Denver Broncos Name Bo Nix as Starting Quarterback for Week 1

00:15what? Well, how about this? Breaking news, the Denver Broncos have officially named Bo Nix the
00:21starting quarterback for week one. Good. Who is their, just in terms of their roster, they had
00:28Zach Wilson that they'd gotten from the Jets, and there was a third quarterback, I'm trying to,
00:32it's not coming. I thought it was Stenum. Was it, was it? Jared Stenum and Zach Wilson. Okay,
00:37so, so did they say not only that Bo Nix is the starter, did they say that, which of the two of
00:44them? I don't got a depth chart other than, I don't have, the breaking news is that Bo Nix is
00:47the starter. The reason I ask is only this, because if Zach Wilson were to get cut, I'm just,
00:52and I don't know which one they're going to keep as a backup. I personally would probably,
00:56I probably would keep Zach Wilson. I would keep Jared Stenum. What has Jared Stenum done? I mean,
01:01like, I only know Zach Wilson because he was such a character last year with, you know, with, with
01:06Aaron Rodgers going out and, you know, Wilson having to play and then kind of being benched
01:10and then back in. So what has Jared Stenum done? Stenum, Stenum has been with New England. Stenum
01:14has been with the Raiders. Stenum was with Denver last year as a career in the four years,
01:19101,422 passing yards, eight touchdowns, eight interceptions. Yeah. So I'm keeping Stenum for
01:25this reason. Now I have a, I have a guy who's number one for me. Now I need somebody who's
01:31been around a league to help teach him and to help be in the room to support him. I don't want,
01:36at this point, I don't want somebody competing with him because the competition is now over.
01:41Having Zach Wilson in that room, Zach Wilson wants to play. Zach Wilson wants an opportunity.
01:47Yeah. Well, but tough. I mean, I, I, I might consider, I might consider Zach Wilson just
01:52because he's been around Aaron Rodgers. Um, and I kind of always help you. No, but I'm saying like,
01:58Hey, he did work under the best of the generation. And so maybe, and I don't think there's a need to
02:08cut any of them unless Zach Wilson's like, yo, I want to, I want to play. So get me out of here.
02:11I pushed back on him working with Aaron Rodgers because one, it wasn't a plain version of Aaron
02:19Rodgers. It was a non-playing version of Aaron Rodgers. And we know if he was even around,
02:25not sure. So what did he really learn? I think the Broncos are doing the right thing. And I think,
02:29honestly, I, they don't have a Jacoby preset, right? They, you know what I mean? They don't
02:35have a Sam Darnold. They don't have a guy that's been around. Right. So they're doing the right
02:39thing. Right. No, I agree. I listen, Washington's going to start a rookie quarterback. Chicago's
02:44going to start a rookie quarterback. Denver's going to start a rookie quarterback. And honestly,
02:48if my opinion were asked, I would ask, I would ask in new England, what's the reason to not start
02:55Drake may other than protect him other than to say, Hey, we went out and got a veteran quarterback
02:59for this reason. You're going to start him at some point this year. Why not start right away?
03:04Get to it. No expectations played in the sec. Bo Nix played in Oregon. He was in college for like
03:11five or six years. Correct. Bo Nix is 24 years old. He's probably as experienced as you're going
03:18to get for any rookie quarterback ever. And like you said, has played in the two, you know, he
03:24played in the sec where he was good and he played for Oregon. That was really good. And so to me,
03:30you've got a, you've got a kid who's not 21 or, or 20 years old who played three years and he came
03:36out and this is a guy who's been around for a long time in an offense where they throw the ball.
03:40Go ahead. The reason why Bo Nix was taken where he was taken is because of his age,
03:45because people felt like he was already, he is what he is. And Sean Payton saw that and went,
03:51that's what I want. Yeah. Right. Yeah. And an offense, you know,
03:54Sean Payton's going to want to throw the ball. He threw the ball a lot last year. He threw three
03:57interceptions and get rid of it immediately. Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.
