00:00Hey Shabbat Shalom one and all thank you again for joining me today appreciate
00:06you tuning in to me and hope I don't disappoint. Today I'm going to do a
00:11little biography on a man named Jacob O. Meyer who was a minister a 20th century
00:17minister and and yesterday I did one on AB Trena please check that video out
00:25his also name is Angelo Trena but anyways I'm gonna do one on Jacob O. Meyer
00:30here and first off I just want to say I used to watch his telecast on
00:37YouTube it's still on there it's a sacred names telecast and and I do watch
00:43a segment here and there still when it pops up or if it comes to mind but
00:50anyways I wanna share some information about him and show you what a fine man
00:57he was anyways he was born November 11th 1934 unfortunately passed away April 9th
01:052010 Mr. Meyer was a founder president and directing elder of the
01:13assemblies of Yahweh Jacob was also a farmer, broadcaster, translator, preacher,
01:18counselor, and writer and considered by the assemblies of Yahweh to be a scholar
01:26and spiritual leader. He taught classes at I guess it's Dalit or Dalai school and
01:33Obadiah school of the Bible as well as pioneering and editing two monthly
01:40magazines one was called the narrow way and the other was the sacred name
01:44broadcaster. He was instrumental in uniting the worship of Yahweh into one
01:51cohesive group doctrinally and was known for coining the terms messianic and
01:59spiritual Israelis for its adherence. The assemblies of Yahweh does distance
02:07itself from the sacred name movement which is interesting and I might have a
02:12as I read down through here I might have a reason for that because I looked
02:19it up I couldn't find a reason why they you know the group distance himself from
02:23the sacred name movement but I think I might have a clue but don't quote me
02:27it's just a suspicion anyways I'm continuing Meyer was born in Bethel
02:33Berks County Pennsylvania he grew up in a conservative religious Pennsylvania
02:39Dutch family and was active in his local Anabaptist congregation. Meyer
02:47studied at the Evangelical Congregational School of Theology now
02:54the Evangelical Seminary in Meyerstown Pennsylvania. He attended theological
03:02college conducted meetings and coordinated biblical classes at the
03:08institutes he attended. Mr. Meyer later attended Dropsy University in
03:14Philadelphia and John Hopkins University in Baltimore. Jacob first learned about
03:22the sacred name in the late 1950s and taught by an ordained minister of a
03:28prominent denomination during a course in biblical studies. He decided to
03:35herald these truths to the world refusing to keep the sacred name hidden
03:40among the Hebrew speaking scholars. Their efforts meaning he and his wife to find
03:46a sacred names organization was unsuccessful. He stumbled across some
03:52sacred name groups but believed their teachings contained doctrinal errors.
04:01Meyer helped to publish the sacred name herald after which returned to Bethel in
04:071964. It was in 1965 when following a radio message that Meyer was asked to
04:14begin an assembly type organization to which Meyer agreed. If it be Yahweh's
04:21will he said. At this point 30 year old Meyer was anointed with oil and the
04:28Assemblies of Yahweh emerged. Meyer points out that this age was the time
04:34when priests were installed to do the work of Yahweh in the Hebrew scriptures.
04:40Elder Meyer met Ruth Meyer on the first day of high school. Both Jacob and Ruth
04:48have always had an interest in the Bible but that interest grew after they
04:55got married with the knowledge of the sacred names in 1962 and the importance
05:03of keeping the commandments. Ruth was also a driving force in the faith and
05:07organization. Today she is a head deaconess for the Assemblies. Anyways
05:14Meyer became a full-time minister in 1970. He freely counseled numerous people
05:21day or night. He'd call them up day or night. He'd come by and counsel
05:25and help out the best he could. He performed weddings, funerals, and
05:29baptisms wherever. Meyer visited the sick people and people in prison. As a
05:38farmer he gave away free food to the needy. So his own food, his own crops. If people
05:43come up hungry if he knew about it he'd give them some food. He also authored
05:48numerous books and translated the Bible which is called the Sacred Scriptures
05:53Methyl Edition. He did many missionary works around the world in his lifetime.
06:00His main teaching consisted of commandment keeping, spirituality, faith,
06:07love, prophecy, petty. Meyer also taught the Assemblies to learn and then recite
06:15the Shema three times a day. Today his ministry is ran by his faithful children.
06:21So he had his congregation recite the Shema of Deuteronomy 6.4
06:32chapter 6 verse 4. And that's basically all I have right there for that. But I do
06:40have his translation. Here is his Bible. The Bible that he translated right here.
06:46I got this online pretty cheap. It's kind of hard to find but I did get it.
06:52It's a Methyl Edition and I thumbed through it here and there. The lettering is
06:58little but I could still read it if I had the proper lighting and
07:05studied through it. I looked through it and I noticed something here. I noticed some
07:12missing verses out of here. I tried to look up why they were missing.
07:16I tried to dig that up and couldn't find no explanation. The missing verses are
07:23Mark chapter 9 verses 44-46, Luke chapter 23 verse 17, and then the Book of Acts
07:35chapter 15 verse 34. They're missing and I'm not sure if there's any more missing.
07:41I didn't catch any more. The verses they got like a number here of
07:46course. You know verse 2 or verse 3. But the ones I saw over here it skipped from
07:52you know let's just say it skipped from in Acts chapter 15 verse 34. The missing
07:59verse would go from 33 to 35. And besides that I mean if they weren't missing I
08:05mean this book still is a pretty good translation. Except you know that
08:11like I said the printing, the font, or whatever is real little and I got to
08:16kind of squint and have good lighting to actually study it and read it. But in all
08:20in all it's a good translation and you know if you're interested in you know if
08:25you collect Bibles this could be another one if you can find one online. But like
08:31I said it was kind of hard for me to find one. I found this on a I believe it
08:35was eBay I believe it was. Yeah I couldn't find on Amazon or any of the
08:40bookstores but eBay. I got it off of eBay and several months ago. But like I
08:46said you know I collect Bibles and everything and interested and I just
08:49study them look at them and stuff like that. But anyways thank you again for
08:56joining me and listening to me rant on about biographies. I'm just kind of like
09:02that interested and I just want to you know share the information I get with
09:06you guys and you comment below let me know what you think about Jacob Omeyer
09:11just tell me some stories about him or if you've watched his telecast or
09:15anything like or if you've got one of his Bibles I'd love to hear from you.
09:20And that's all I have to say right now. Thank you guys for joining me and please
09:25subscribe and give me a big thumbs up and hit that notification bell. I have
09:30more stuff coming like always. So until we meet again brothers and sisters peace
09:35out and Shalom!
