.
21:19Nicely done, Fred.
21:21See me?
21:23Keep your eyes peeled for a jaguar.
21:31Oh, my God!
21:33Hey, look at this!
21:36Iguazu Falls stands proud at 80 metres high
21:41and is made up of 275 individual waterfalls.
21:45Wow!
21:46Let's look down.
21:47Well, we weren't in a shower!
21:49According to local legend,
21:51Iguazu was created by a god
21:53whose future bride fled with her lover across the river.
21:57In anger, he split it in two,
21:59condemning them to the abyss.
22:01Don't look down.
22:03Oh, my God!
22:05Hey!
22:06I thought you were right under it.
22:08We're in the waterfall!
22:10Oh, my God!
22:12That's wild!
22:14It's like we're on the edge of the world!
22:17What a buzz.
22:19Look at this!
22:21Ooh, look at the power of that.
22:24Woo!
22:29Yeah!
22:31It's awesome!
22:35I never expected it to look like this.
22:37Oh, it's amazing.
22:40I never expected it to look like this.
22:42Oh, it's amazing.
22:44I've never seen anything like this in my whole life.
22:46This is probably, like, the most beautiful thing
22:49I've ever seen, ever.
22:51Like...
22:56Wow.
22:59The nature is so healing, isn't it?
23:01It's like an energetic, like, shift.
23:09For Cola and Mary-Ellen,
23:11a hold-up en route to the St Patrick's Day party.
23:16Bus broke down.
23:18I don't know exactly what's going on,
23:20but I know that we've been stopped here
23:23for about an hour and a half now, so...
23:27That sucks.
23:31They say parties in Brazil start quite late,
23:34so hopefully we can still make it.
23:37Happy birthday, Eloise!
23:40Happy birthday to you!
23:43Woo-hoo!
23:45Ha-ha!
23:48My dad has bought eight cakes.
23:50Oh, yes, they've got the cheese balls as well.
23:52He's happy.
23:54Geoff and Freddie have been invited
23:56to join 13-year-old Eloise's birthday celebrations.
24:00So I've just asked Eloise,
24:02what's your favourite lessons at school?
24:04Read it out.
24:05My favourite class is PE.
24:07I like to play ball with my friends.
24:10What kind of ball?
24:12Throw-in?
24:13Football.
24:14Football?
24:15Yes.
24:16What's your favourite team?
24:18São Paulo.
24:19São Paulo.
24:20OK.
24:21They are good?
24:22My team in the Premier League?
24:24Tottenham.
24:26Richarlison.
24:27Richarlison is Brazilian, isn't it?
24:29Is there anything you'd like to know about...
24:34about England?
24:39Good?
24:40Si.
24:43What is it like to live in a country that has a royal family?
24:47Hmm.
24:48That's good.
24:49You have to watch your reaction to this one.
24:51It's really cool for the tourists to see the palace and guards,
24:54but otherwise they're mostly getting in trouble.
24:58Dinner has been really lovely.
25:00What it's taught me this evening, actually,
25:02is regardless of the language barrier,
25:04people just know how to be good hosts.
25:07So I'm really glad that before we depart Brazil,
25:10we've really sat down and been able to get to know these guys.
25:14Obrigado.
25:16It's been a nice day.
25:18It has.
25:19Really kind family.
25:20We've eaten, we've laughed.
25:22For not doing so well in the race on this leg,
25:25we're definitely doing really well
25:27when it comes to making memories as a father and son.
25:31I've never slept in what felt like a car park before.
25:36150km ahead,
25:38Kelly and Jeremy are the first team to enter Argentina.
25:44Oh, my God, can you smell the barbecue?
25:46Ah!
25:47We're definitely in Argentina.
25:49It feels really different.
25:51Stopping over in the border town of Puerto Iguazú.
25:55Hotel.
25:56It might be expensive, but it looks a bit boomy.
25:58Yeah, I think so.
26:00Oh, this one looks nice.
26:01I know, babe. Come on.
26:02Oh, we can just see.
26:04Come. Come with Daddy.
26:05There's this one here. Less expensive.
26:07Come on, let's go in this one.
26:09Hola.
26:10It's $40.
26:11Is that all?
26:12Yeah.
26:13Can we see it first?
26:14Can we see the room?
26:15Let's make sure it's all right.
