00:00Let us bow our heads in prayer and ask for God's help to lead us all.
00:08Father in heaven, we are truly grateful for your grace, God,
00:12who calls us every day to come this morning to you.
00:18With your grace, God, you also glorify us and forgive our sins and wrongdoings.
00:25And with your grace, God, we ask for God's promise that we will read in a moment.
00:33It can continue to change each of us.
00:36It can live in our hearts, move each of us.
00:40We can continue your mission, God, in the middle of this world.
00:47So that we do not become salt that is lost, God.
00:51But we can truly declare your glory in this world.
00:55Thank you, God, we dedicate the time of your firmament to your hands.
01:00God, lead each of us in this room.
01:03God, govern each of us.
01:05Thank you, God, we are ready to hear your firmament.
01:09In the one name of our God, Jesus Christ, we pray and thank you. Amen.
01:15Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.
01:18How are you all?
01:21Good.
01:22Ladies and gentlemen, I am so happy this morning.
01:25Once again, I am given a chance by the assembly and God's servants to deliver God's firmament to you.
01:35And the theme that we will discuss together this morning is,
01:40Pekal Tersedia.
01:42We can read it together in the front.
01:46We will open it together first from the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 14, verses 13 to 21.
02:16Matthew 14, verses 13 to 21.
02:28If you have found it, I invite you to read it in turns.
02:36I will start with verse 13.
02:38Ladies and gentlemen, verse 14 to 21.
02:43Then Jesus gave food to 5,000 people.
02:49When Jesus heard the news, he withdrew from the place and went to a secluded place by boat.
02:58But many people heard him and followed him by taking land from their cities.
03:06When Jesus landed, he saw a large number of people.
03:10Then his heart moved and he healed them.
03:17At nightfall, his disciples came to him and said,
03:21This place is quiet and the day has begun at night.
03:24Ask the many people to go so that they can buy food in the villages.
03:31Say to them, you don't have to go, you have to give them.
03:37Their answer to us here is only five loaves of bread and two fish.
03:44He said, let's go back.
03:47As he was told, many people sat in the grass.
03:51And after he took five loaves of bread and two fish,
03:54Jesus looked up to heaven and said,
03:58Then he broke the bread and gave it to his disciples.
04:02Then his disciples divided it among many people.
04:17About 5,000 men ate, not including women and children.
04:22The second part that we will read is from the Book of Proverbs.
04:29The Book of Proverbs chapter 3.
04:32Let's open it together.
04:37Verses 11 to 15.
04:40Verse 15.
04:48Proverbs chapter 3, verses 11 to 15.
04:58I will read it for you ladies and gentlemen.
05:02He made everything beautiful in time.
05:06He even gave permanence in their hearts.
05:09But humans cannot absorb the works of God from beginning to end.
05:15I know that for them there is nothing better than to be grateful and enjoy the joy in their lives.
05:23And that everyone can eat, drink, and enjoy the joy in all of his actions.
05:29That is also the gift of God.
05:32I know that everything that God does will remain forever.
05:39And it cannot be added or reduced.
05:43God does so that humans fear him.
05:48And now there is a reason for it.
05:51And there is a reason for it.
05:54And God finds what has passed.
05:57Ladies and gentlemen, that is the reading of God's word.
06:00May God bless each of us who read God's word and truly keep it in our hearts.
06:08And make it a part of our lives.
06:12Throughout our lives.
06:15Ladies and gentlemen, I believe that in our daily life, we have often encountered colloquial language.
06:24What is colloquial language? It is a language that is not in our KBBI.
06:28But the language is intentionally created. Created.
06:34Created for daily conversation in colloquial language.
06:39I am playing a little guessing game with you. To check if you are colloquial enough or not.
06:45And I limit those who can answer my question who are above 40.
06:53Those who are below 40 cannot join this quiz.
06:56Because I believe that those who are below 40 can join this quiz.
07:04Please raise your hand if you are above 40.
07:10Okay, you can join this quiz. This quiz is specially prepared for you.
07:17Have you ever heard the term lazy?
07:23What is it?
07:25Amazing.
07:28Lazy is lazy to move.
07:32What is this term usually used for?
07:37What is it for?
07:42What is it usually used for?
07:48Huh?
07:50For people who are always in a hurry.
07:54Always in a hurry.
07:56Not happy to move.
07:58Lazy to move.
