00:00Next up for Kilmarnock after their 2-0 defeat to FC Copenhagen
00:03and away day at an Aberdeen side with seven wins from seven games.
00:07Three wins over the Dons last season,
00:09Kelly hoping to record back-to-back wins at Pittodrie
00:12for the first time since August 2010.
00:15I throw my hands up in the air sometimes
00:19Saying hello, gotta let go
00:23Cos we gon' rock this club, we gon' rock...
00:26We're heading into the closing stages of this one.
00:29Oh, there's a mix-up, it's Hamill.
00:31And Kilmarnock have surely won it right at the end.
00:37Well, Derry McInnes wasn't too enamoured by the fixture list,
00:40sending his Kilmarnock team to his old stomping ground this weekend
00:44following their Conference League qualifier in Copenhagen
00:46less than 72 hours ago,
00:49as last season's fourth-place side look for a first point of this campaign
00:53against an Aberdeen team that's won all seven of their games so far
00:58under Jimmy Telleen.
01:00Kevin Nisbet's clearance has come through
01:02and he takes his place amongst the Aberdeen subs.
01:05Elsewhere, there's a first start for last weekend's League Cup hero
01:08Tobi Keskinen, and Slobodan Rubicic also comes in to the side,
01:12with Milne and Morris dropping to the bench.
01:14Robbie Dees and Danny Armstrong are restored to the starting XI for Kelly,
01:18with Joe Wright suspended after his red card against St Johnstone,
01:22and captain Kyle Vesels injured having come off
01:25during the second half in Denmark.
01:27David Watson was the Kelly hero the last time they were here on league business.
01:36Dees.
01:41Kelly with a point to prove today.
01:45First 4A forward for them.
01:49That's Kennedy, former Aberdeen player.
01:52A couple of them in the Kelly line-up.
01:54Armstrong's chip ball.
01:57It does take a deflection, so Kilmarnock will have the game's first corner here.
02:03A couple of optimistic shouts for a penalty there.
02:14Jack Barrow's over there at right-back for Kilmarnock,
02:17he's been caught out of position there...
02:19Oh! And Soclar was in the middle!
02:22Brilliant ball by McKenzie.
02:24Devlin in!
02:25And away by O'Hara.
02:30Well, Jack McKenzie's ball undeserved.
02:34The final touch from Soclar, which didn't ever arrive.
02:42The kind of chance Soclar needs to take.
02:44The kind of chance Mijovski used to take.
02:50And Gay's got a chance here!
02:54And perhaps in his defence, he's not expecting it.
03:07That's Keskinen.
03:09He actually prefers playing on the other side.
03:11He's a left-winger by trade.
03:14It is an area Aberdeen will be looking to strengthen.
03:17Potentially he's the right-wing position.
03:20Although he's on the left here.
03:25That's Magrath.
03:27Keskinen.
03:30The score last week was excellent.
03:32Swivel the shot, everything he would have wanted,
03:35and on his debut as well.
03:38He's off target this time.
03:40In about the same area from where he scored last week.
03:44Magrath draws Aberdeen's first corner of the afternoon.
03:54A bit of movement from Soclar there.
03:56He was trying to get his head on it!
04:00And Keskinen must have thought he was putting Aberdeen in front there.
04:08He's got it.
04:09He's got Aberdeen in front there.
04:16Magrath's delivery was decent.
04:20And the block...
04:23is just enough.
04:24Shinnie.
04:37Shinnie.
04:42He's looking for McKenzie, he's found him as well.
04:46Here's Keskinen.
04:50Shinnie.
04:52Papike!
04:55KESKINEN!
05:00Aberdeen make the breakthrough!
05:06And it's been coming just these last five or ten minutes.
05:13As is tradition, Jimmy Telleen.
05:17High-fives everyone else on the bench,
05:19Johara shakes his head.
05:22And Papike celebrates his second Aberdeen goal.
05:28He was taken off at half-time during the cup tie last week,
05:31he was in a yellow, that was the main reason.
05:33He's taken this well.
05:35Shinnie's cross, a bullet header.
05:42All these new signings, all this hope for Aberdeen,
05:44and it's one of the players who failed to really
05:48grasp his opportunity here last season.
05:53Who's given them the lead as they look to make it
05:55eight successive wins at the start of the campaign.
06:001-0 Aberdeen.
