00:00It is my privilege to speak today on behalf of Merseyside Police, North West
00:04Ambulance Service and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service whilst honouring the
00:09life of your daughter Elsie. I know you've been deeply moved by the
00:14unwavering support of the emergency services who responded with
00:18professionalism, compassion and care and I want to thank you for letting us be
00:23part of Elsie's special day. We all feel extremely privileged to celebrate her
00:29life with you and pay our respects. I know you also want me to thank and
00:35extend those thanks to all the emergency services who looked after all the girls
00:39affected by this incident. No words can adequately capture the depth of pain and
00:46loss felt by yourselves but you've shown extraordinary strength and grace. Despite
00:52the overwhelming sadness that has filled your days you have found the courage to
00:56personally visit and express your gratitude to those who have stood by you
01:00in your darkest hour. The outpouring of love and support from the community of
01:06Southport and those around you has been overwhelming. I'm sure in a time of such
01:12great sorrow the resolve and spirit of this community has provided a source of
01:17comfort and reassurance. Through the many acts of kindness and solidarity it is
01:24evident that Southport is not just a place, it is your home and it will
01:30forever be Elsie's home. I hope the warmth and care shown by neighbours,
01:35friends and the emergency services reminds you that you and your extended
01:41family are not alone. Elsie, Bebe and Alice will be forever in our hearts.