08:00Daily activities.
08:02Not doing much physical activity.
08:05This is the second question.
08:08What is amazing?
08:10Amazing.
08:12You are really amazing.
08:15This is for all of you.
08:19What is this term usually used for?
08:23Food. Praising food.
08:26This is amazing.
08:28Or praising someone because of their action.
08:31You are amazing.
08:33Really amazing.
08:35This is the last one.
08:38Salvo, ladies and gentlemen.
08:41This is amazing.
08:42You are really amazing.
08:45We are all together today.
08:49Salvo is wrong focus.
08:52What is the term for salvo, ladies and gentlemen?
08:56For something that is interesting from the focus that is supposed to be someone's focus.
09:06Wrong focus or salvo is someone's attention is turned away from something that is supposed to be their focus.
09:14But they pay attention to something else.
09:17That is wrong focus.
09:19Have you ever salvo in your life?
09:24Often.
09:26We often salvo.
09:28Once, a few years ago, when I was still a teenager.
09:33In Solo, there was a big conglomerate that held a wedding party for their children.
09:45They rented a big place.
09:49And invited foreign actresses.
09:55From abroad.
09:57The name of the conglomerate in one city, inviting foreign actresses, no one knew about it.
10:03Even though the invitation didn't say inviting actresses.
10:07But we knew about it.
10:11What happened when the wedding was held on that day?
10:19People salvo.
10:22Even though there was no salvo ceremony that day.
10:25But people at that time salvo.
10:28Because they wanted to take a picture with whom?
10:32Not with their ex-girlfriend.
10:34Not with the one who held the party.
10:37Because we usually take a picture with whom?
10:40Ex-girlfriend, right?
10:42Or the ex-girlfriend's family who invited us.
10:45But no.
10:47This is a competition.
10:48It's a competition.
10:51They wanted to take a picture with whom?
10:54With the actresses.
10:57From abroad.
10:59Not local.
11:01From Hong Kong, China, and so on.
11:04They invited many actresses.
11:07This is one thing that we call salvo.
11:10Salvo.
11:12What else do you salvo in your life?
11:16Do you salvo?
11:18The purpose is to go to mall.
11:21The purpose is to go to mall.
11:23What do you want to buy?
11:25Do you salvo often when you take your wife to mall?
11:29Often.
11:31The purpose is to buy clothes.
11:36But look at the discount.
11:38Then look at right and left.
11:40There are many interesting things.
11:42There are many other discounts.
11:44Sometimes the clothes are not the same.
11:45Sometimes the clothes are not the same.
11:48But they buy other discounts.
11:51That shouldn't be the purpose of shopping.
11:54Sometimes the clothes are not the same.
11:56But they buy other things.
11:58Do you have amen, ladies?
12:02That's what we often salvo, ladies.
12:05I believe you all understand your wife's condition.
12:10Your wife.
12:13The term salvo, ladies, if we want to see in the Injilmatiyus that we read earlier.
12:23Here, we also see one thing that we call wrong focus, ladies.
12:32There's wrong focus in some people.
12:37If we read it, we will learn it today.
12:42We can see the first wrong focus, ladies, when we look at the disciples of Jesus.
12:52The disciples of Jesus at that time had wrong focus.
12:58Their focus is on themselves.
13:02Not on the person of Jesus who should be their teacher, who should be their focus.
13:10But their focus is reversed.
13:13That is, they once again focus on themselves.
13:18Ladies, pay attention, at the time of this miracle, the condition was getting worse.
13:26It is said that Jesus and his disciples actually went to a quiet place.
13:33What was the purpose, ladies? To rest.
13:36They have served so many services, done so many journeys.
13:43Their purpose should be to rest.
13:46But because Jesus had 11 disciples, it is said that because Jesus saw them as a weak sheep,
13:57Jesus continued to serve them, ladies.
14:00Jesus continued to heal them.
14:03Jesus continued to give firmness to them.
14:06But the time was passing, ladies.
14:09And when the time was passing, the disciples were very wise and wise.
14:16If I look at it, before dusk, this is before dusk, before dinner time,
14:24What time do we have dinner, ladies? 6.30, 7.00?
14:28Maybe it was already dawn, 5.30, 6.00, like that.
14:33My imagination.
14:35Approaching dinner time, the disciples were very wise, ladies, in human size.
14:41What was that?