06:14Another great touch by Lyons.
06:17And the ref's gonna have to go to his pocket, it's yellow.
06:22Foul on Soklaar.
06:24Andy McDiarmid.
06:27Says yellow only.
06:31Doesn't look great.
06:37Well, well.
06:38He wants to see it, Nick Walsh obviously thinks this is worthy of red.
06:43Didn't look great in real time.
06:52Well, he got the studs down quickly enough here, Brad Lyons.
06:57And you see it from that angle.
07:02You can understand why Nick Walsh is advising
07:04Matthew McDiarmid to have another look at it.
07:08But it is Kilmarnock's idea.
07:11But is Kilmarnock's afternoon gonna go from bad to worse here?
07:18Matthew McDiarmid has seen plenty of replays,
07:22he's gonna reverse his decision and Kilmarnock are gonna go down to ten.
07:29And Kilmarnock's task just got a whole lot harder.
07:38It did not look good.
07:41It did not look good.
07:47Ref going the way of McGrath.
07:49Here's McKenzie.
07:51Early ball!
07:52And skied by Soklaar.
07:55Well, he's got to start taking those.
07:58Barely a game goes by...
08:01when an opportunity like that is not presented to Esther Soklaar.
08:05Trying to fill Bojan Mijovski's boots
08:07and he's got the added threat of Kevin Misfit on the bench today.
08:12Jimmy Tilleen would like Aberdeen to score a second, pretty sharpish.
08:16And put the game to bed.
08:18And Pappy Gay did well.
08:23A few claims for a handball in the box there.
08:32As ever, it's McGrath.
08:37Good delivery as well!
08:39And Pappy Gay doubles up!
08:45He's making an impression at long last.
08:50That lone spell in Norway last term.
08:53Here comes the dance again.
08:55He's got both.
08:57That's a well-taken header too.
09:02And that should do for Kilmarnock, you would imagine.
09:05And Aberdeen are heading for an eighth successive victory.
09:11Already their best ever start to a season in terms of wins.
09:19Changes for Aberdeen and a debut coming up for Kevin Misfit.
09:24Still but a year after leaving Hibernian.
09:28He arrived at the club yesterday on loan from Millwall.
09:32Pappy Gay, who's got both goals for the Dons.
09:36It's a standing ovation from much of Petardrey.
09:40And home comes Kevin Misfit, the new number nine.
09:44This has been a very comfortable afternoon for the Dons.
09:49Throwing over 60 per cent at the ball.
09:542-0 up.
09:55And McGrath!
09:57Too far away from making it three.
09:59Too far away from making it three.
10:16That's it.
10:18It took Aberdeen six matchdays to pick up a victory in the Premiership last season.
10:23Jimmy Delene's racked up three of them.
10:26Eight all told at the start of his stewardship at Petardrey.
10:32They remain 100 per cent.
10:34Pappy Gay with two headers and two goals.
10:37And they've consigned Kilmarnock to a third straight loss at the start of this season.
10:44They've got it all to do on Thursday against Copenhagen as well.
10:49Not a lot wrong at Petardrey right now.
10:52It finishes Aberdeen two.
10:53Ten man Kilmarnock nil.
10:58I'm happy. I'm happy with everyone's support at Aberdeen today.
11:03And it was a good atmosphere again at Petardrey.
11:05And how the players are fighting for each other out there.
11:09It's a tough game, but how we stick together and try to improve every game.
11:14And compete really, really well together.
11:16The team is growing and also more and more players contribute to the team.
11:20And how they perform when they come into the pitch.
11:23And we can see it on the training session.
11:25Everybody's more catching up the ideas.
11:28And we grow as a team. That's good.
11:31I thought Aberdeen were better than us that opening 25 minutes period.
11:35I thought they moved the ball well.
11:37We were a wee bit in between in terms of getting after them in the press.
11:41And I thought we would start the second half.
11:43I thought we were making sure Aberdeen weren't getting it all their own way.
11:46And I thought we were better in that part of it.
11:48But the game changes when you're going up to 10 men again.
11:51And it's all about plugging holes.
11:53I actually think Brad's challenge passed the ball.
11:56And his foot hasn't touched him.
11:58Sockler's touched the ball.
12:00And it's actually the inside of Brad's thigh that's carried into the boy.
12:03And I think it's a yellow card.
12:05The boy's no hurt. He's no rolling about.
