00:007th December 1941, it was the last day of history after which the world map was going to change forever.
00:09There was going to be a disaster at the base of the US Navy, which no one had any idea about.
00:14An African-American cook in the battleship, Doris Miller, serves breakfast to the Navy officers as soon as the sun rises
00:22and then starts working on their laundry collection.
00:26At exactly 7.57 in the morning, Doris hears a siren.
00:36The siren that probably no sailor wants to hear in his service.
00:41He immediately goes out and is surprised to see that the entire sky is filled with Japanese bomber aircraft.
00:49As soon as the sun rises, it is as if a disaster has broken out on the entire naval base.
00:53Because the Japanese aircraft started destroying the American ships one by one.
00:59This attack was carried out on the Pearl Harbor base in the United States.

01:20Viewers, our interesting story begins in 1941 when America put everything at stake to save China in World War II.

01:37It happened that three years had passed since World War II started,
01:41in which Germany and Italy were on one side, while Britain, Netherlands and France were on the other side.
01:48America had no part in this war.
01:51America was completely neutral because of the losses in World War I,
01:56America wanted to keep itself completely separate from the war in Europe and Asia.
02:01But there was one country that was constantly harassing America, and that was Japan.
02:08Because Japan had less natural resources, it was occupying neighboring countries,
02:15so that it could meet the demands of its natural resources.
02:18Japan had already occupied large areas of Korea, Taiwan and China.
02:23In the Pacific Ocean, Japan also had an eye on the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.
02:29But the problem was that Malaysia was a British colony,
02:32Indonesia was a Dutch colony and the Philippines was a neutral American colony.
02:37These countries did not find it right for Japan to occupy other countries,
02:43because behind Japan was actually Hitler's hand.
02:46And Hitler was the enemy of Britain and America.
02:49Seeing these actions of Japan, in July 1941, America stopped giving oil to Japan.
02:56Japan did not have its own oil, but it imported 80% of the oil it demanded from America.
03:03America put a condition in front of it that first it would have to leave its occupation in China,
03:09then it would be given oil.
03:11This was a very difficult decision for Japan.
03:15On the one hand, if it had left its occupation in China,
03:18then the whole world would have thought that despite Hitler's support,
03:22it had kneeled before America.
03:24On the other hand, it was oil without which Japan's hold was going to weaken.
03:29Japan decided that it would not call its soldiers back from China.
03:34In fact, it made a plan inside that it would occupy Indonesia for oil,
03:39but this was not so easy.
03:42As we have already known that Indonesia was a colony of the Netherlands at that time,
03:47and to get there, it was necessary to first occupy the Philippines,
03:51which was an American colony.
03:53Japan knew very well that if it attacked the Philippines,
03:57then its retaliation would be carried out from the American naval base in the Pacific Ocean, Pearl Harbor.
04:03But because Japan was now running out of oil reserves,
04:07and they had no option but to attack.
04:12Not on the Philippines, but on Pearl Harbor.
04:15Yes, the Japanese military leader decided that he would attack the Pearl Harbor base in America
04:20and blow up the whole base.
04:23So that after that, Japan could easily take over the Philippines.
04:27Japan was now quietly preparing to attack Pearl Harbor.
04:32He started preparing his fleet,
04:35which included two battleships, 39 submarines, 30 destroyers,
04:39and surprisingly 414 bomber aircraft.
04:43These aircraft were sent to Pearl Harbor by six aircraft carriers.
04:49On the other hand, if you estimate the American force standing on Pearl Harbor,
04:53there were eight battleships, 59 anti-aircraft ships,
04:57four submarines, and 390 aircraft.
05:01If you look at it, America had a lot of forces to fail Japan's attack.
05:06But it was necessary for them to get information about this attack in advance.
05:11But Japan wanted to keep this attack a secret in every way,
05:15so the Japanese commander decided that before the attack,
05:18they would stay away from any kind of wireless communication.
05:22The force leaving Japan, after covering a distance of about 8,000 km,
05:27was now only 370 km from Pearl Harbor.
05:31And this was the point from where the aircrafts were taken off to attack.
05:37This was going to be the biggest attack of World War II,
05:40in which America was not yet included.
05:43On the morning of December 7, 1941,
05:46350 Japanese aircrafts attacked Pearl Harbor in two separate groups at 7.57.
05:54The Americans, who were completely unaware of this attack,
05:57were in a state of panic.
06:00The first group of Japanese aircrafts had rained bullets.
06:04They attacked Pearl Harbor for 45 minutes and then left.
06:09At first, it seemed that the attack was over,
06:12but after 10 minutes, the second group of bomber aircrafts came
06:15and destroyed the remaining naval base by raining bullets.
06:20This attack lasted for an hour and 15 minutes,
06:24in which Japan's flag was all over India.
06:2720 US vessels, 8 battleships and more than 300 planes were destroyed standing.
06:34The earth was covered with fire and the sky was covered with black smoke.
06:39During this time, there was an African-American sailor Doris Miller on a US battleship,
06:45which we mentioned at the beginning of the video.
06:48During the laundry collection, Doris heard a siren.
06:52Hearing this scary siren, a Japanese torpedo missile hit her ship,
06:58in which many officers, including the ship captain, were injured.
07:02Doris shifted the injured people to a safe place
07:05and then went to the anti-aircraft machine gun and attacked the Japanese aircrafts.
07:12She shot down a total of 6 Japanese planes without training,
07:16while Japan lost a total of 29 aircrafts in this attack.
07:21Doris Miller was the first African-American to be awarded the Navy Cross.
07:26This award is the largest in the US Navy,
07:28while it is the second largest in the United States after the Medal of Honor.
07:33After an hour and 15 minutes of attack, the Japanese aircrafts went back,
07:38but they had now pushed America into World War II.
07:42The same America that was not part of World War II before this attack.
07:47The next day after the attack on Pearl Harbor, America decided to teach Japan a lesson
07:53and also announced an open war against them.
07:56For the next three months, America was working on restoring its naval base.
08:02Unfortunately, many ships sank in shallow water, which was also worth repairing.
08:07Four months later, America attacked Japan as they did on Pearl Harbor.
08:13Yes, in April 1942, America dropped bombs on Japan's capital Tokyo.
08:19This was America's first attack in World War II, but after that America did not stop.
08:26For the next four years, Japan and America had a fierce battle,
08:31but now America's turn was heavy.
08:33Japan had become very weak in this war, but it was not giving up.
08:38It was not surrendering to the Americans.
08:41Finally, in August 1945, America used its last card against Japan.
08:49On August 6, 1945, at 8 am, a Boeing B-29 Super Fortress aircraft was seen over Hiroshima, Japan.
08:59This aircraft dropped a 4,400 kg bomb named Little Boy on Hiroshima.
09:06Exactly 43 seconds later, there was a powerful explosion and everything went white.
09:12After that, a fireball went from the ground to the sky,
09:16which brought the ground temperature to 5000 degrees Celsius.
09:21This was the first nuclear attack in history,
09:24which destroyed more than 80% of the buildings in Hiroshima in just a snap.
09:32The ground under the feet of Japanese military leaders had shrunk.
09:37Now they understood something else,
09:39that three days later, on August 9, America dropped a nuclear bomb on Nagasaki, Japan.
09:45This was a Mark III bomb, codenamed Fat Man.
09:50As soon as this 4,670 kg bomb fell, it wiped out the entire city.
09:57These were the two nuclear bombs that were the first and last bombs used on humans.
10:04According to one estimate, 2,60,000 people were killed in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki attacks.
10:11The next week of the attack, Japan surrendered to America,
