Ground beef with onions and pickles? It has to be a recipe from the midwest. In this video, Nicole shows you how to make a Texas toast maid rite (yeah that’s the name, not Nicole being cocky). This open faced sandwich is served on garlicky Texas toast and topped with gooey melted cheddar cheese.

00:00Have you ever had a made right?
00:01A made right is a Midwestern loose meat sandwich.
00:03It's served open faced and oh so good.
00:05Start by cooking ground beef and onion
00:07until it's browned and crumbled.
00:08Then mix together beef stock with apple cider vinegar,
00:10brown sugar, Worcestershire, salt,
00:12soy sauce, mustard, and pepper.
00:14Whisk that up and deglaze the pan
00:15and let it cook down a bit.
00:17It's the garlic Texas toast base for me.
00:19Use a spoon to create a well in each piece.
00:21Spoon in the mixture, top it with cheddar cheese,
00:23and bake it till that's melted.
00:24The finishing touch, crunchy bread and butter pickles.
00:27This made right looks like one big perfect bite.
00:30Mm, it's like a more savory version of a sloppy joe.
00:34So much flavor, that garlic bread,
00:36but then the little bread and butter pickle
00:38hits just right.
