00:00Three senior doctors from Penang Public Hospitals have been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption
00:06Commission for allegedly being involved in a cartel falsifying Social Security Organization
00:12disability claims, according to a source.
00:15Speaking to FMT, the source said more arrests are likely to be made soon in connection with
00:20the cartel falsifying SOCSO claims with the help of doctors.
00:25When contacted, MACC Chief Azanbaki confirmed the arrests.
00:30In July, Senator Dr. R. A. Lingeswaran urged the Human Resources Ministry to address the
00:36alleged suspension of doctors involved in handling SOCSO disability claims linked to
00:41a cartel that falsified applications.
00:45He told the Dewanegara that 683 fraudulent withdrawals totaling 43 million ringgit occurred
00:51between 2018 and 2022, with 16 cases tied to one doctor whose services were terminated.
00:57Lingeswaran called for those involved to be brought to justice and for all fraud cases
01:02to be made public, warning that the known cases might only be the tip of the iceberg.
