00:00Because it clears your mind, it makes you sort of, it takes you away from anything
00:05that's happening outside and it makes you sort of focus on just one big thing
00:09and focus on an issue and or subject that you're passionate about and I
00:13feel like that's just very important to sort of obviously understand what's
00:17going out, what's going on outside and taking that and applying that into a
00:20room and sort of creating something beautiful.
00:22So we are in Bedminster in Elephant House and we are rehearsing The Fall which is a
00:27production written by James Fritz and we are Pinpoint Theatre Company.
00:32This has been very very, well there's been a lot of hard work of course, we've been
00:37going at it every Monday and Thursday but it's mainly been, so the whole cast
00:42is here every single rehearsal and we're working on movements and transitions and
00:46I guess a lot of the process is just getting to the sort of the meat of a
00:51play and like what's the message we're trying to like send out here so yeah.
00:54So Pinpoint is a brand new theatre company for young adults in Bristol.
00:59Our cast for this production are all between 18 and 20 years old, all doing various
01:04different things so some have just left sixth form and just got their results and
01:09some have either taken a gap year or maybe are going off to pursue even
01:15drama schools actually next month so yeah a mixture.
01:18So it's a new group created by one of my old college teachers Ellie involving young people
01:24from across Bristol so for new opportunities for people to get involved
01:27in theatre and to yeah get new ideas out in the air.
01:32Yeah it is new and it's exciting because we're starting off as a big show and I
01:37don't know I just feel like it's a, I feel like it's an important theatre company
01:41helping young people sort of get out and break out of school and like sort of
01:45still be putting on shows, amateur shows.
01:47I think that theatre is incredibly important for young people, I feel like it gives them something to
01:52think about, it gives them something to work towards and I feel like if you're
01:57interested in that kind of thing then it's such a great like exploration of a
02:02whole like industry as a whole.
02:04I feel like theatre brings people together that wouldn't normally be together, that's sort of my story about it.
02:10I would have never thought I would you know have the friends I have or you know
02:14have the conversations I had like today we were talking about obviously the
02:17relationships with old people, it sort of it broadens your perspective a little
02:21bit when you're sort of, you're going down on a piece and you're talking about
02:26it and you're thinking more about it and sort of the people that it brings
02:29together is always really good so yeah.
02:31I hope with Pinpoint is that over the coming months and years that we can build and grow.
02:36Obviously we're a very small company at the moment, there's a cast of eight in this production
02:41but we would love to reach as many young people as possible and be able to build
02:47on the scale of shows that we do and maybe start introducing things like
02:52workshops and opportunities for young people to direct and kind of choreograph
02:57as well as be on the stage.
