00:00Hey guys, welcome to our Crime and Emergency Services in Japan playlist.
00:04What you're looking at there is that white van is an Alsok van.
00:09Alsok is the name of the company and it's a bit of Japanglish, it means always security
00:14okay.
00:15Right?
00:16A Japanglish name for a security company.
00:19So the van's not armoured, usually the back part of the van is just like a delivery van
00:23but the locks on the doors are a little bit more serious.
00:26The actual front part, the cab where the guys sit is not armoured, so it's just normal glass
00:32like a normal delivery van.
00:34The guys don't carry guns, they carry either expandable batons or sometimes just a wooden
00:39baton.
00:40And these guys are actually making delivery to a couple of ATMs.
00:45So be fairly considerable, the ATMs usually have a maximum withdrawal limit of about 2
00:52million yen, which is about $20,000.
00:55So they've got some fairly hefty bags of cash there, they've got their helmets on, their
00:59stab vests and the guy's carrying an expandable baton.
01:03And they didn't really give me a second look, I was sitting in my car with the window down
01:07and a big red camera looking right at them and I don't think they even saw me, I don't
01:13think they even noticed.
01:14I mean, it's just because the crime rate in Japan is so low, gun crime is really, really
01:19rare, so fairly low risk job that one.
01:24Anyway, there was that.
01:26More videos, coming soon.
