00:00Political analysts believe that UMNO should leverage the experience and influence of leaders

00:06like former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yacoub to make a comeback in the 16th General Election.

00:12Azmi Hassan, a fellow at the National Council of Professors, said the former UMNO Vice President

00:17has demonstrated his loyalty to the party, especially to his president Ahmad Zayed Hamidi,

00:22despite allegations made by various quarters.

00:26Although Ismail is currently on the sidelines, Azmi said the Bora MP

00:30has shown that he does not speak ill of UMNO and can help the party rise again.

00:35In the podcast Keluasa Kejap aired last Wednesday, Ismail said he has always been a party man,

00:40representing UMNO's voice in the government and has no issues with the leadership because

00:45his respect for Zayed as the president surpasses everything.

00:49Meanwhile, University Malaya's Awang Asman Paui also urged UMNO to harness Ismail's influence

00:55to restore the Malay party's strength, which had been in decline since losing power in Putrajaya

01:00after GE14 in May 2018. He noted that UMNO should also do more to reduce the risk of