26:17Yeah?
26:18Yes, OK.
26:19I will go and pay.
26:20Hang on, babe.
26:25Oh, look at this one!
26:29$40,000.
26:31Muchas gracias.
26:33Hello.
26:34What's your cheapest room for two?
26:36The cheapest one, $68.
26:39OK, that would be amazing.
26:42Where's Kelly?
26:44I lost Kelly.
26:45Oh, is that two double beds?
26:47Yeah.
26:48This is much nicer, isn't it?
26:49Oh, my God.
26:50You can't even compare.
26:51OK, thank you.
26:54Is he checking in?
26:56What?
26:57Did you pay already?
26:58Yeah, I gave the money already.
26:59OK.
27:02I just wish you'd slow down a bit.
27:08Babe, we need to be strong mentally
27:10because we can't go in nice hotel now.
27:12We can't afford to.
27:13Why are we working?
27:14What's the point?
27:15If we can't even have a decent bed and shower...
27:18I just tried to do my best.
27:19Babe, you didn't try and do your best.
27:21You ran into the first hotel you saw
27:22and then just gave the guy some money.
27:24I did the right decision, trust me.
27:25Well, yeah, you've got a lovely cheap room
27:27and you've got a miserable wife, so well done.
27:36Arriving late after their bus breakdown...
27:40Oh, my God.
27:42This is so heartbreaking.
27:44..Caula and Mary-Ellen have missed the celebrations.
27:47Our whole journey revolved around going to Porto Alegre
27:51for St Patrick's Day and that hasn't happened.
27:54Gutted.
27:55In the morning, we start again.
27:57Tomorrow's a new day.
27:58You get knocked down, you can get back up.
28:00That's what it's all about.
28:03Today, things went wrong.
28:05Terribly wrong.
28:06Like, comically wrong.
28:08But, you know, that doesn't mean that tomorrow
28:12we ain't going to get some luck our way.
28:14Happy St Patrick's Day.
28:175.30am.
28:19Oh, it's early.
28:21But we've got to do this to get some ground going, haven't we?
28:25I really don't know where we are in the race.
28:28Until you turn that book over, you just can't guess.
28:31After their day spent sightseeing,
28:33Scott and Sam are the furthest team from Tigre,
28:36booked on a bus out of Brazil.
28:38The bus is in 20 minutes, but Sam's just driving.
28:43They face a 27-hour journey,
28:45catapulting them into Uruguay to Montevideo,
28:48just the other side of the Argentinian border.
28:51We have decided to go through Uruguay,
28:53which we were hoping is a bit faster,
28:55but it's a bit more expensive.
28:57So we found a job to help top up our funds.
29:00I'm excited that we're on the way out of Brazil
29:03and to another country.
29:04600km to go.
29:06It's going to be a long journey.
29:08I'm excited that we're on the way out of Brazil
29:10and to another country.
29:11600km to the west after leaving the campsite.
29:15That was really nice, that little experience.
29:18Yeah, I feel, like, full of good stuff.
29:21We've had a slow start to this leg.
29:23And we need to get back into race mode.
29:25Geoff and Freddie are approaching the Paraguay border
29:28in search of a swift crossing.
29:31I feel like it's a taxi situation.
29:33We know that we're close to the border.
29:35You think taxi to the border?
29:37Everything else is buses that are going back
29:39to where we've just come from.
29:41Sure.
29:47The border for Paraguay.
29:55I don't really know that he definitely knows
29:57where we want to go.
29:59That he might do.
30:00Worldwide, I think everyone knows what a border is.
30:03They're very close to the border.
30:05They have a different word for it.
30:14There's no Buddhist temple, there's an Arab mosque.
30:19We would just like to cross the border.
30:26The border is not the border, Fred.
30:28We're in the car now and we're going to where we need to go,
30:31so we're good.
30:33The Friendship Bridge opened in 1965,
30:37linking Brazil with its much smaller neighbour, Paraguay.
30:41Known as the heart of South America,
30:43it's one of only two landlocked countries in the continent.
30:47Paraguay's going to be really good budget-wise.
30:50Do you think they get a lot of tourism here, Fred?
30:53I don't think they see many English people.
30:57I'm absolutely cooking.
