00:00We think that this Waqf Bill is objectionable in many ways.
00:09There are three major points.
00:12First of all, it is a clear violation of religious rights.
00:16It is a clear violation of the freedom of religious groups in India to practice their religion.
00:24Waqf is a religious institution.
00:27Just like the Gurudwara committee is a religious institution.
00:30Just like the trust of a temple is a religious institution.
00:34Similarly, Waqf Board is also a religious institution of Muslims.
00:37In this, the government will intervene more than the limit
00:41and will try to impose its will against the laws, religious laws and religious values of Muslims.
00:50So this is a clear violation of religious rights.
00:54Secondly, there is over-centralization in this.
00:59Obviously, for any democracy to work, independent institutions, autonomous institutions are necessary.
01:07Everything cannot be given in the power of the collector and in the power of the government.
01:11Waqf Board is also a semi-autonomous institution.
01:14Its autonomy should remain.
01:16If you give all its powers to the collector and the government, then this will not be called democracy.
01:21Thirdly, the internal democracy of the Waqf Board has been abolished.
01:27Where there was talk of elections, the nomination was removed.
01:31The state government will nominate, the central government will nominate.
01:34So obviously, our country is a democracy.
01:37So if you talk about nominating the government, democracy will not work.
01:41So these three things we understand are dangerous for the country.
01:46And the matter is not limited to Waqf Board.
01:48It represents the entire thinking and direction of the government.
01:52So every group should go ahead and oppose it.
01:55These are slogans.
01:57There will be a difference between slogans and reality.
02:01You read the Waqf Act yourself.
02:03Where is it written in the Waqf Act, or what provision is there,
02:07in the bill that has been brought, what provision is there,
02:10through which illegal seizures can be removed.
02:13These are slogans that are being raised for public consumption and media consumption.
02:18Whereas the intent and dynamics of the bill are completely opposite.
