केंद्रीय मंत्री पीयूष गोयल की संकल्पना से मुंबई से महाराष्ट्र के कोंकण जाने वाली पहली गणपति स्पेशल ट्रेन का शुभारंभ भारत सरकार के यूनियन मिनिस्टर अश्विनी वैष्णव ने ऑनलाइन हरी झंडी दिखाकर ट्रेन को रवाना किया। इस मौके पर केंद्रीय मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने बताया कि चुनाव के दौरान लोगों ने मुझे मुंबई से कोंकण के लिये स्पेशल ट्रेन की मांग की थी। लोकसभा चुनाव के तुरंत बाद हमने महाराष्ट्र के मुंबई से कोंकण जाने वालों के लिये पहली बार स्पेशल ट्रेन का सौगात दिया है। यह ट्रेन अब पूरे साल चलाई जाएगी। रेल मंत्री के अनुसार महाराष्ट्र में इस बार गणपति स्पेशल ट्रेन के तौर पर कुल 342 स्पेशल ट्रेन को हरि चलाई जा रही हैं।
