Summer camp for young people with disabilities returns to Lake Balaton

The camp aims to bring disabled and non-disabled people together to have fun and to show youngsters how hard it can be living in a wheelchair.

00:00A mobile ramp, a giant swim belt and two helping hands. That's all it takes to enjoy the summer
00:07in Balaton, even for those who live their whole life in a wheelchair.
00:13After a four-year break, the Murti's charity service has held its five-day youth camp,
00:19in which 105 people with physical disabilities participated in, each with a volunteer by
00:26their side.
00:27We are in the Balaton Riviera, so we can come here, there is a swimming programme, we take
00:31them out to the water, now while we are talking, they are swimming, some of them are on the
00:35beach, this is the first time for many people, when they get close to the water and go out
00:41to the water.
00:43The campers could enjoy a sports exhibition featuring para-athletes, alongside a fun fair
00:49with bull riding, skill games and target shooting.
00:54They could even race cars with their minds. For Richard, this is his sixth camp. He says
01:00the most important thing is that there are no barriers and anyone can make friends here.
01:16Young people can finally party together. During the day, they sing retro hits on the sailboat
01:22and in the evening, they can have a beer or two during the concerts.