30:59With living and transport costs
31:01up to 30% cheaper than other South American countries,
31:05Jeff and Freddy plan to take advantage
31:07by cutting through the edge of the country
31:09on their way to Argentina.
31:12Does it remind you where we're going?
31:14Incarnation.
31:16The next one leaves at 11.30 at night.
31:19Seven hours? No.
31:21No.
31:22This is just great.
31:24Fred, I don't know what to say to you, mate,
31:26cos it's our second big delay of this leg
31:28and it seems really gutting.
31:30Let's just sit and smile and act like this isn't shit.
31:35As Jeff and Freddy come to a standstill in Paraguay.
31:39I think so far, this leg, we're making good time.
31:42Getting into Argentina early has been quite a good tactic.
31:47Kelly and Jeremy are the only team in Argentina
31:50and are planning a day's sightseeing in Concordia.
31:53We like these little unusual stop-offs, don't we?
31:55I'm quite happy to just go and discover something.
31:57Yeah, me too.
31:58I just want to forget the race for maybe one day.
32:00And just be together. That's what we need.
32:02We could maybe find a little bar and see, like, Argentine tango.
32:06Neither of us have been to Argentina before,
32:08so it's exciting, isn't it?
32:10To the east, Scott and Sam are forging forth to Uruguay,
32:15closing in on Cola and Mary Ellen, heading in the same direction.
32:20Hola.
32:23Ticket to Conta del Este, Uruguay.
32:26Let's get your money out.
32:28This is our most expensive bus yet.
32:32I don't know how much things cost once we get off the bus,
32:35but we're not financially in the best position to afford Uruguay.
32:40Obrigada.
32:42I guess we're going to have to work then, innit?
32:45With just 31% of their budget left,
32:48they plan to arrive in Uruguay fresh and ready to work tomorrow.
32:56Ah!
32:57I'm going to have to get that flannel out the bin.
32:59Rub my feet.
33:02Oh, my God.
33:04I was in Hollywood three weeks ago, living it up.
33:07Now I'm in Brazil, in a toilet,
33:12washing my feet with a flannel.
33:14That's about balance.
33:17Of Uruguay.
33:20I'm a bona fide backpacker now.
33:27So we went to sleep in Brazil, woke up in Uruguay.
33:32Uruguay.
33:33South America's second smallest country,
33:36but one of its most developed.
33:38Contrasting glamorous coastal cities with rolling plains,
33:43its tradition of cattle ranching
33:45sees cows outnumber people four to one.
33:50I just remember my dream I had last night.
33:52Moon and K was doing race across the world against us.
33:55I'm Justin Timberlake.
33:57Who won?
33:58I woke up.
34:00After 25 hours on the road,
34:02Scott and Sam are gaining ground on Cola and Mary Ellen,
34:06who are pitching up in Punta del Este,
34:10where the Rio de la Plata meets the Atlantic Ocean.
34:14Dubbed the Monaco of South America,
34:17a glamorous beach resort attracting the rich and famous.
34:23Beach club, look at that.
34:25It's looking pretty stunning.
34:27Punta del Este's got a lot of money.
34:30But for the party-loving cousins, it's strictly business,
34:34with a budget-boosting job lined up.
34:37Oh, my God, man.
34:40Hey.
34:42I left my passport on the bus.
34:44Oh, God. You all right?
34:47I took it out and put the passport back in the case
34:49and it was left on the chair with my suit.
34:51Think about how you're going to get it back.
34:54Once it's cleared up, then I'll go home.
34:57Leave it where it belongs.
34:59Well, we haven't really got time for this.
35:01I know.
35:02I know.
35:03I know.
35:04I know.
35:05I know.
35:06Well, we haven't really got time for this.
35:11Moving on.
35:12Moving on?
35:13Yeah.
35:16So do you think your passport's going to levitate towards you?
35:20All right, cool.
35:21Oh!
35:23Is it the fact that he's a celebrity
35:25and you have people holding on to these things for him?
35:28Like, what's gone on? He never used to be this clumsy.
35:31I've no one to blame but myself.
35:33It's a stupid thing to do.
35:35It being the end of the race, it'll be hard to swallow
35:37because we've come so far.
35:40And it will be my fault.
35:42I don't know if there's a way of getting into Argentina
35:45without a passport.
35:47Hopefully, when we get to the job,
35:49we can use the telephone to get his passport back.