14:43They came to Jesus and said to him,
14:46Please, these many people are asked to go home immediately so they can buy food in the villages.
14:53Wise, isn't it, ladies? Wise.
14:56Wise, isn't it? Wise.
14:57Wise, isn't it? Wise.
14:59But behind this wise and wise thinking, there's one thing, which is, who do they focus on?
15:06On themselves.
15:12Why do I say they focus on themselves?
15:16Because, ladies, they don't have enough food for those many people.
15:20Because they are afraid if those many people are hungry, and those many people are not satisfied with how they face those many people.
15:31They don't have enough money to spend, to feed that many people at that time.
15:39And before people become hungry, and other unwanted things arise, and they are asked to go home immediately,
15:48go home.
15:50So that the disciples are avoided from problems.
15:53So that the disciples don't have to give them food, something they are not able to provide at that time.
16:04But one thing I say, the disciples forget,
16:07to look at the personal figure of Jesus who should be their main focus.
16:13What kind of Jesus? Jesus who has mercy on them.
16:21The disciples love themselves.
16:25The disciples want to avoid themselves from problems.
16:29They focus on themselves.
16:32But they fail.
16:34They fail.
16:36Their wrong focus that they should follow is Jesus.
16:41What kind of Jesus that they should follow?
16:45Jesus who has mercy on them.
16:49Jesus who sees mercy on them from two sides.
16:54That is how he fulfills their spiritual needs, their spiritual needs.
17:00And also Jesus who sees their spiritual needs.
17:05This is what the disciples can't do.
17:10They don't have mercy like Jesus has mercy on them.
17:15Their focus is only on themselves.
17:18Not on Jesus who has mercy on them.
17:22Ladies and gentlemen who are given by God to talk about mercy.
17:29There is one question that we need to contemplate this morning.
17:37There is one question that the church needs to contemplate this morning.
17:42When is the last time we have a merciful heart?
17:47To see the people around us who are not humble.
17:53Who needs just money, physically.
18:00You are very in tune with the theme of the year of the church.
18:09What is that?
18:11Looking for the soul for Christ.
18:14Year 2024.
18:17One question for the church, God.
18:20Today, when we see a lot of people.
18:25When is the last time we have a merciful heart like Jesus has mercy on them?
18:35Or maybe our focus today is on ourselves.
18:44We are busy with our own business.
18:49We are busy with our own affairs.
18:56Our focus shifts from what should be like Jesus who has mercy on them.
19:02But we don't have that today, ladies and gentlemen.
19:09I think this is one question that we can contemplate.
19:15How far is the impact, how far is the impact of us as the church of God,
19:20which is sent back to the middle of this world.
19:22Is there a mercy that can move our hearts?
19:28To see hungry souls, spiritually, or hungry souls, non-spiritually.
19:35I think that's a reflection for us today, ladies and gentlemen.
19:40Second, ladies and gentlemen.
19:42What is the wrong focus of the disciples in this miracle event?
19:47Second, their focus is,
19:51they focus on physical things,
19:55but not on Jesus who is full of power and unlimited power.
20:02The disciples' wrong focus, they don't see Jesus who has power,
20:08and Jesus who has unlimited power.
20:10Jesus who has unlimited power, but their focus shifts to limited physical things, ladies and gentlemen.
20:22What is their wrong focus?
20:25There are four things that I noted here.
20:28What are the physical things that the disciples focus on?
20:32The first is a quiet place.
20:35Remember, ladies and gentlemen, that place is a quiet place.
20:38Where can we buy food for as many people as possible in a quiet place, ladies and gentlemen?
20:46The second, ladies and gentlemen.
20:48There are only five breads and two fish.
20:51This is very limited.
20:53How can we supply so little to feed so many people?
21:00The next is 200 dinars, ladies and gentlemen.
21:02Ladies and gentlemen, if we want to read in the Bible,
21:07because this Bible is not only recorded in Matthew,
21:10but Mark, Luke, and John also recorded this event,
21:14there are 200 dinars, which is enough to buy this much food.
21:21The next, ladies and gentlemen.
21:235,000 people, not including women and children.
21:27These are very limited physical conditions at that time.
21:32It makes the disciples very anxious and can't think.
21:37How can we get rid of this solution?
21:43The disciples should focus on the unlimited power of Jesus.
21:49But they just self-focus, ladies and gentlemen.
21:53There are small things that are limited at that time.
