00:04after he won a medal in the World Championship of Performing Arts 2024.
00:10So, good morning and welcome to Rise and Shine in the Philippines, Benedick.
00:14Good morning, sir Audrey.
00:16Okay, first of all, Benedick,
00:18when it comes to your victory in the World Championship of Performing Arts 2024,
00:24can you tell us what was the process of it?
00:27Yes, I joined the World Championships of Performing Arts
00:33by auditioning in Vista Malls.
00:35I auditioned in Vista Mall, Malolos, Bulacan.
00:38Then, I went straight to Orientation,
00:42applying for a US visa,
00:44until we arrived in the United States, Long Beach, California.
00:48That's where the 7 days of competition took place.
00:52We had preliminary rounds, semifinals, and grand finals.
00:58I was one of the 4 Filipinos who made it to the grand finals.
01:02Okay, I can see 4 gold medals.
01:05What are those?
01:06So, these 4 gold medals are gold medals as a grand finalist.
01:11Then, I have 3 gold medals for different styles of opera,
01:17pop music, and country and western music.
01:20I also won 2 silvers, 5 bronze medals, and a semifinalist badge.
01:26Do you have a plan to compete again in the future?
01:30Yes, maybe we'll prepare for it first,
01:34but it won't be lost in what we see in the future.
01:38Well, you said preparation.
01:39How do you prepare for this type of competition?
01:42Yes, here at WKOPA, preparation is not a joke.
01:46We don't just prepare ourselves and our voices,
01:50we also prepare our own pockets.
01:53Financially, we looked for sponsors,
01:56and it's a big thing that I met people who are willing to help me
02:03so that I can use this fame for the country.
02:07Okay, other than international competitions,
02:10when you're here in the Philippines, where do you usually sing?
02:13Usually, I attend events, corporate events, and weddings.
02:18Most of the time, I sing at weddings.
