00:00Can you believe it's already September and you know what that means, Apple will soon
00:04be releasing iOS 18 to the general public.
00:07Now in today's video I wanted to talk about what we can expect moving forward.
00:12Will Apple release another beta?
00:14When will Apple release the RC slash release candidate?
00:18And what are some of the latest bugs being reported by you guys on the latest iOS 18
00:23developer beta 8?
00:24So let's go ahead and dive right in.
00:25So we already know that Apple will be holding their event on September the 9th at 10 a.m.
00:30And at this event Apple will be unveiling the iPhone 16, 16 Pro, most likely the Apple
00:36Watch 10, the Apple Watch Ultra 3rd generation, and perhaps new AirPods as well.
00:41Now at these events Apple typically also launches the first RC for the next major operating
00:47system.
00:48So iOS 18 RC this year will most likely be announced during or after this event and released
00:54to developers and public beta testers.
00:56So on September the 9th, 7 days from today, we'll most likely see the RC for iOS 18 before
01:02the official release.
01:04Now I want to talk about some of the latest bugs within iOS 18 developer beta 8.
01:09Now some users over on Reddit are reporting issues where apps are suddenly disappearing
01:14from the home screen for some iPhone users.
01:16Now I haven't encountered this issue myself but it looks like some users are encountering
01:21issues where some apps just completely disappear from their home screen.
01:25Now an issue that I have been encountering on the latest beta is issues with FaceTime.
01:30When FaceTiming with family members, FaceTimes are choppy, I'm having issues, even AirPods
01:36are constantly disconnecting when I'm on a FaceTime call, which is kind of annoying.
01:40I'm not sure if this has anything to do with Bluetooth issues or FaceTime itself, but there's
01:44some issues with FaceTime and AirPods and Bluetooth when in a call on FaceTime on the
01:49latest beta.
01:51Now some users also report issues on older devices in the control center.
01:56So I've been running the latest beta on this iPhone 11, one of the oldest iPhones to support
02:01iOS 18.
02:02And I have to say my experience with iOS 18 on older devices has been buttery smooth at
02:06least over the past two betas.
02:08Things are looking pretty good, but some users report glitchy control center.
02:12I can't say that I'm having any glitches here.
02:14As you can see, everything is buttery smooth on this iPhone.
02:17So I'm happy to report that at least on my end, things are looking pretty good on older
02:21devices.
02:22But some users are reporting a choppy control center and a choppy experience overall with
02:27the latest iOS 18 and developer beta 8.
02:31Now will we see another beta before the official release and or the RC?
02:36Well today is September the 2nd.
02:38So we're about seven days away from Apple's event and therefore perhaps the first RC for
02:44iOS 18.
02:45And if Apple was to release another beta, obviously it would be this week, iOS 18 developer
02:51beta 9.
02:52Although I don't see that happening, anything could happen.
02:55Perhaps Apple may need to fix something before the RC.
02:58We'll have to wait and see.
02:59But I think if they were going to release something, it will most likely happen on September
03:03the 9th, right after the iPhone event and the RC with final bug fixes.
03:07And then the official release, I've always said that it could be sometime in September,
03:12mid to late September.
03:13So I've always said September the 16th, Apple's iPhone event is going to be on September the
03:189th.
03:19I think seven days later on September the 16th is when Apple will officially release
03:23iOS 18 to everyone worldwide.
03:27So just keep in mind that if we do see another beta, which I don't see happening, it will
03:31happen obviously this week, RC most likely during or after the iPhone event on September
03:36the 9th and the official release a few days later, I'm guessing September the 16th.
03:40And those are some of the latest bugs and issues with the latest iOS 18 developer beta
03:44aids.
03:45What to expect moving forward.