12:08I think it's a yellow card.
12:10Eight wins out of eight for Jimmy Tilleen's Aberdeen.
12:14Hugely impressive.
12:15And Neil McCann.
12:17What a day for Papi Gay.
12:19Yeah, he was a handful to say the least.
12:22Listen, as Derek's saying there,
12:24we're going to pick him up because he said that he sort of runs off the midfielder.
12:27And that's where it comes from.
12:29And it's young David Watson it has him.
12:31Which is going to be a mismatch if the ball's in the air.
12:33But he's actually got a hold of him here.
12:35He's tracking him really well.
12:37But there's a small change in the middle of those three centre-backs.
12:39You can see that Sockler's there.
12:41Stuart Findlay needs to just stay in his slot.
12:43He gets dragged to the ball.
12:45Picks it up. Engages.
12:47Runs in there. Runs off the back of David Watson.
12:49Super ball from Shinny. Not enough pressure.
12:51Derek's right in that one.
12:53But look at this here.
12:55Kennedy's telling Robbie Dees,
12:57you must pick up Devlin.
12:59So that sidetracks Robbie Dees' concentration.
13:01He opens up towards us here.
13:03Findlay gets dragged there. Creates a space.
13:05And that's a mismatch right there.
13:07But I have to say, it's a brilliant header.
13:09And you've signed him Barry. You know the boy well.
13:11Yeah, well he's a handful here.
13:13You think Robbie Dees makes a bit of a mistake here.
13:15But see that? See the flatness of that ball?
13:17That's a great ball.
13:19It's really hard to defend.
13:21And Big Papi does well there by sticking it in.
13:23He just needs a run of games.
13:25Obviously when we were there, we had Bojan Mijovski playing.
13:28And it was hard for him to get in the side.
13:30But you see now he's in a run of games.
13:32He's a real handful.
13:34He's one of them.
13:36It's a bit awkward to play against.
13:38You don't know if the ball's going to bounce about.
13:40Where he's going to come.
13:42But for me, I think when you see him,
13:43you'll grow into the team.
13:45And you'll get better and stronger and stronger.
13:47And a real cult hero I think he'll become there.
13:49That's the way we saw him going to be.
13:51I'm so pleased for him because he works really hard.
13:53He worked really hard in training.
13:55He was a good kid.
13:57Joint top scorer in the league with Surreal Deserts at this moment in time.
13:59Early days of course.
14:01They have a tired performance probably overall from Kalmanic.
14:03Understandable given their European exertions.
14:05Big moment in the match obviously.
14:07The sending off of Brad Lyons.
14:09What were your views?
14:11I think the referee gets it right first time Jonathan.
14:13Probably Derek McInnes.
14:15Brad Lyons takes a heavy touch.
14:17He is committed.
14:19And I think on field, the referee gets this one right.
14:23He does dive in.
14:25But for me, there's no stamp.
14:27There's no leg breaking.
14:29He does make contact.
14:31He does go over it but it's mistimed.
14:33And Soklar gets there.
14:35I don't want to see that.
14:37You show a still to me every single time.
14:39That looks like a leg breaker.
14:41It looks intentional.
14:43It's a motion.
14:45And I think that's a really difficult thing for a referee then to go and look at.
14:48And not see that as a red card.
14:50But we must see it in its movement.
14:52And I think he got it right.
14:54When he's dragged over to VAR.
14:56We all know what's happening.
14:58You think about last week when we had the Dundee game.
15:00If you remember Gerald Taylor.
15:02He had a horrendous challenge out on the line.
15:04Yellow card.
15:06That slowed down and still Jonathan, that's a red card.
15:08It's the inconsistencies but I think the referee got it on field right.
15:11It is high Barry.
15:13You talk about stills.
15:15You have to take the whole picture into the game.
15:18The referee is involved in the game.
15:20He's right there.
15:22He's in the emotion of the game.
15:24And he's seen it in real life at the speed of what was happening.
15:26And it's always subjective.
15:28He's close, he's there.
15:30When you see a player going in and it's that aggression.
15:32You've seen their feet and they're going in.
15:34And it's like that.
15:36I'm saying red card.
15:38I'm not so sure he was really going in to help.
15:40He's kind of half pulled out in the end.
15:41And you're right, these stills.
15:43You can make any challenge look poor.
15:46You can, you can make any challenge look poor.
