00:00Starters not playing on Sunday, or Saturday, excuse me.
00:04How prepared do you think you are with the reps you've got in the preseason and
00:08camp to hit the ground running for a week long regular season?
00:11Wait, say your question one more time.
00:13John said the starters aren't playing in the final preseason game.
00:15This week?
00:16Yeah.
00:17So how prepared do you feel you are for week one, taking into account preseason and
00:22your journey and path towards the game?
00:24I think I'm pretty prepared, ready to get out there, get the game plan and
00:28really get to play.
00:29Knowing what I have to do, when I have to do it, and where I need to be.
00:32How would you assess your first two preseason performances?
00:36Just as you reflect on it, what do you have to work on?
00:40What are you looking forward to as you progress in your NFL career?
00:43It was pretty, and so-so, always gonna be better.
00:46But just getting out there, feeling the speed of the game more, and
00:49just playing and doing what I know I can do.
00:51We asked Joe earlier about what he felt like was the biggest challenge for you.
00:55And he said adjusting to different ways that defenders are going to deal with you.
01:02How in your mind do you go about doing that, trying to make those adjustments?
01:06So for one, really you can understand the rhythm that they play at,
01:09the type of things they like to take away.
01:11And then from watching the film, taking account the guys they're probably going
01:14against are not the same size as you, speed, and
01:17could do the different things that you can do.
01:18So just imagining how I would stop myself, pretty much,
01:21is the same way as they're imagining how to stop me when I'm going out there.
01:25So just continue to being creative, asking for different coverages,
01:29leverages in one-on-ones, and in practice, and just perfecting it that way.
01:33Something that you can only do through reps on field?
01:37Yeah, so-so, pretty much just test the guy out when it's not a pass play,
01:43or it's a run play, try something here and there.
01:45And just see if what you've been studying is really what's going on out there.
01:48Yeah, the other thing, you're strong, you're ball is fast.
01:54Definitely, I feel like any ball come my way, I can catch it, honestly.
01:57What happened?
01:59What do you think happened?
02:01Just a drop, focus drop, got to look the ball in and make the play.
02:04When Deion talks, he talks about feeling responsibility to Josh,
02:09because that's his guy, his quarterback.
02:12You're just coming into this league, and do you feel that, I mean,
02:16you have to take care of what you have to do, but
02:18a responsibility to the quarterback to be everything he needs you to be?
02:22For sure, because I'm one of the guys he's throwing the ball to.
02:25So he got the trust he have in me, I got to relay it back, make those catches.
02:30Make both of us look good.
02:32I can't do that, how I'm supposed to get out there and make the plays.
02:35Football signs is you're a starter, do you feel like a starter?
02:41I just feel like I'm going out there playing at elite level, and
02:44got a lot of elite guys on side me that you got to hold your own.
02:48You've got it now, you're a new player, and
02:51you're the best man that you've ever had in the senior class.
02:54How do you feel that you've got a very good separation defense?
02:57You've got some people that you think are going to be good.
03:00Honestly, I don't think that's a struggle.
03:03We're going to find out sooner than later, but I don't think that's a concern.
03:08I think that's something I'll continue to work at, and
03:10show through our practice, through our week to week basis.
03:13With a play like that, you have to go up and talk about it in the field.
03:17It comes up in the field, though.
03:19Take me into that, is it frustrating when something like that happens?
03:22Trying to break it down, and talk about it in the team?
03:26I think it's more frustrating when it happens than after,
03:29because after you're already in process to fill in.
03:31Right after, you're kind of mad, but you got to get to the next play.
03:34Man, when you watch the film, everybody in the room know you got to catch that, so
03:37nobody's going to continue to harp on you.
03:39People make harmless jokes throughout practice and stuff, but
03:42you got to make that catch, simple as that.
03:45Joe said that the wide receivers blocking Saturday was very good.
03:49How much more are you being asked at this level to block, and
03:51what's been that adjustment for
03:53you versus what you might have done in Florida State?
03:57Florida State a lot was RPOs, different things like that, but now it's going,
04:00just giving effort backside, going to get the safeties.
04:03And when the bubble spit out the other side,
04:05making sure the corner can't make that play.
04:06Where do you feel like you've shown the most growth,
04:09maybe from the start of training camp to now?
04:12Speed of the game, playing at the speed of everybody else playing, and
04:15just pretty much making the plays that they knew I could make.
04:17A lot of wide receivers will pick the first round or early second round.
04:23Do you pay any attention to what anybody else is going on?
04:26Do you have a sense of competition with those guys as you all come in?
04:30I wouldn't say so, I don't mean salute to them, getting drafted where they got
04:34drafted, but I'm a guy that comes in ready to work, and
04:37I'll work anybody that's in my field of play.
04:39So the cards are gonna lay where they're gonna lay,
04:42depending on production and all that, and that's for everybody else to do.
04:46I'm here to do my job.
04:47So much has been made of your great,
04:49outgoing personality when you first got here.
04:52Now that you've gotten through training camp and things like that,
04:55have you tried to shift things to more Keon Coleman than the football player?
05:00One of the best things has not been Keon Coleman, the football player.
05:02But you know so much attention was the jacket, the cookies, and all of that.
05:06And now that we've gotten it, we've been on the field.
05:08I mean, have you tried to maybe shift away from that and
05:11just be more of like, let's talk shop?
05:14I mean, I don't really like talking about a jacket neither.
05:17It's football season.
05:18My mindset has been football ever since my first press conference was football.
05:22Yeah, you got to see the personality.
05:23But was I the one focused on the jacket?
05:25Not at all.
05:26I was focused on learning the playbook and
05:28being able to play at the speed of the game.
05:29Yeah.
05:34Y'all have a good day.