21:56The physical things are limited at that time.
21:59Before this event, they forgot.
22:05Before the event, Jesus actually sent them.
22:11Sent them where?
22:13To go and preach the word of God.
22:15To go and heal many people.
22:18These are servants, ladies and gentlemen.
22:20The disciples of Jesus are servants who were just ordinary servants at that time.
22:23Ordinary servants.
22:25Called by Jesus to be His disciples.
22:29Given the power to heal people.
22:32Given the power to preach the word of God.
22:35This is a new experience for them, right?
22:39They have never done that before.
22:42But because Jesus gave them the power, they can do all of that.
22:46Isn't it amazing? I think that's one thing that's amazing.
22:50I'm just an ordinary servant, God.
22:53Given the power to preach the truth of the word of God.
22:59To heal people. Isn't it amazing?
23:03But how could they forget with their experience that they just experienced?
23:10They should know that this is an amazing teacher.
23:14I'm just an ordinary servant, how could I do this?
23:20Whose power?
23:21Not from me, an ordinary servant.
23:24But the power from my teacher.
23:27From Jesus.
23:29They have experienced that.
23:32How could they forget, ladies and gentlemen?
23:34How could they not remember it?
23:39Their focus shifted to something physical and limited.
23:44And they forgot that the power of Jesus is never limited.
23:48This is the second focus that Jesus' disciples experienced, ladies and gentlemen.
23:55The physical limitation, the limitation of condition, the limitation of anything,
24:02made them unable to provide a maximum service.
24:09But God's firmness, but the experience that we read today,
24:14states an amazing thing.
24:17When Jesus took five breads and two fish,
24:22and thanked, split it and gave it to 5,000 people.
24:30If added women and children, it could be about 15,000 people.
24:34And there were 12 boxes left, ladies and gentlemen.
24:36Ladies and gentlemen.
24:40One thing, ladies and gentlemen,
24:42the wrong focus on limited things physically,
24:46and whatever our condition,
24:48could make our service not maximal, ladies and gentlemen.
24:53Could make God prevent God's work that God wants to make real.
24:59Ladies and gentlemen, God's purpose of giving this miracle,
25:02is not just to give food to 5,000 people, ladies and gentlemen.
25:07God's purpose of giving this miracle is not just to show,
25:14there are five breads and two fish, I will provide for such a great people.
25:19No, ladies and gentlemen.
25:26But there is one thing that God wants to say through this miracle.
25:32The name of God is glorified and people believe,
25:36this is a sign that Jesus was made, so people believe that he is the son of God,
25:40who was sent to be a savior, ladies and gentlemen.
25:45There is one purpose, ladies and gentlemen.
25:52Well, ladies and gentlemen, what God has given us today,
25:55what we should consider from this event.
26:00Our physical limitations.
26:06Today, we are more and more physically limited.
26:10Sometimes we say, God, I am more and more physically limited.
26:18I can't be used by God anymore because I am more and more physically backward.
26:22I am more and more physically backward.
26:27Ladies and gentlemen, if you see me reading the sermon,
26:31maybe a little bit, if you pay attention to me,
26:34maybe you feel something.
26:39But I am backward, ladies and gentlemen.
26:41My physical limitation is in my eyes, ladies and gentlemen.
26:43When I look at my eyes, I start to shake.
26:46Many of my friends said,
26:47I said, did you buy a big Bible or a big phone?
26:52I am worried, ladies and gentlemen.
26:54If I read the sermon, God has given me, I will laugh only once,
26:57because my physical limitation, I have to maintain my eyes,
27:03because I am a little bit, sometimes I can't see the words.
27:13Maybe we gather, ladies and gentlemen.
27:14Maybe we gather, ladies and gentlemen.
27:16My family is in a mess.
27:19My economic life is in a mess.
27:23School fees, my children can't afford school fees.
27:27Maybe we say, my studies are in a mess.
27:36Maybe our conditions, our physical limitation, our weaknesses,
27:41Today, these are the problems we face, ladies and gentlemen.
27:47Our business is not doing well, it keeps going down.
27:52Our income may never go up since the pandemic.
27:56It even keeps going down, ladies and gentlemen.
27:58The problem of our neighborhood that we mess up every day,
28:01there is a conflict and conflict there.
28:05Our business is to take care of our children,
28:07our children who may have problems at school,
28:11our relationship with our neighbors, with our partner who is not good, ladies and gentlemen.
