00:05blame. The legendary actor who earned critical acclaim for his role in HBO's succession
00:10spoke at an Edinburgh International Film Festival panel and cited the latest MCU installment Deadpool
00:16and Wolverine as a great example of cinematic quote party time. What's happened is that television is
00:22doing what cinema used to do. I think cinema is in a very bad way. I think it's lost its place.
00:27He cited Marvel and DC Studios as examples, adding, I think cinema is beginning to implode
00:32actually. You're kind of losing the plot. He discussed Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman of
00:37Deadpool and Wolverine while referencing how films are making a lot of money that'll make
00:41everybody happy, but in terms of the work, it becomes diluted afterwards. You're getting the
00:46same old, I mean, I've done those kind of projects. Coincidentally, Cox starred as William Stryker
00:51Jr. in X2 X-Men United, a military scientist who persuades Logan to become Wolverine,
00:57and admittedly said he forgets about the fact that he quote created Wolverine. He added,
01:02so it's just become a party time for certain actors to do this stuff. When you know that
01:06Hugh Jackman can do a bit more, Ryan Reynolds, but it's because they go down that road and
01:11it's box office. They make a lot of money. You can't knock it. For more on this story,