15:48Listen, it's not a great tackle either.
15:50But I didn't think it merited a red.
15:52I thought it was just a bit short of a red for me.
15:54Quick word about Kevin Nisbet.
15:56Obviously arrived on loan from Millwall.
15:5827 years of age.
16:00Will he fill the boots of Bojan Mijovski for you Barry?
16:03Yeah, I think he's a real good signing.
16:05We were looking at him a good bit there before Bojan left.
16:09I know the club were.
16:11He's a good player.
16:13Listen, he's a man.
16:15He's 27 years old.
16:17He should lead the line well.
16:19He's proven in the Scottish League.
16:21So for me, he's one of them players you look at and you think,
16:23yep, he ticks every single box.
16:25I'm sure a club the size of Aberdeen will suit him.
16:28And I think it's a good business for Aberdeen.
16:30I really like it Barry.
16:32I mean, I think Nisbet has shown that he's well capable
16:34of scoring lots of goals here.
16:36Stretching defences.
16:38I think his game's really improved in terms of holding it in.
16:39He, of course, suffered a really bad injury.
16:41It kept him out for a long time with his knee.
16:43But when he comes back, the good thing about that,
16:45as Jimmy's done, is by a player, as Barry's said,
16:47that knows the league.
16:49That's so important because he doesn't need to wait in time
16:51from getting up to the speed of the game
16:53or getting used to how physical it is.
16:55He knows it inside out and he's been a relative success here.
16:58It's really the first time we've had a chance to speak to you Barry
17:00since you parted company obviously with Aberdeen in January.
17:04And what a rollercoaster it was getting them into third place.
17:06Obviously, fantastic group stage in terms of European football as well.
17:11The League Cup final.
17:13Obviously, it was kind of the league form,
17:15the league position that kind of did for you in the end.
17:18Seven months on to reflect on it.
17:20How would you sum it up?
17:22I think, listen, it was a brilliant time.
17:24I loved it.
17:26Great club and I still love the club.
17:28I love everybody at the club.
17:30As you said, the things we achieved,
17:32where we took the fans back into Europe
17:34and the group stages
17:36and the finals, it was great.
17:38It was a really good, really good time
17:40and we're proud of the work we've done there.
17:42But I think what you're seeing here with Kilmarnock today,
17:45with St Mirren, Hearts,
17:47they're all in Europe right now
17:49and they're finding it really difficult.
17:51And we had to go through a lot of that
17:54for the whole time we were at Aberdeen
17:56which was where we wanted to be.
17:58But it is hard. It is difficult.
18:00When we were there, we obviously had to try and build a new team
18:03as going into that.
18:04How was that affected?
18:06And not just that.
18:08I think it's always easy.
18:10Not easy.
18:12It's easier coming in from the Monday to the Thursday game.
18:14But see the Thursday to the Sunday,
18:16that's the difficulty.
18:18And you've seen that with Kilmarnock today.
18:20I think Derek McInnes is an unbelievable manager.
18:22He's done really well.
18:24But his team looked tired today.
18:26They really did and I understand that.
18:28They've had to come back from Copenhagen.
18:30They've had to arrive back.
18:32Then they have to drive up to Aberdeen.
18:34It's been five months.
18:36I think we played 32 games before Christmas.
18:38And people have got to understand that.
18:40I think the league have got to understand that.
18:42And I can see the arguments with everybody just now
18:44about how do we help the Scottish teams more.
18:46We should try and find a way for all of us.
18:49For St Mirren, for Hearts, for Kilmarnock.
18:52Because I think it's great having the Scottish teams in Europe.
18:55It certainly is.
18:5741 years since Hearts had started the season
18:59without winning any of their first five matches.
19:01Victory at Motherwell.
19:02Required to avoid equaling that unwanted record.
19:05Commentary comes from Andrew Petrie.
19:32He was missing off the bench last weekend.
19:34Ewan Wilson moves to left wing-back
19:36and Leonard Miller starts in midfield.
19:38He turns 18 today.
19:41Hearts hand a debut to Colombian full-back Andres Salazar.
19:45While Blair Spittel returns to his former haunting ground.
19:48Alan Forrest and Jan Danda are also back into the starting 11.
19:55They don't cease to hate it here.
19:57But they've won two of the last three at Fairpark.
19:59They'll come out on top today.