28:17I feel that the problem keeps going around,
28:22as if it never stops affecting our lives.
28:28The conflict can make us lose our focus, ladies and gentlemen.
28:37What's wrong with focusing on unlimited God's power?
28:47Ladies and gentlemen, have you forgotten that we have unlimited God's power?
28:54God who keeps us, God who cares about our lives.
28:59Don't be like the disciples of Jesus, ladies and gentlemen.
29:06We have had a spectacular experience,
29:11God has passed through our lives, God has kept us alive.
29:15But today, our difficulties, our weaknesses, our limitations make us
29:21no longer see God as a powerful God,
29:24but we are turned away from our focus with our weaknesses.
29:33Ladies and gentlemen, not every weakness will be lifted up by God and God will solve it, ladies and gentlemen.
29:38It's not a promise.
29:40But we can say like the apostle Paul said,
29:45in weakness, what will be said, ladies and gentlemen, what did Paul say?
29:50Why? My power is perfect.
29:59In our weakness, God will bless it, God will use it and His power.
30:07Indeed, in weakness, God's power is perfect, like the apostle Paul said.
30:14Ladies and gentlemen, if we are perfect, if our lives are always successful,
30:21ladies and gentlemen, we can be arrogant, we can boast,
30:24this is the smart one, this is the great one, this is me.
30:27This is the extraordinary one, this is me.
30:29This is the great one, who is it? It's me.
30:36But ladies and gentlemen, when we realize there is a weakness,
30:40but we still believe in the unlimited power of Jesus.
30:46In all our weaknesses, God still satisfies us.
30:52In all our physical limitations,
30:58we can still use it to use God as a tool for the glory of God.
31:07So, let's go back to our focus.
31:13Whatever obstacles we face,
31:17let's still focus on the unlimited power of God.
31:22And we believe in all our limitations,
31:26God uses it to be a blessing,
31:30to be a glory in the hands of God.
31:36Ladies and gentlemen, the last focus, the last wrong focus,
31:41is experienced not only by the disciples, but also by many people.
31:48If we see earlier, the disciples of Jesus are wrongly focused.
31:52First, they are wrongly focused,
31:56they are focused on themselves, not on Jesus who has mercy.
32:01Second, their focus is on limited physical things.
32:04They are deviated from the unlimited power of Jesus.
32:09Third, their focus is also deviated,
32:15they are focused on just money, not on spirituality.
32:21The focus of many people who follow Jesus at that time,
32:25they are wrongly focused on just money or birth.
32:32But they don't see the spiritual thing that should be their main focus.
32:41Ladies and gentlemen, Jesus knows why many people want to make Him king.
32:48If we see in the Gospel of John,
32:51parallel to the verse of Amatheus that we read earlier,
32:56it is said that many people, after they are full,
33:01they want to make Jesus as their king.
33:05But Jesus doesn't want to.
33:08It is said that because Jesus knows that they don't come and force Him to make Him king,
33:15He went to the mountain alone.
33:18So, those people, after they are full, they follow Jesus.
33:22Jesus knows that they follow Jesus because of bread,
33:26because of hunger, because of their busy life.
33:29And they also have one hope, ladies and gentlemen.
33:33Why do they want to make Jesus as their king?
33:37Because at that time, they are in the Roman colony.
33:42A life that is oppressed.
33:44A life that is oppressed by the colonizer.
33:47And they want Jesus to be their king.
33:50To build a huge kingdom.
33:53And to free them from the Roman colonization.
33:58Their focus is shifted, ladies and gentlemen.
34:02Because Jesus came to the world, He never had a goal to build the kingdom of the world.
34:08And He became king there, ladies and gentlemen.
34:10Not Jesus.
34:12Not Jesus.
34:14Once again, like I said at the beginning, He came to the world not to give them food just money,
34:23or to satisfy them.
34:25That's not the purpose of Jesus coming to the world.
34:29The purpose of Jesus coming to the world, He had a plan.
34:34Ladies and gentlemen, what I said doesn't mean that Jesus didn't care about just money.
34:47That's not my point, ladies and gentlemen.
34:49Jesus coming to the world doesn't mean He didn't care about human's just money.
34:57What's the proof, ladies and gentlemen?
35:00The proof is that God created heaven and earth first.
