Fresh from his fourth-place finish in the Paris Olympics, Filipino pole vault star EJ Obiena falls to No. 3 in the sport’s global ranking. In World Athletics’ latest rankings, Obiena lost his position to the USA’s Sam Kendricks.

00:00Fresh from his fourth-place finish in the Paris Olympics, Filipino pole vault star EJ Obiena falls to No. 3 in the Sports Global Ranking.
00:09In World Athletics' latest rankings released Tuesday, August 13, Obiena lost his No. 2 position to the USA's Sam Kendricks.
00:17Kendricks bagged silver in the Olympics.
00:19World record holder Armand Duplantis of Sweden keeps the top spot, while Olympic bronze medalist Emmanuel Karalis of Greece climbs from No. 8 to No. 4.
00:28Obiena held on to No. 2 for nearly a year.
00:31He later revealed he was bothered by back issues that affected not just his performance but also his Olympic preparations.
00:38But he already has plans to bounce back.
00:40Obiena is set to compete in the Lausanne leg of the Diamond League in Switzerland on August 21.
00:46He's also organizing a world-class pole vault meet in Makati on September 20.