20:0213 extra.
20:11Spittel makes a poor pass.
20:13It's easily picked off by Gordon.
20:15Passing in.
20:17Maswanise picks up onto his right foot.
20:19Shoots and it's blocked.
20:21Over the bar and Stephen Kingsley celebrates.
20:24A fast start to this game.
20:26It's Maswanise, Zimbabwean international.
20:29Good composure to get it back onto his right.
20:34Leonard Miller.
20:36Birthday boy.
20:38Passes in.
20:40Oh, Dan Casey.
20:42He has his head in his hands.
20:44Because that was a huge opportunity for Motherwell.
20:47He just ghosted in unmarked.
20:49And planted his header wide.
20:52Maybe Frankie Kent puts him off.
20:54Stuart Kettlewell, impressed with the start his Motherwell side have made.
21:01Forrest, nice pass to Danda.
21:03Goes back to the right-hand side.
21:05Shankland, find a pass.
21:07And it's easily put out.
21:13Back out to Shankland.
21:15And the creator crosses in.
21:17Comes to Salazar at the back post.
21:19Drives!
21:21And it's blocked and behind.
21:22Almost a dream debut.
21:24For the Colombian international.
21:27Salazar making his first start for Hearts.
21:31Just wide.
21:37Stravkovski.
21:39To Stephen O'Donnell.
21:42That's not a bad ball in from Stephen O'Donnell.
21:45I think he was winding up there.
21:47But he gets the cross in.
21:49And Motherwell keep it alive.
21:51Wilson.
21:53Back to Masvanese.
21:55He crosses.
21:57O'Donnell keeps it in.
21:59Oh, it's headed.
22:01Headed off the line by Craig Gordon.
22:03I think it's Andy Halliday in there.
22:06Almost scoring against his former club.
22:09It was well kept alive by Stephen O'Donnell.
22:12And I don't know how much Craig Gordon has to say about that.
22:14He's a man known for producing special saves.
22:18That was pretty instinctive though.
22:24Salazar just throws that throw in.
22:26And will win it back.
22:28Robinson.
22:30Fouled by Kai Rose.
22:33He doesn't agree with that decision from John Beaton.
22:36Another chance for Motherwell to test this Hearts backline.
22:40And it's back.
22:41Another chance for Motherwell to test this Hearts backline.
22:44Which has looked a bit shaky in the early stages.
22:49Miller and Halliday stand over it.
22:55Halliday leaves.
22:57Miller curls in.
22:59McGinn's free at the back.
23:01Post!
23:03And Paul McGinn gives Motherwell the lead.
23:06And that looked oh so easy for the hosts.
23:11He just completely ghosts in.
23:14The Hearts marking.
23:16Non-existent really.
23:19And McGinn just buries that header into the bottom corner.
23:25It's been some first half display from Motherwell so far.
23:28He's looked really impressive.
23:30Lennon Miller's won the ball from Kai Rose.
23:33He's into the box.
23:35Strong tackle from Frankie Kent.
23:37And O'Donnell wins it.
23:39A little step over as well from O'Donnell.
23:42Miller takes it down.
23:44Stravkovski.
23:46Motherwell locking on the door.
23:48Can they forge another opportunity?
23:50Mazmanisi lovely touch away from Taylor.
23:53He curls and Gordon tips over the bar.
23:57That's a brilliant display so far from Motherwell.
24:00But you can see the fury from the Hearts fans behind the goal.
24:03They're not happy with their side's performance.
24:08Danda.
24:10Slips in Taylor.
24:12Drives it low.
24:15Comes all the way across to Salazar.
24:18There's opportunity now to curl.
24:20It's not a great header from Dan Casey.
24:22The chance still alive.
24:24Blair-Spittle's in there off the line.
24:26I think it's Ewan Wilson doing his defensive duties.
24:31Panhart work it back in.
24:33Danda curls.
24:35And this time Liam Gordon plants his header away from danger.
24:40Blair-Spittle.
24:42Almost coming back to haunt Motherwell there.
24:47He was instrumental for them last season.
24:50He does well anticipating the bounce of the ball.
24:53But it's off the line.
24:58Miller.
25:00Set piece delivery.
25:02It's not really dealt with by Hearts.
25:03Tony Watts!
25:05Well saved Craig Gordon.
25:07Tony Watts only just on.
25:10Replacing Andy Halliday.
