00:07Week 0 Saturday, the opening day of the 2024 college football
00:11season. And if the year in 2024 a new era in college football
00:16with all of the changes and evolutions we are seeing in the
00:20sport this year resembles Saturday slate at all. We are
00:25in for a year of chaos and in the unique sport that college
00:29football is about opportunity and opportunity. It started in
00:33the very first game of the 2024 college football campaign. The
00:38Dublin debut the all ACC affair between 10th ranked Florida
00:43State and Georgia Tech. And for the last 2 weeks, Donnie and I
00:47had told you the market was moving for the state open is
00:51nearly a 2 touchdown favorite by the time we reach kick on
00:56spread. Why? Because the jackets can cover games and not just
01:00cover as an underdog win outright. Aiden Burr, the Irish
01:06hero, a 44 yard field goal as time expires to propel Georgia
01:12Tech to an outright victory over SU 2421 in the season opener
01:19over in Ireland, Georgia Tech wins outright. The RS has a 10
01:23and a half point underdog, a total of 55 and a hook stays
01:28under over in Dublin. We'll have some fun with Florida State,
01:31you know, bashing him just a little bit, but let's focus on
01:33the game itself and what we were actually watching. And quite
01:35frank, I think just about everybody was excited for that
01:38noon kickoff. I was waiting on my couch. You know what? Let me
01:40just see this college football back on my TV. Turn it on
01:44Florida State goes right down the field like, oh my goodness,
01:47like Florida State might hang 70 against Georgia Tech in this
01:51game. And what a blowout. What an idiot I am for saying, like
01:54I'm going to take the points with the yellow jackets early in
01:56the week at 11 and a half. It looked like we were set, like
01:59Georgia Tech wasn't even going to make a stop. And quite
02:01frankly, everybody bringing up the statistics from last year,
02:03rightfully. So this team is really bad on defense and look
02:06at that, made any corrections despite getting a new defensive
02:08coordinator. But how about after that drive, like Florida State
02:11finishes that game, Ben 31 carries for 98 yards, only 3.2
02:16yards per carry, which was a tremendous correction from that
02:19first drive for Georgia Tech. And also make no mistake about
02:22this. We always start, the rankings are fun. Like, hey,
02:24these teams are in the top 25, but this is why some people
02:27like we got to wait for rankings at least till the month of
02:30October. Because if you watch this game, Ben, at no point was
02:33I going like, this is going to be a massive upset. What an
02:35upset, what an upset. I find myself going after the first
02:38drive where they countered each other, Georgia Tech's the better
02:40football team out here. And it's clear to the naked eye, more
02:43yards on the ground, better performance overall as a double
02:46digit underdog. They were the better team and deserved to win.
02:49There was no fluke in that game. Hey, late field goal, got lucky
02:52with hitting that. Absolutely not. Georgia Tech was just
02:54better, Ben.
