00:00More than 100 homes are set to be built at a former mill complex after permission was granted by the council.
00:07Buildings at canal mills next to the Leeds-Liverpool canal in Armley will be demolished to make way for the scheme.
00:13Developer Country Lodge sought permission to build 102 homes in six terraced blocks of townhouses at the 19th century industrial site.
00:23A Leeds City Council planning report said that the design of the properties could be seen as a modern interpretation of the Victorian terrace properties characteristic of the area and is considered appropriate.
00:34Existing buildings at the site include a form of spindle works attached to derelict warehouses and factory buildings.
00:41Cycle storage and 53 car parking spaces will be built at the site along with grassed and landscaped areas.
00:48Plans to incorporate wooden murals by artist Graham Wilson into the development will be agreed and permission was also subject to affordable homes being included in the scheme.
