00:13Compared to last Monday, the number of places in Batangas that are still affected by volcanic SMAG or VAG

00:20includes Laurel, San Nicolás, Agoncillo, Talisay, Balete, Lemery, Cuenca, Malvar, Lipa, Taal, Lian and Nasubu.

00:30The rain is a big factor here. It rained in Metro Manila and in Taal as well.

00:36There is still steaming that reached 1,200.

00:43But the wind was a bit faster earlier, around 2 meters per second.

00:49So this is relatively faster than the previous days that we observed.

00:58Steaming is the volcanic activity that is seen as white smoke,

01:03which is accompanied by sulfur dioxide.

01:05And when it is not dispersed immediately, there is a VAG here

01:10where it does not rise immediately and remains in a lower place.

01:14The presence of VAG depends on several factors, such as the amount of sulfur dioxide released,

01:23the humidity, wind direction, presence or absence of rain, among others.

01:28When you talk about VAG, whether it is thick or not, it is less now because the affected area is also less.

01:37According to PHEVOX, it is possible that this will happen again in the same situation.

01:41Based on their observation, there is no steaming every day.

01:45The agency explained that there was a lot of sulfur dioxide emission after the 2020 eruption,

01:52where before this, there was a little or almost nothing.

01:56Meanwhile, if it is clear on the part of PHEVOX,

01:58VAG was not experienced in Metro Manila.

02:20Here in Metro Manila, the pollutants do not rise, it becomes local haze.

02:26PHEVOX said that VAG is not affected by the increase in the alert level of Taal Volcano

02:31or if it is a sign that it will erupt again, especially since there is no known volcanic earthquake.
