00:00Ofsted inspections play a really important part in our school system. It's important
00:03they're focused on supporting schools and helping school improvement but also
00:06giving vital information for parents and removing the summary assessment takes
00:12away a piece of information without actually adding any. All the other things
00:16are already there. An Ofsted report is typically 1,400 words, it's not one word
00:20and there are many other indicators too but removing that summary assessment
00:24does take away an important indicator for parents. We agree by the way, of
00:29course, that the system needs to be supportive to schools, to head
00:34teachers but also that it's providing that clear information to parents.
00:40There's lots and lots of information available these days on schools and is
00:43published in a kind of scorecard format already. That's not a new thing that's
00:47being announced today but actually having that overall assessment grade is
00:53an important part of transparency and is an important indicator for parents.
