00:00Aside from natural and man-made attractions, another reason why the province of Camarines Norte is not far away is because of its rich flora and fauna.
00:112 out of 13 species of the world's largest and one of the most fragrant flowers can be found here.
00:20On March 27, 2007, the first 62-year-old eco-guide, Tatay Angeles, or better known as Tatay Ani, discovered Raplesia, or Corpse Flower, at Mount Ginatungan.
00:34Tatay Ani has been a guide at Mount Ginatungan for 24 years, and he has climbed down here more than 1,000 times.
00:41Eat that, Deros!
00:427 days, the color is getting darker.
00:51Did you know that Raplesia is like a human being?
00:55It takes 4 to 5 days for it to bloom.
01:06After 5 days, the color turns black.
01:11According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, or IUCN, Raplesia is critically endangered.
01:18They are already at an extremely high risk of extinction, which is why it is strictly prohibited to visit them.
01:22I protect it so that it won't disappear.
01:25Because if it disappears, in the next generations, they won't be able to see it.
01:31As long as I'm strong, as long as I can, I will climb mountains.
01:35What do you think of this trip?