35:54Ready to step foot into another country?
35:56Ready.
35:59Scott and Sam have arrived in South America's
36:01southernmost capital city
36:03and are looking to secure onward transport to the checkpoint.
36:07After our job, we need to get to Buenos Aires somehow.
36:12Hola.
36:13Do you go to Buenos Aires?
36:15Tonight, PM.
36:18So it's, like, overnight.
36:19Bus, yeah. 12 hours.
36:22Scott, I'm going to go in here.
36:24Hola.
36:25We need to get to Buenos Aires this evening
36:28the fastest way possible.
36:30You have the ferry direct to the site.
36:33And how long does it take?
36:35Three hours around.
36:38They could opt to travel by bus,
36:40heading north-west to reach the bridge into Argentina
36:43before doubling back.
36:45Or the direct ferry would place them
36:47just 30km from the checkpoint.
36:50But it comes at a cost.
36:52How much?
36:58Each?
36:59It's about 200 quid just for the three-hour ferry.
37:01Oh, my God.
37:02That's insane.
37:04That's blowing a lot of the money.
37:06Usually, it's the other way round.
37:08Scott's like, yeah, let's spend it.
37:10But when he sees the cash actually dwindling down,
37:12I think he's getting a bit worried.
37:14Three hours over 12 hours.
37:16I think it's worth the gamble.
37:18I haven't taken any other gambles.
37:20Are you sure we can afford it?
37:21I think 100 quid is worth it.
37:23Oh, God, don't even.
37:24Two, three, four, five...
37:26I'm nervous because we haven't ever
37:28spent this much money in one go.
37:30It's a bit of a shock after three weeks
37:32of being really cautious.
37:34I just don't want to run out of money,
37:36and that fills me with a little bit of dread.
37:40I hope this is the right thing to do.
37:42Done it now.
37:48Hola.
37:49Hello.
37:50I'm Kola. Nice to meet you.
37:52Nice to meet you. Welcome.
37:56A short hop from Punta del Este,
37:58Andrea runs the loose culinary wine lodge.
38:01Oh, this is beautiful.
38:05Before we work, is there a phone that I can use?
38:08Sure. Possibly.
38:10A crucial phone call to the bus company
38:13to try to salvage their race.
38:15Oh, hello.
38:16I left my passport on a bus to Montevideo from Porto Alegre.
38:23Every day?
38:27No, this morning.
38:31Oh, my God.
38:32Excuse me, can you tell her the situation?
38:34Sure.
38:50Yeah, OK.
38:52Office closes at 9pm.
38:54Oh, OK.
38:55So we have to get there before 9pm?
38:57Yes.
38:58OK, thank you.
38:59Thank you so much for your help.
39:01It's there.
39:02Yeah.
39:03The passport's there.
39:04That's incredible.
39:05Office closes at 9pm today.
39:07We'll get there.
39:08Ooh, look at this.
39:11This is the very first vineyard I've ever been to.
39:14It'll be playing on my mind until the passport's in my pocket.
39:17Because Montevideo is hours away,
39:20that does affect the time that we can spend here.
39:23Mary, I can go across and just untangle it and then roll it.
39:26Oh, OK, yeah.
39:27We can do a little bit of work for these nice people,
39:30but we've got to be on our way.
39:32Pretty sharpish.
39:34Missed this one, Mary.
39:35I think I'm better off doing the wine tasting
39:38than the wine harvesting, do you know what I mean?
39:41This is exciting for me.
39:44Following their seven-hour hold-up yesterday,
39:47Geoff and Freddie have made it to the southern tip of Paraguay.
39:51I've been waiting so long to get on a bloody train.
39:55Now here we are.
39:56It's not much of a train, it doesn't go very far,
39:59it just goes over a bridge,
40:00but it takes us from Paraguay to Argentina
40:03and closer to the checkpoint.
40:05Here we go.
40:07Yeah, boy!
40:10Taking just nine minutes from station to station,
40:13father and son are the second team to enter the checkpoint country.
40:17Fred, have you seen this cloud? It's mad.
40:19It's like the underneath of a Star Wars spaceship.
40:22Oh, yeah.
40:23It's a really odd cloud.
40:27That was an easier border crossing, wasn't it?
40:30Now we're in Argentina.
