00:09The GOP candidate said he was invited there by the family of a U.S. veteran, but when
00:13an Arlington National Cemetery staffer attempted to interfere with Trump's campaign staff,
00:18she was pushed aside.
00:20Stephen Chung, Trump's campaign spokesperson, said in a statement that an unnamed individual
00:24clearly suffering from a mental health episode decided to physically block members of President
00:29Trump's team during a very solemn ceremony.
00:32Now the Army has responded, defending the Arlington Cemetery worker, writing in a statement,
00:38quote, an ANC employee who attempted to ensure adherence to these rules was abruptly pushed
00:43aside.
00:44This incident was unfortunate, and it is also unfortunate that the ANC employee and her
00:48professionalism has been unfairly attacked.
00:51The worker was attempting to prevent a campaign event from taking place in Section 60, an
00:56area known for its solemnity, where the remains of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans are buried.
01:02Federal law officially prohibits any political activity on those grounds to ensure respect
01:06for those buried.
01:08Afterwards, Trump mentioned the incident during a recent campaign event in Michigan.
01:12So I go there, they ask me to have a picture and they say I was campaigning.
01:17I don't need.
01:18The one thing I get is plenty of publicity.
01:19I don't need that.
01:20I don't need the publicity.
01:22The Associated Press reported afterwards that Trump's team was specifically warned against
01:27taking photos in Section 60 of the cemetery.
