00:00Here's to Acoustica Audio's wine!
00:15The microphone of the day is the SE Electronics SE7 Small Diaphragm Electric Condenser Microphone.
00:23Get yours today at the link below.
00:25Now, let's listen to some audio samples of Acoustica Audio's wine.
00:55Acoustica Audio's wine.
01:07Acoustica Audio's wine.
01:16Acoustica Audio's wine.
01:24Wine has a few unique features and I'm going to do a brief tutorial on each one of them
01:29starting with the Tilt EQ which is labeled as Tone on the GUI.
01:35So currently the Tone is set to 0.63 and I've set that to 0.
01:48Hear how much of a difference that made?
01:50And I don't normally use Tilt EQs.
01:52This is really the first plugin I've dived deep into using a Tilt EQ.
01:57It's very powerful.
01:58And if I eliminate the equalizer which includes the Tone knob, listen to this.
02:11The euphonic control acts as a widening effect and it sounds really, really good.
02:17Let's check it out.
02:18I have an instance of Plugin Doctor loaded up and I disabled the compressor, limiter
02:23and equalizer.
02:25Right now it is a very, very pure signal.
02:29These down here don't mean anything because if you look over here at the graph, it's not
02:33showing anything.
02:35And this is just the Tone generator to get Plugin Doctor to do something.
02:40Once I enable the preamp, then we start getting some harmonics right there.
02:47And if you watch the euphonic control, you're going to look at where, see like the baseline
02:54of where this is?
02:56Right now it's down to negative 227 decibels.
03:00But as I increase this, that baseline level goes up.
03:05With the help of the Ozone Imager plugin, specifically this area right here, the correlation
03:12meter, you're going to be able to see what the euphonic control can do to a mix.
03:24See right now the mix is pretty, it's wide, but it's not that wide.
03:46See at that point, the mix is no longer phase compatible.
03:51And so somebody were to listen to this on a mono speaker or over a PA system slash club
03:59speaker set where they might be down mixing to mono, you might have some issues there.
04:04That's why you check the mono, at least in Reaper you check it with this button right
04:08here.
04:10The recommendation is to keep this no higher than 50%, but you definitely have a phase
04:15correlation meter going while you're using the euphonic control.
04:19With this plugin, Acoustica Audio had a technological breakthrough with their preamp.
04:24Let's check out the controls.
04:25I'm going to show off the preamp in the extra Wine EQ module that you get along with the
04:32Wine suite of plugins.
04:34So this is what it looks like with the preamp off, running this through Plugin Doctor on
04:40the harmonic analysis graph.
04:42Let's enable it now.
04:45See these extra lines that appear?
04:48Those are your harmonics.
04:50Now if I slide this slider down to negative 24, watch how those lines start disappearing.
04:57If I reset it back to zero, see all those extra lines right here?
05:02And then now there's less of them.
05:05And then just the opposite, as I slowly crank this up, we get more harmonics down here.
05:12See that?
05:14Slowly crank it up.
05:22Kind of disappeared there.
05:26There we go.
05:29There we go.
05:30So that's with the harmonics fully up.
05:32And then again, down.
05:34I'll put it back to zero and enable the alive setting.
05:39See what that does?
05:41That is how a spectrum analyzer looks on real hardware.
05:46It's just got some kind of movement.
05:49And yeah, it may be imperceptible, it may be subtle, but there's other things going
05:56on.
05:57And especially if you had this cranked up higher, you're going to be able to hear it.
06:01Three other features that I really like with Wine are the Monomaker, which is perfect for
06:07vinyl mastering.
06:08Also, the limiter and the clipper sound very clean, very excellent.
06:14You can really make a loud master if you want to, although I wouldn't 100% recommend it
06:19for a variety of reasons.
06:21But if you need to, you can.
06:23Have you tried out Acoustica Audio's Wine yet on your own projects?
06:26If you have, let me know what you think about it in the comment section below.
06:30If you haven't already, I have a link in the video description box and in the pinned comment.
06:36Thank you all for watching.
06:37This has been Adam for RealHomeRecording.com.
06:41I can't swallow that because it's expired apple juice from the year 2009.
