00:00in the heartland today, San Diego going to take on St. Louis Vasquez vs. Gibson, a slight
00:09favorite here for the hometown cards here to minus 118 price in a total of nine and
00:14a half. It looks like St. Louis just about going to be extinguished here from the playoffs
00:19and the Padres yesterday stole a big time game off of the Mets. What happens tonight
00:23here in St. Louis and San Diego, Tom? I don't know who wins this game, but we're gonna see
00:27some offense in this one. It's super hot in St. Louis. It's gonna be over 90 degrees.
00:31Both pitchers are just about as average. You can get Randy Vasquez, Kyle Gibson. Both have
00:35Babbitts allowed Babbitts over 300. Both strikeout rates under 22%. Gibson's on 1.19 homeruns
00:41per nine. Vasquez at 1.32. There's enough offense on both sides, obviously, mainly with
00:45the Padres. I expect some scoring tonight. It's a basically a coin flip when it comes
00:49to money line, but give me some runs tonight. I don't care who wins. I think the Padres
00:52keep rolling ultimately. Yeah, San Diego, 15 and seven in August, the cards have won
00:58their last two series against the Brewers and the Twins, but still just an even 500
01:03on the outside looking in at the National League playoff picture. Becky, let's go elsewhere
01:08around MLB on this Monday. We're calling it a potential World Series preview. Maybe two
01:15divisional front runners, the Phil's in the National League East, the Astros in the American
01:19League West. They head to the bank today in Philly. Zach Wheeler gets the start for
01:23the Phil's. They're booked as a minus 172 home money line favorite. What's your favorite
01:28play?
01:29That'd be going to Zach Wheeler under six and a half strikeouts. And I've spoken before
01:35over the past few years about Wheeler and Nola being two of the best, if not the two
01:38best pitchers in the NL, that combo. But the Astros are a really good team and the Astros
01:43are super disciplined. I said time and time again, they go super low striker rate versus
01:47raise at 18.5% since the third lowest in the league. They also very solid off to one
01:5111 WRC plus versus Friday. So ultimately I think it's a wash and I think I'll just take
01:55the under on Wheeler tonight. It's also a good hitters park as we know.
01:59So Becky, as we have 11 games on this Monday, it's because of the addition of the double
02:03header in Cleveland day, night double header. What's your best play from the two games in
02:08the land?
02:09Yeah, that's going to be Logan Allen for the guardians under four and a half strikeouts.
02:14He's got a low 19.2% strikeout rate. Royals also super disciplined versus lefties and
02:18also a 19% strike rates. The fifth lowest in the league. You know, looking back over
02:22Allen's game month, we see this one game against the giants with nine strikeouts, but he's
02:26routinely just going for three or four, maybe five on a given day. So again, siding with
02:32the under for a low strikeout picture.