40:34Right, here we go.
40:38To reach the checkpoint,
40:39there's still a whopping 1,000km to cover.
40:42We go to Tigre?
40:44Direct? Direto?
40:47Que hora?
40:48Straight away.
40:49We're probably not going to better that.
40:51Let's do it.
40:52Obrigado.
40:53No. Gracias.
40:55Gracias.
40:56This leg, this is the one thing that has actually gone right.
41:00We've arrived at a garage and we haven't had to wait for ten hours.
41:04This is what we thought it was always going to be like
41:06until this leg taught us a lesson and gave us a slap round the face.
41:09Oh, on the minute.
41:10Is it?
41:11Yeah.
41:12Love that.
41:13As Geoff and Freddie play catch-up,
41:16Kelly and Jeremy's direct route has paid off.
41:19Now just 410km short of the checkpoint,
41:23they're taking time out to soak up the local culture.
41:28Oh, babe, look!
41:30Jezza, we need to get our tango on.
41:33Tango, tango, tango!
41:35Oh!
41:39Born out of the late 19th century
41:41working-class dance halls of Buenos Aires,
41:45the tango was once considered immoral
41:47due to its intimate and sensual movements between partners.
41:51The dance of passion is now synonymous with Argentina.
42:01We've never danced Argentine tango before.
42:04If you walk, you can dance tango.
42:06If you walk, you can dance tango.
42:08So I will walk, definitely.
42:13When Jeremy and I first met,
42:15I was studying martial arts just to keep fit
42:20and he was a judo fighter and I saw a video of him
42:23and I was like, oh, I wonder who he is?
42:25And I found him on social media and I was like, hi!
42:29Ah, there.
42:31This one?
42:32This one?
42:33No, no.
42:34I did not know who she was
42:36and when I saw her, she did an amazing smile
42:38and I was like, wow, it's like a punch in your face
42:41because she's beautiful.
42:42But my English was not good.
42:44I was with Google Translate,
42:45I was trying to do the conversation, it was not easy.
42:48Relax your upper body.
42:51OK, I'm all relaxed, OK.
42:53OK.
42:54When I came to London the first time, it was quite amazing.
42:57Oh, when we first met?
42:58Yeah.
42:59Did my aura just, like, bowl you over?
43:00Yeah.
43:01Yeah, it was different.
43:03No, it's true.
43:04I'm putting words into his mouth.
43:05This is how I teach him English.
43:07You fell in love with me at first sight.
43:09Yeah, that's it.
43:15We've been together ten years now.
43:17It's really flown by.
43:19I can't believe that.
43:23He doesn't like public displays of affection,
43:26so I just get the finger.
43:29To the east.
43:31I'm on the bus to Montevideo to go get my passport.
43:34Kola and Mary-Ellen are racing down the coast of Uruguay.
43:38This leg's been a car crash.
43:39We've missed everything, we haven't even experienced hardly nothing.
43:42We thought we were going to go to a lucrative job opportunity,
43:46but we left the job early
43:48and what we got was enough, basically, for a bottle of water and a coffee.
43:51I think we're going to come forth again.
43:54Everything sucks, really.
43:56A lot.
43:57A lot.
44:03Over 100km ahead,
44:06before setting sail to Argentina...
44:09We're looking for Veronica.
44:12..Scott and Sam are replenishing their funds
44:14after shelling out on expensive ferry tickets.
44:17This is so cool.
44:19It's like a proper market.
44:20Yeah.
44:21Is that Veronica?
44:22Hola. Hola.
44:23I'm Scott, how are you?
44:24Sam, nice to meet you.
44:26You're here.
44:27Welcome to work.
44:28It's later.
44:29Traffic.
44:30Traffic.
44:31Later.
44:32Traffic.
44:33You're cracking the whip already.
44:35Veronica runs a barbecue restaurant
44:37that has been in the family for almost 40 years.
44:41You work in the bar and you work in the barbecue.
44:44Very quickly.
44:45Yeah, we're going to be quick.
44:46OK?
44:47OK.
44:48OK.
44:49Let's go.
44:52Oh, my word.
44:54So, you're going to work or you're going to sit?
44:57I'll work.
44:58The tradition of slow-cooking meat over an open fire
45:01is known as asado,
45:03a symbol of Uruguayan identity,
45:06celebrating community, family
45:08and the country's heritage tracing back to the Gauchos.
