00:00The U.S. and Australia share a deep love of sports and enjoy a
00:29long history of friendly athletic competition. The competition makes us
00:35both better. We saw that in the swimming pool a few weeks ago as Katie Ledecky and
00:40Ariadne Titmuss battled it out in Paris. The U.S. and Australia welcome each
00:46other's athletes. Americans play in professional leagues across Australia.
00:50Even in sports we don't really play in the U.S. That's a shout out to Mason Cox
00:55who helped Collinswood win the Premiership last year. And there is a
00:59well-worn path to U.S. universities for many of Australia's top athletes with
01:05more than 40 of these student-athletes representing Australia in Paris. And
01:10Australians have also excelled at those traditional American sports including
01:15Sydney's Travis Bazzana who earlier this year was the first Australian to be
01:19picked first overall in the Major League Baseball draft.
