It’s 9am on a Saturday morning and while I’d usually be tucked up in bed at this time, I’m queueing for a slice of chocolate cake in the rain.

But this is not just any sweet treat. It's 24 layers of cake and milk and dark chocolate ganache weighing over 1kg per slice.

Created by the viral Leeds based bakery Get Baked who previously caused a buzz on social media for their now retired ‘Bruce’ cake, the new ‘Bertha’ offering is just as chocolaty and tall.

00:00It's 9am on a Saturday morning, and while I'd usually be tucked up in bed at this time,
00:05I'm queuing for a slice of cake in the rain.
00:08But this is not just any cake.
00:10Viral Leeds-based bakery Get Baked has taken over London's iconic Fortnum and Mason,
00:15bringing its 24-layer chocolate cake to the capital.
00:19Arriving at 9am, a long line had already formed down the street.
00:23I soon began to regret not bringing an umbrella as the rain started getting heavier.
00:28It wasn't until 9.45 that I would reach the entrance,
00:31but once inside, I soon got my slice of Werther chocolate cake.
00:35In fact, the stall was fully prepared,
00:37as bags of their chocolatey offering were ready to go for those who braved the rain in the queue.
00:44So, was it worth it?
00:45Yes, although I may need some help finishing it off.