35:02Then man was created on the last day or the first day, ladies and gentlemen?
35:07The last day.
35:09It's that God is the one who provides.
35:13He provides, prepares, then man is created on the last day after everything is provided.
35:18That's the proof that Jesus cares about our needs.
35:22By just money, ladies and gentlemen.
35:24Right?
35:26Then when the nation of Israel wandered for 40 years in the desert, what did God give them?
35:33Every morning, what did God give them?
35:37Where?
35:39Is God the one who doesn't care about the physical needs of His people?
35:43No, God doesn't care, ladies and gentlemen.
35:45It doesn't mean that God doesn't care about the physical needs of His people.
35:49In our prayer, what did He say about physical needs?
35:54Give us enough food today.
35:58Give us enough food.
36:00God comes from Jesus.
36:03From Jesus' figure, it doesn't mean from God.
36:06Jesus comes to this world, He's the one who cares.
36:09He's the one who cares about His people.
36:11Jesus also cares about His people.
36:14The proof is that He also gives food to 5,000 people.
36:19Gives food to 4,000 people if we want to read the next verses.
36:24There's a God who cares about our physical needs, not at all.
36:29But that's not His main focus, ladies and gentlemen.
36:33His main focus is not to share bread.
36:39But His main focus is to be the broken bread for our sins.
36:47Ladies and gentlemen, note this sentence.
36:49His main focus is not to share bread.
36:54Not to give bread.
36:56But to be the broken bread for our sins.
37:05This miracle is related to the miracle of the Last Supper.
37:11Where Jesus broke the bread.
37:15To share it.
37:18To be the broken bread for our sins.
37:24That's Jesus' main focus, ladies and gentlemen.
37:28Not to share bread.
37:31But to be the broken bread for our sins.
37:34And that's where many people get the wrong focus.
37:38Because they're waiting for Jesus to fill them up with bread.
37:42They're waiting for Jesus to set them free from the Roman colony.
37:47But they're not aware.
37:51They don't know that that's the wrong focus.
37:55What's the result, ladies and gentlemen?
37:57When Jesus truly teaches them with the truth of the Lord.
38:01How many followers of Jesus have been filled up.
38:04How many followers of Jesus at that time hoped to make Jesus their King.
38:08But Jesus as their King was disappointed and left Jesus.
38:13Yes, ladies and gentlemen.
38:15They were disappointed and left Jesus.
38:19Ladies and gentlemen, even though it can't be compared to the two categories of people who got the wrong focus.
38:26But I want to compare the disciples of Jesus with many people who got the wrong focus.
38:31With what? With Jesus himself who never got the wrong focus, ladies and gentlemen.
38:35Jesus was sent by God to fulfill God's plan to die on the cross.
38:41Jesus never got the wrong focus throughout his life in this world.
38:46Ladies and gentlemen, God gave him to us when he was first tested by the devil.
38:52What was Jesus' first trial by the devil?
38:58Then he became a broken bread.
39:01Ladies and gentlemen.
39:04The matter of Jasmani, ladies and gentlemen, after fasting.
39:09What did he say?
39:11Human life is not just from bread.
39:15Jesus had a chance, ladies and gentlemen.
39:18Jesus had a chance to be saved, ladies and gentlemen.
39:21He was offered a blessing, ladies and gentlemen.
39:23The whole world and its wealth.
39:26That was a golden chance, ladies and gentlemen.
39:28That was a big chance, ladies and gentlemen.
39:29If Jesus got the wrong focus, ladies and gentlemen.
39:32If he got the wrong offer, ladies and gentlemen.
39:34He had become an extraordinary king, ladies and gentlemen.
39:39When many people want to make him a king, praise him.
39:44If Jesus got the wrong focus, ladies and gentlemen.
39:46Can he get a big name?
39:48Can he get popularity? Yes.
39:51Can he be more successful than Herod? Yes.
39:54Can he be bigger than the Torah scholars at that time?
39:59Yes, ladies and gentlemen.
40:01His teachings are powerful, unlike the Torah scholars.
40:05He can be bigger than Herod.
40:07He can be more successful than the kings in the old covenant.
40:13Even Solomon, even King David, ladies and gentlemen.
40:18But Jesus never gave up, ladies and gentlemen.
40:21With his purpose, he came to this world.
40:25A big chance, comfort, and worldly pleasure did not make Jesus give up.
