00:00The Senate discussed the budget of the Movie Television Review and Classification Board or MTRCB

00:06where different issues were discussed.

00:09The budget was also discussed for the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development.

00:20In the budget hearing of the Senate Subcommittee on Finance,

00:23one of the highlights of the hearing is the movies that received an X-rating from the MTRCB

00:29like the movie Alipato at Muog and the controversial movie Dear Satan.

00:35The MTRCB explained their actions.

00:53The film tends to undermine the faith and confidence of the people in their government or duly constituted authorities.

01:02The second review of Alipato at Muog applied.

01:06But if you ask Soto about the Dear Satan movie,

01:09I am offended as a Christian.

01:14No, it is not demonic but it is a depiction of...

01:19It has a different depiction of Satan becoming good.

01:35It was also found to be violative of the Presidential Decree of 1986.

01:41Another highlight of the hearing is how the MTRCB is making a solution

01:46to regulate some other movies that are said to be violent.

01:51There are movies that are X-rated, supposedly X-rated, especially Viva Max.

01:56I haven't watched any movie of Viva Max.

01:59But according to those who are always watching this,

02:06there is a bit of violence.

02:09Truthfully, it is impossible to regulate all these online curated content platforms.

02:17What we were thinking and what we were proposing maybe

02:20to appropriate mechanisms for content control

02:24is in a way that we want to ensure that there would be a cooperation

02:29with the online streaming apps, with the online curated content providers

02:33by using safeguards.

02:37Another part of the budget hearing in the Senate is the budget

02:40of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development.

02:43Senator Ronald De La Rosa pointed out that it is the right thing to do

02:48to reach out to those who are in need of help from the LGUs.

02:53I'm not criticizing how you disperse your money, how you use your money.

02:58For me, how can we get there?

03:00Maybe if we just connect to those who are in need so that we can help.

03:05To our regional directors, we reached out to the local government units affected