45:12Faster, faster.
45:13How many of these do you cook a day?
45:15Maybe 2,000.
45:172,000 a day?
45:18Throw it, throw it.
45:20Sam is a master of the barbecue
45:23and he'll be doing that when he gets back home too.
45:25Don't be afraid, don't be afraid.
45:28This is fast.
45:29I know, it's very fast.
45:3218.
45:3318?
45:35Never had a job like this in my life.
45:37This type of work is chaos.
45:40Absolute hats off to these guys.
45:42Every day you're here?
45:43Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
45:45Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
45:47Every day.
45:49Veronica reminds me a lot of my dad.
45:51He used to run a transport company.
45:54I used to see him work all hours,
45:56moving big furniture on the vans every day.
45:59I actually did that with him once when I was about 10
46:02and he thinks that's why I got into radio
46:04so I didn't have to go out on the vans again with him.
46:07He's gone past 70 now and still works
46:09and I'll be the same.
46:11Oh my God.
46:15Come on.
46:16Okay.
46:17Don't think about it.
46:18Okay, let's go.
46:19Let's go.
46:22Okay.
46:26In Argentina...
46:29Let's go to a bar down here.
46:30We can sit out in the square.
46:31Okay.
46:32Kelly and Jeremy are booked on an overnight bus
46:35to make a final 410km dash to the Tigre checkpoint.
46:40Today I completely forgot the race.
46:42No stress.
46:43How did you find the tango?
46:44I love it.
46:45We should do something like that when we get back to London.
46:47You did the tango in Strictly?
46:49Yeah.
46:50I always think, today was another life really.
46:54It's quite crazy, yeah.
46:55Yeah.
46:56You don't know much about my history in the UK
46:58like when I was in The Big Breakfast,
47:01some of these massive shows that I've been a part of.
47:04It's kind of an invitation for the media
47:06to have an opinion on your life
47:08and to write about you and comment on you.
47:10When you did The Big Breakfast, you were 18?
47:1318, yeah.
47:14I don't really know how the press was with Kelly
47:16like 20, 25 years ago.
47:20I never really asked.
47:22Oh my God, Jeremy.
47:23If I could show you the scathing headlines
47:26that said I was stupid, that I was dumb,
47:29that I couldn't do my job,
47:31there was just no limit.
47:33When you're in the public eye,
47:34there's going to be lots of opinions on who you are
47:36and you can't really control that.
47:38If someone's going to write a scathing headline about you
47:40and use a picture of you in a bikini on the cover of the paper,
47:43that was just like a win-win for the tabloids
47:45because that's what sold newspapers.
47:47As a young girl, you're like,
47:48oh, God, you know, to be famous.
47:50And then the minute you're famous,
47:51all you want to do is hide away.
47:53When I met you the first week,
47:55all English newspapers, they messaged.
47:57All my family, all my friends.
47:59To ask about me? Yeah.
48:01In France, we don't have this culture,
48:03so I'm still not used to this.
48:05I remember one of the first times
48:07I had some paparazzi in front of me.
48:10I thought, what is this?
48:12A few people recognised me because I'm the boyfriend.
48:15To be honest, Jeremy,
48:16I don't think anywhere in the world has this culture.
48:19It's different because Kelly's in the public eye
48:21since more than 20 years, but it's not my life.
48:24I'm, like, private and shy at the same time.
48:28I'm sorry that I've had to, like, drag you into that.
48:30I'm too boring. Nobody wants to write about me.
48:33They might do.
48:34Jeremy walking his dog.
48:35Do you want me in the gym again?
48:41Let's go.
48:42Let's go. Checkpoint.
48:44Off as Kelly and Jeremy set off towards Tigre.
48:48Closing in, Jeff and Freddie.
48:51In an incredibly frustrating leg,
48:53but nonetheless, we're now on a coach that's going to go overnight,
48:57so as soon as we get off, it will be a mad dash towards our checkpoint.
49:03It looks like a cruise ship.
49:05I don't think anybody else is going to be on this.
49:07I think we're the only ones silly enough
49:09to spend that much money on a ferry.
49:11Crossing the Rio de la Plata,
49:13Scott and Sam have Buenos Aires in their sights,
49:1630km short of the checkpoint.
