00:00And as we head into your Labor Day weekend, this is the unofficial end of summer time,
00:04but there will be a couple of storm chances.
00:05That's why as you look at our travel weather forecast for Friday, take a look at this.
00:10A majority of the country, especially the north and the west, hey, everything's going
00:13to be A-OK, good conditions.
00:15However, we're going to see that chance of showers and storms across the southern plains
00:19into the northeast.
00:20There will be some, what we're going to call, fair conditions.
00:22There could be some weather-related delays to slow you down on either the roadways or
00:26in the airways because of a few isolated shower and thunderstorm chances.
00:30This time of year, 150 to 300 average flight cancellations per day is normal, so that's
00:36right around where we're going to be here as we head into your Labor Day forecast and
00:41as we head into your Labor Day holiday.
00:43So not really expecting anything major as far as any airline delays.
00:47And as we head into your Labor Day weekend, this dip right here in the jet stream, that's
00:51going to bring some great weather across the northern plains into the Great Lakes.
00:55We're going to see some hot weather, very hot, possibly record-tying hot temperatures
00:59across the Pacific Northwest, but across the southern plains, the southeast, and the entire
01:03east coast.
01:05We will see a chance of showers and storms for both your Saturday and Sunday.
01:09But the good news is, as we head into Labor Day, great weather across the Great Lakes
01:14and the Midwest, some clearing across the east coast.
01:18However, if you live along or south of the I-40 corridor stretching from parts of New
01:24Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, all the way over to the east coast, south of that, you will
01:30see a chance of showers, even some storms on Labor Day.
01:33So make sure you pay attention to the forecast because we could see some showers and storms
01:37that could impact, especially in the outdoor plans you have.
01:40And then after that, we're going to see some refreshing air moving in.
01:44We can see lows in the 40s and 50s across the northeast.
01:47That's definitely the unofficial end of summertime.
