00:00Authorities are watching the two establishments in Quezon City that were visited by a patient who tested positive for monkey pox or m-pox.
00:08According to the QC Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, on August 8, a 33-year-old patient from Metro Manila passed away.
00:18On August 11, he went to a spa on Rodriguez Avenue. On August 15, he went to a dermatology clinic.
00:27According to Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, the doctor saw a skin lesion on different parts of his body.
00:33This Sunday, he tested positive for m-pox.
00:37There were 41 close contacts, 10 employees of the spa, 27 clients of the spa and 4 possible relatives of the patient.
00:4728 of them had a high chance of contracting the disease so they were quarantined until September 1.
00:53The spa on Rodriguez Avenue, which was visited by a patient, was closed by the Quezon City LGU after learning that the business permit was expired.
01:02According to the Department of Health, a clade 2 variant was detected in the country.
