00:07Goldenboy remembered and thanked those who helped him in his victory in the Paris Olympics.

00:23A grand welcome to Carlos Yulo in the GMA compound.

00:27Yulo is with the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines President Cynthia Carion.

00:31They were welcomed by GMA executives,

00:34led by President and Chief Executive Officer Gilberto R. Duavit Jr.,

00:38Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong,

00:42Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon Valdez,

00:45and Senior Vice President and Head of GMA Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy, Oliver Victor B. Amoroso.

00:52Outstanding, can I say.

00:54Very proud and very grateful for the opportunity to personally meet him and congratulate him and thank him.

01:02To thank him for the inspiration and the strength he brings us all.

01:07The hope he brings to everybody.

01:09The whole company is so proud of what Yulo has achieved.

01:16For GMA, one of our core values is excellence.

01:21And he excelled that.

01:23We're so proud.

01:24For Carlos, everything that happens to him is like a dream

01:29after the historic victory in the Paris Olympics.

01:33In the Olympics, I just want to win a medal.

01:37And the medal itself, I've been dreaming of it since I was 12 years old.

01:43I'm so grateful for my journey.

01:46Carlos told us how he felt about his floor exercise routine.

01:51Before I started on the floor, I saw that I was 14.9 plus the score of my competitor.

01:57I was like, no, I'll just focus on myself.

02:01And then I showed what I practiced.

02:04I did it.

02:05I'm so happy.

02:08But I didn't know that I would go gold.

02:12It was even harder for Carlos to get a gold medal in the vault.

02:17One of the people who helped him here was a Filipino-British gymnast,

02:21Jake Jarman of Team Great Britain.

02:24He considers him a close friend.

02:27In my second vault, I had a hard time.

02:30He wasn't consistent.

02:33So I asked Jake to teach me.

02:35When I was in training camp.

02:38And yeah, I learned his technique.

02:43I told him to teach me.

02:45Jake agreed.

02:47Yeah.

02:49Carlos has a lot of people in his career.

02:52He also gave a message to his Japanese coach,

02:55Munehiro Kugimiya,

02:57and to the people who helped him to get used to Japan.

03:17Carlos is very happy about his return.

03:20He bonded with other athletes from Team Philippines.

03:26I know he had a hard time on this journey.

03:30And I'm super proud of what he did.

03:32I really respect our athletes.

03:37And they inspire me.

03:41Carlos did not expect a grand homecoming parade.

03:44Just now, they are preparing for the 2028 Olympics.

03:49If we can, we can do it.

03:51I want him not to go alone,

03:53but to have a team of four other gymnasts.

03:56So I'm trying to look now for a foreign coach.

04:00On the return of the golden hero of gymnastics in the country,