25:13He did have a short spell at Tyne Castle.
25:17Almost scored there against his former club.
25:20Really caught that.
25:22Good save in the end from Gordon.
25:27Liam Gordon.
25:28Back to O'Donnell.
25:30Fitted delivery is a good one.
25:32Kingsley does well.
25:34Cammy Devlin.
25:37Took his time there.
25:39And Vargas concedes possession.
25:42Wilson.
25:43That's a foul.
25:45Cammy Devlin's only just on.
25:47He's already into John Beaton's little black book.
25:54Miller.
25:56Comes to the back post.
25:57O'Donnell's there!
26:00Stephen O'Donnell makes it two!
26:02Motherwell are cruising it for a park.
26:08He just holds off Kyroles.
26:11And plants that header past Craig Gordon.
26:14It's another set piece goal.
26:17That Motherwell take full advantage of.
26:23Malakai Boateng.
26:26One of the five summer signings in the Hearts starting XI.
26:29It looks like Motherwell's new additions have gelled a little quicker.
26:35Down the line for Vargas.
26:38Inside.
26:40Shankland.
26:43He's done well to get the ball out of his feet.
26:45Shankland.
26:46Here's O'Donnell!
26:48Hearts have one back.
26:52Well they'd barely threatened all afternoon.
26:55But you tell me,
26:56has given Hearts a lifeline.
26:57They're right back in this now.
27:00And can the visitors swing the momentum their way.
27:04Find an equaliser.
27:06And somehow take something home from Lanarkshire.
27:12O'Donnell.
27:13The difference he's made since coming on.
27:17Vargas.
27:18Out to Barry Mackay.
27:20Another second half sub.
27:23O'Donnell.
27:24Second half sub.
27:26Tries on the left.
27:27Shankland's there.
27:29And he just couldn't get that ball under his control.
27:34Fizzed in to the Scotland striker who's still without a goal this season.
27:41He was just never getting to grips with that.
27:48Some Hearts fans heading for the exit there behind Aston Oxburgh.
27:52No goal behind though.
27:55Still time for them to get something from this game is Salazar.
27:58That's a poor back pass and Sparrow's there!
28:04And surely that's the killer blow.
28:07And it comes from Tom Sparrow.
28:13He just flights in in front of Cairos.
28:16It's a mistake from the debutant Andre Salazar.
28:21Never put enough on that.
28:23And Hearts have created their own downfall.
28:34Hearts find some way back into this match.
28:37It's surely getting too late now as Salazar tries to find Shankland.
28:43Devlin.
28:45Nods it down. Shankland gets the shot away.
28:48Only Devlin wanted a free kick on the edge of the area.
28:52Nothing is coming.
28:54And that is surely the last chance for Hearts to try desperately to claw something back.
29:05Devlin.
29:09Stephen Kingsley's moved to right back in this second half.
29:15Desperate to shift it back onto that stronger left foot.
29:19Finds Shankland.
29:22Steve Seddon just pumps the ball long.
29:25Tony Watt chases after it.
29:29The final throws of this now as John Deacon looks at his watch and pulls his whistle.
29:37And that's that for Hearts.
29:39And for Motherwell.
29:40A first league win of the season for Stuart Kettlewell.
29:43A thoroughly deserved one as well.
29:46Goals from Paul McGinn and Stephen O'Donnell.
29:49Unlikely sources.
29:51As well as one for Tom Sparrow.
29:53They always look like winning this game.
29:56It finishes at Fir Park.
29:58Motherwell 3, Hearts 1.
30:01It was very much a Motherwell performance and I want to rubber stamp that.
30:06Because that's what we have to be.
30:08Especially here at home.
30:10Make it a difficult place for Emdy to come.
30:12But I thought our energy was great.
30:14I thought we got a real good lift because we stepped on the front foot in the game.
30:17I thought we carved out some real good chances.
30:19And I thought we were unbelievably comfortable defensively.
30:22Up until the point that we conceded the goal.
30:24And then there's a little bit of nervous energy.
30:25Around about the place.
30:27We probably collapsed a wee bit towards our box.
30:29But delighted that we came again in the game.
30:31And we finished it strong.
30:33I think the story of the game for us was in both boxes.
30:36It wasn't good enough.
30:38The goals we've conceded again today are really poor.
30:41I think every goal that we've conceded this season.