49:18We have to try and save some money now.
49:20Anybody going to Tigre?
49:22Has anybody gone to Tigre?
49:24Has anybody gone to Tigre?
49:25Anyone?
49:26Anybody gone to Tigre?
49:27Please help us.
49:30Stuck in Uruguay...
49:31Where's the lost and found?
49:33Great.
49:36Hello.
49:38English?
49:39Yes.
49:42I lost my passport.
49:46We don't have it.
49:47The lady on the phone told me that you guys have it
49:49and lost and found in the station.
49:57Hello.
49:58I lost my documents, passport.
50:01British.
50:03Today.
50:04I lost it.
50:13So relieved.
50:14Something's finally gone in my favour.
50:16I would have been absolutely screwed,
50:18so I'm over the moon by that.
50:22Harry!
50:23Found it.
50:24Amazing.
50:25Well done.
50:26Shouldn't have handed over the goods.
50:28What goods?
50:29My passport?
50:32I'm so relieved.
50:38OK.
50:39Let's try and get tickets going to Argentina.
50:43Hola.
50:44We want to go to Buenos Aires tonight.
50:46It's been a horrible leg.
50:47But we're en route to Argentina,
50:49and at this point, get us to the checkpoint.
50:52That is our goal.
50:53One way car will be in Argentina.
50:55That's something to look forward to.
50:57Land of Messi.
50:58Hopefully it's not Messi, though.
51:00Hopefully Argentina treats us well.
51:02Please.
51:03Please.
51:04We need it.
51:09Tigre.
51:10Tigre.
51:11That GPS could ping at any time now.
51:19Gracias.
51:20Thank you so much.
51:23Founded as a timber port at the base of the Paraná Delta,
51:28Tigre is criss-crossed by a vast labyrinth of waterways,
51:34buried deep within the fourth checkpoint,
51:38an eco-lodge only accessible by boat.
51:44On foot, cross the bridge,
51:47and take a water taxi along the river
51:50to the Museo de Arte Tigre.
51:54Cross the bridge?
51:56Water taxi.
51:58How do you get a water taxi?
52:00Do you just call one, like a taxi?
52:01Taxi!
52:02Taxi!
52:03Ole!
52:05What the...
52:07Is this normal?
52:08Hola.
52:09Museo de Arte Tigre.
52:11Yes.
52:12Si?
52:13Can we go fast?
52:14Fast, fast.
52:15Vamos.
52:17That's it.
52:18Let's go.
52:22I can see a building with a statue on the top.
52:24That should be it.
52:27I mean, that looks like a museum.
52:30Beep, beep.
52:31Direct the captain.
52:33Take the first big right,
52:36then the next big left.
52:38Find the hotel checkpoint in two kilometres.
52:43Captain!
52:46Big right, big left.
52:48Right.
52:49Right.
52:50Yeah, right.
52:53Did you come right?
52:55Yeah, yeah, yeah.
52:56And then big, like the big left.
53:00Right.
53:01Left.
53:02Right, that's the left.
53:04OK.
53:06And now two kilometres,
53:08find the hotel checkpoint.
53:12What's this on the right?
53:13This is lit up a bit on the right.
53:15No.
53:16It's so dark, I can't see anything.
53:18Is that a hotel?
53:19No, it's a house.
53:21This will be easier in the day.
53:23We've definitely done two kilometres now, surely.
53:25What's here now?
53:26I can see some lights here.
53:28A spa.
53:29Stop, stop, stop.
53:30This is a hotel.
53:31This is a hotel.
53:32Just go.
53:33Wait, wait, wait.
53:34Go.
53:35This is nice.
53:36Oh, there's a reception.
53:37Hi.
53:38Hi.
53:39Welcome to Bell Tiger Hotel.
53:42Please sign in.
53:49Yes!
53:51Yes!
53:54Shall we sign in?
53:56We've never come first before.
53:57What do we do?
53:58I can't believe this.
54:00Look at this.
54:02We honestly thought that Geoff and Freddie were so far ahead,
54:05we didn't think it was mathematically possible to claw that back.
54:10Sign in.
54:11I had a feeling that if we take a massive risk with the ferry,
54:14it might pay off.
54:16And it paid off.
54:18We've clawed back.
