Police to record Muhyiddin's statement tomorrow - IGP

The police have postponed to tomorrow to record Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's statement regarding his speech which allegedly touched on 3R issues (race, religion and royalty).

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said it had to be postponed as Muhyiddin’s lawyer was still abroad.

00:19He added that Muhyiddin's statement will be recorded at his office at the Malaysian Investment
00:25Development Authority or MAIDA at 11am tomorrow.
00:31Earlier on Tuesday, members of the press had gathered at the MAIDA building at 10.30am
00:36before being informed of the postponement.
00:40Muhyiddin allegedly disputed the Pahang Sultan's role as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong while
00:45campaigning for Perikatan at the Nenggiri State by-election in Kelantan last week.
00:52Pahang Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said at least 28 police reports
00:57were lodged over the speech in the state, adding that the investigation would be carried
01:02out by Bukit Aman's Classified Crimes Investigation Unit.
01:07The speech also drew the wrath of the Tengku Makota Pahang who wanted the police to take
01:12decisive action without compromise against the Pago MP.
01:18Muhyiddin, meanwhile, defended his speech, saying it was a statement of fact and that
01:22he had no intention of insulting the Royal Institution of the Malay Rulers or incite
01:27division among the people.