30:44We've had a helping hand in giving the opposition.
30:47And then today especially.
30:49I felt that final ball.
30:51That final pass.
30:52Or the shot.
30:54The execution of it.
30:56Wasn't at the level to cause Motherwell problems.
30:58But when you can see what goals we are.
31:00At times of the game.
31:02You're making it a really difficult task to get back into it.
31:05Tough day for Hearts.
31:07Fantastic result from Motherwell.
31:10How impressed Neil were you by Motherwell?
31:12Especially as an attacking force.
31:14Yeah I thought they were really good today.
31:16I think Motherwell know exactly who they are.
31:18Under Stewart.
31:19And they said that today.
31:21That performance was everything of what they want to be.
31:23They know their shape.
31:25They know their structure.
31:27They've had to deal with the loss of Spittle.
31:29And Theo Bear.
31:31Two hugely influential players to them last season.
31:34And very important.
31:36And I think they've had to adjust to that.
31:38But today was a brilliant result for them.
31:40I have to say.
31:42Helped along the way with really poor defending.
31:44And bad mistakes from Hearts.
31:46Let's take a look at that right now.
31:48Motherwell certainly knew what they were doing from set pieces.
31:51Yeah look Gerard Taylor's at the back here.
31:53He should just drop and just defend the ball when it comes into his area.
31:57But he's so focused on Steven O'Donnell.
31:59He doesn't know Paul McGinn's round the back.
32:01And that's a brilliant header.
32:03Fantastic delivery.
32:05But if you're Zonal marking.
32:07You have to just go.
32:09He just goes.
32:11He stops.
32:13He thinks I've done my job.
32:15You haven't.
32:17He's circling Kai Rose.
32:19Because when this ball comes in it looks like he's been done.
32:21I'm going to forgive him here.
32:23Because there's one man it's to blame.
32:25And it's Salazar.
32:27He breaks the line.
32:29He goes deep.
32:31And then he drops.
32:33And then he stops.
32:35Because he stops.
32:37Steven O'Donnell can step offside.
32:39He gets goal side ahead of Kai Rose.
32:41And there's no recovery time.
32:43So all day long.
32:45I just thought that Hearts were a bit all over the place.
32:47Brilliant point back to Tyne Castle.
32:49We're an individual error.
32:51These individual errors cost goals.
32:53Take points away from you.
32:55But I think Hearts need to be a wee bit like Muddle.
32:57In terms of know who they are.
32:59Find an identity.
33:01First of all I think we need to get Lauren Shanklin through the middle.
33:03Jonathan.
33:05We need to get a focal point.
33:07The day they said they defended really well.
33:09They didn't have to defend all that well.
33:11Because at times with ten men.
33:13And they won half of Hearts.
33:15So they need to get Shanklin back to the middle again.
33:17And find a way to get Spittle and Danda into the sides.
33:19Because they could be really creative for him.
33:21We have to talk about Lennon Miller.
33:23Happy birthday Lennon.
33:2518 years old.
33:27You can finally enjoy that Man of the Match champagne.
33:29Which you will presumably get many times this season.
33:31Barry.
33:33How much potential has this young man got?
33:35You can see there the ability.
33:37That cheekiness of him.
33:39The guile.
33:41And you can also see his deliveries.
33:43Now the biggest thing I see in him.
33:45He's playing with men.
33:47He's a young kid.
33:49Who's trying to chase going to England.
33:51Getting lost down there.
33:53Where the big money pit is.
33:55Maturity.
33:57He's learning on the job.
33:59And he's learning with a decent club.
34:01And he's learning how to play the game.
34:03Rather than all these young players.
34:05Just wanting to disappear down there.
34:07No.
34:09He's in it.
34:11He's in the thick of it.
34:13And you'll learn more now doing this.
34:15Than any of these.
34:17Thank you very much indeed.
34:19Tonight the William Hill Premiership table looks like this.
34:21Celtic top on goal difference from Aberdeen.
34:23Both sides on nine points.
34:25Rangers third on seven.
34:27At the bottom a tough start to the season for the capital clubs.
34:29Even tougher on Kilmarnock.
34:31Zero points from three games.
34:33And a tough summer for all of us.
34:35But here's the thing.
34:37The football array of sunshine through the rain.
34:39Thanks for watching from all of us on the Sports Scene team.
34:41Goodnight.