54:19Well done.
54:2026 hours.
54:21Well done.
54:22In two legs.
54:23Well done.
54:27I have a feeling we could possibly be first.
54:32Let's go, right?
54:34What, a taxi?
54:35See anything?
54:36I can see a boat coming.
54:38Taxi!
54:39It's coming, it's coming.
54:40Yeah, it's here, babe.
54:41Come on.
54:45OK, I'm in.
54:46Don't make me jump.
54:50OK.
54:54You think we've done well?
54:56I hope so, cos I'm drenched.
55:03Gracias.
55:05On foot, cross the bridge.
55:07Take the water taxi along the river to Museo de Art.
55:11Mary, that way.
55:13Taxi!
55:14Never done that before.
55:16OK, it's time.
55:17Go, go, go, go, go.
55:18There.
55:19Taxi!
55:21Go, Fred, over here.
55:25Oh, there we go.
55:26That looks like a museum.
55:29Direct the captain to the checkpoint.
55:31Take the first big right, then the next big left.
55:35Big way, captain!
55:40That's some really bad luck.
55:41Hopefully everyone else has some bad luck as well.
55:47Big left.
55:49I thought we'd already done a big left.
55:51We went round to the left, babe.
55:53No, I was just following the road.
55:55We didn't do the big left.
55:57Are you sure?
55:58Yeah.
55:59That's the big right?
56:00That big right.
56:02You think right?
56:03Did you say that's a big right?
56:05No, not this one, the next one.
56:07Got you, Fred.
56:08Yeah, you're right.
56:09Oh, I've got water in my mouth.
56:13Where are we going, babe?
56:16We've gone more than two kilometres.
56:17Surely.
56:19It was literally dark when we started.
56:23Come on, come on!
56:26Keep looking, Fred, keep looking.
56:31Oh my God, babe, where is this hotel?
56:37Come on, please.
56:41Scots!
56:43Oh my God.
56:44No way!
56:45Okay.
56:46No way!
56:49They got in seven hours ago.
56:51No!
56:52Good for them.
56:54We were just focused on Geoff and Fred,
56:56but who knew Scott and Sam absolutely nailed it.
57:00We're happy for everyone to come first.
57:02Then for the last leg, we want it to be us, obviously.
57:05I don't think I can sleep now, can you?
57:07Too much adrenaline.
57:09This leg, I think we've got really good balance.
57:11This leg is my favourite.
57:13Yeah, me too.
57:18That was epic.
57:20Ah, this dreaded thing again.
57:23Ow!
57:25Shocked.
57:26Are you not shocked?
57:27Yeah, that's wicked, though.
57:29I don't know about you, man, but I'm pretty chuffed to be a third.
57:32I'm gobsmacked.
57:33I'm absolutely gobsmacked that we're fourth.
57:35No.
57:36See, I'm so used to saying fourth, for God's sake.
57:39It's great at this moment in the race to still be in the race.
57:42So there's ten hours between us and first,
57:45and Geoff and Freddie are actually nowhere to be seen.
57:51We are lost.
57:53For all we know, there might be someone just five minutes behind us.
57:57This boat ride really just sums up our leg.
58:04Venice!
58:05I feel we're the only tourists that have ever been here.
58:07Any decision that you make could mean someone's catching up with you.
58:11This experience has made us re-evaluate what's important to us.
58:15Oh, my God, we're really racing now.
58:17Red, pace it, mate!
58:18Oh, my God!
58:19Being here makes you feel I am not the main character of life.
58:25Push it, push it.
58:26We're under pressure today.
58:27I can smell the smoke.
58:29What are you doing?
58:31I don't know.
58:49I don't know.
58:50I don't know.
58:51I don't know.
58:52I don't know.
58:53I don't know.
58:54I don't know.
58:55I don't know.
58:56I don't know.
58:57I don't know.
58:58I don't know.
58:59I don't know.
59:00I don't know.
59:01I don't know.
59:02I don't know.
59:03I don't know.
59:04I don't know.
59:05I don't know.
59:06I don't know.
59:07I don't know.
59:08I don't know.
59:09I don't know.
59:10I don't know.
59:11I don't know.
59:12I don't know.
59:13I don't know.
59:14I don't know.
59:15I don't know.
59:16I don't know.
59:17I don't know.
