00:00I didn't realize that that would also open the door to so much hate, which is frankly
00:07been pretty devastating.
00:09Reagan is speaking out against the breakdancing backlash.
00:13The Olympian, whose real name is Rachel Gunn, calls out critics in a new social media post
00:19after receiving online hate following her viral performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
00:27message to her Instagram, August 15th.
00:31Hi everyone, Reagan here.
00:34I just want to start by thanking all the people who have supported me.
00:39I really appreciate the positivity and I'm glad I was able to bring some joy into your
00:47lives.
00:48That's what I hoped.
00:50I didn't realize that that would also open the door to so much hate, which is frankly
00:58been pretty devastating.
01:00Reagan then claps back at people who have made fun of her unconventional dance moves.
01:05Well, I went out there and I had fun.
01:08I did take it very seriously.
01:10I worked my butt off preparing for the Olympics and I gave my all, truly.
01:17The 36-year-old, who lost all three of her round-robin battles by a combined score of
01:2354-0 during the breaking qualifying event August 9th, goes on to claim that there's
01:28actually no awarding of points in the sport.
01:31Bit of a fun fact for you.
01:33There are actually no points in breaking.
01:38If you want to see how the judges thought I compared to my opponents, you can actually
01:43see the comparison percentages across the five criteria on olympics.com.
01:49All the results are there.
01:51Reagan then takes a moment to address conspiracy theories that she and her husband Samuel Free
01:56scammed their way to the Paris Games.
02:00In regards to the allegations and misinformation floating around, I'd like to ask everyone
02:06to please refer to the recent statement made by the AOC, as well as the posts on the AusBreaking
02:15Instagram page, as well as the WDSF Breaking for Gold page.
02:21The breakdancing advocacy organization AusBreaking releases a statement the same day supporting
02:26Reagan, as well as clarifying her role in Australia's Olympic breaking team selection
02:32process.
02:33Explaining in an IG post, B-Girl Reagan has been accused of setting up her own governing
02:39body for breaking and then using her position to manipulate the selection process to her
02:44own advantage.
02:45While AusBreaking has had many interactions and points of contact with Reagan, at no point
02:51was she the founder, an executive, committee member, or in any position of leadership.
02:57She was not involved in any decision making over events, funding, strategy, judge selection,
03:03or athlete selection.