40:33Pressure, social, difficulties, and obstacles did not make Jesus give up.
40:41Until the last moments before he was crucified.
40:45There was an extraordinary pressure.
40:48He prayed in the garden of Gethsemane.
40:51In the midst of his tension before the cross.
40:56He said, God, if possible, let this curse pass from me.
41:04But let your desire come true and not my desire.
41:09And it happened.
41:16Life comfort did not make Jesus give up.
41:19Difficulties and obstacles did not make Jesus give up.
41:24He continued to follow God's plan until the end of his life.
41:39Ladies and gentlemen,
41:48What today is an important lesson for all of us here.
41:56Our church today, God.
42:00Don't experience the curse like many people, like Jesus' disciples.
42:10What?
42:13Why are we called? Why are we crucified by God?
42:18Why are we saved by God?
42:25That is to enjoy a intimate relationship with God.
42:31And to carry out the trust that God has given to each of us.
42:40Let's focus ourselves on what God has given to us, ladies and gentlemen.
42:52Let's not be distracted by the things around us.
42:57By our physical things. By our weaknesses.
43:01Let's not be distracted by our personal affairs.
43:10Look at ourselves. In the end, it's always me.
43:21But let's direct our hearts, our eyes.
43:27Back to the purpose for which Jesus Christ passed through us.
43:35Ladies and gentlemen, I close God's sermon this morning with an interesting story.
43:44I took it from the Bible too.
43:46When I recited this sermon, I was reminded of the story of Mary and Martha who served Jesus.
43:57Ladies and gentlemen, I'm sure you know this story.
44:02Mary and Martha who served Jesus.
44:05When Jesus came to Mary and Martha's house, Mary sat quietly under Jesus' feet.
44:14Listening to Jesus.
44:16Talking to Jesus.
44:18While Martha was busy with what, ladies and gentlemen?
44:23Preparing everything.
44:27To serve Jesus and so on.
44:30Even though it's not detailed in the Bible.
44:33But she was busy preparing the welcoming of Jesus at that time.
44:40Ladies and gentlemen, this is very interesting today.
44:43This story is very interesting because I see that one of them, Mary, was busy with Jesus.
44:52The other one, Martha, was busy with serving Jesus.
44:59Think about it. One of them was busy with Jesus and the other one was busy with serving Jesus.
45:07Think about it. It's the same. It's different.
45:13Are you busy with Jesus or busy with serving Jesus?
45:21Those are two different things, ladies and gentlemen.
45:28Jesus said that Mary took the best part that will never be taken from him.
45:34Because he knew his focus was with Jesus.
45:39Not with the things around him.
45:47Ladies and gentlemen, the events of Mary and Martha can be a reference for us today.
45:54The church of God today.
45:57The church of God today is busy with Jesus.
46:00Or busy with God's work.
46:04Ladies and gentlemen, if we are busy with Jesus, we surely will serve him well.
46:19Because our relationship with Jesus will teach us, encourage us to serve him.
46:25But if we are not busy with Jesus but busy with God's work,
46:29wherever it is, in the church or outside the church, it's not certain yet.
46:34We can do it for what? For ourselves.
46:39Our own focus. To make us comfortable.
46:43To make us successful and so on.
46:50This is an important question.
46:52Our focus is busy with Jesus.
46:58Or busy with God's work.
47:01Those are two different things.
47:03I think it's a blessing this morning.
47:06Five breads and two fish remind us again.
47:10To have a right focus in living life as a child of God.
47:16God strengthens us, God keeps us.
47:19But our main focus is to be busy with Jesus.
47:25To have a loving heart to see the people who need us.
47:32Jesus who always has power.
47:36To enable us to serve, to meet all our needs.
47:41Jesus who comes, pierces us.
47:44Farther than Jesus who only pays attention to our needs.
47:50I think God gives us the strength to do his will.
47:55Let's bow our heads and pray.
48:01We are grateful for your will that keeps strengthening us, God.
48:07No matter where we are, when we leave this church,
48:12Keep enabling each of us to live our lives as children of God in this world.
48:21We know what we are sent to in this world.
48:24We know what we are pierced for.
48:28So that your glory, your church, has an impact that can be felt from day to day by the world around us.
48:39No matter where we are.
48:41Thank you for your firmness, God.
48:43In the name of our God, Jesus Christ, we pray and thank you.
48:47Amen.
