00:03The Stubborn Baby Elephant
00:06In a land, far away, there lived a family of elephants in a forest.
00:12The youngest member of this family was a very stubborn and naughty baby elephant.
00:21One day, when his parents were going for a walk, they yelled after him.
00:27Darling, where are you? Come on, we're going for a walk.
00:32Where are you, son? Come on!
00:35In a short while, the baby elephant came next to them.
00:39He felt no need to go for a walk with them.
00:43I don't want to come with you. It's boring.
00:47Your siblings are so excited to come. Why are you like this?
00:53Well, they can go. We always do the same things, and being an elephant is so boring.
01:00Mama and Papa Elephant were very surprised by the last words of their baby, but did not want to show it.
01:08Hmm, alrighty then. As you wish.
01:13Don't move from here. We'll be back before dark.
01:16Sure, as always.
01:19His family left the little stubborn elephant alone and went away.
01:24The baby elephant played on his own for a while.
01:29But soon after, he began to get bored.
01:33The more bored he was, the more mad he had become.
01:39I don't want to be an elephant anymore. It's bad to be an elephant.
01:44I wonder what I should be.
01:47Right that moment, he noticed a jumping and hopping gazelle.
01:52And so he made up his mind.
01:55Yeah, yeah, I should be a gazelle. Fast and agile.
01:59The baby elephant tried to copy the gazelle and jumped around.
02:04But his big and lumpy feet got tangled and he fell down, head first.
02:10And of course, it hurt a little.
02:13It's not fun being a gazelle.
02:16The baby elephant began to go further into the forest.
02:20He came amongst the tree where the monkeys were playing.
02:24They were jumping from one branch to another, having so much fun together.
02:30So he thought to himself,
02:33The monkeys have so much fun. I should be a monkey.
02:37So he yelled out to the monkeys.
02:41Hey monkeys, look at me. I'm also a monkey. Play with me too.
02:46The monkeys stopped for a little while and looked at the baby elephant.
02:51And then they all went down from the tree and surrounded him.
02:56One jumped on him.
02:58One pulled his ear.
03:00One hung on his trunk.
03:02And the last one threw a coconut on his head.
03:06Baby elephant was stunned.
03:08He couldn't run away jumping to a branch like the monkeys.
03:11They really hurt him.
03:13He could not play with the monkeys.
03:15Finally, he got rid of them with his trunk and ran away as fast as he could.
03:23The baby elephant began to move further into the forest.
03:28This time round, he saw a squirrel on a tree.
03:32The squirrel plucked a chestnut from the branch and went back into his burrow.
03:38What a cute animal.
03:40Because he is small, he can get in and out of everywhere.
03:43Yes, I should be a squirrel.
03:46The baby elephant tried to climb up the tree and of course failed.
03:51So he poked his trunk into the burrow.
03:54The poor little squirrel was so frightened that it jumped out as fast as it could.
04:01The baby elephant tried to put his head into the burrow this time.
04:06But his head got stuck.
04:08It was very hard for him to take it out.
04:14I'm just not fit to be a squirrel.
04:17The trees are too small.
04:22The baby elephant was now too far from home.
04:27A little further, he came across a beautiful parrot.
04:31The parrot was flying from one tree to another.
04:35The baby elephant enjoyed watching this.
04:38He came closer.
04:40I want to be a parrot too.
04:42Can you teach me to fly?
04:44Of course I can.
04:46Together, they went to a high cliff next to a lake.
04:51Now watch me and see how I fly.
04:55The parrot opened his wings and jumped.
04:58He was gliding in the sky.
05:01The baby elephant copied him and went down the cliff.
05:06As the parrot flew with his wings,
05:09the baby elephant fell down from thin air and landed in the lake.
05:16Thankfully, he managed to get out and make it to the shore.
05:20He was covered in mud and his whole body was in pain.
05:26The parrot flew next to him.
05:29You should stay being an elephant, my friend.
05:32Right at that moment, a baby bird sitting on the cliff
05:36fell out of its nest and disappeared in the lake.
05:43In a panic, Mother Bird flew next to her baby where it had disappeared.
05:48She was flying above the water and yelling,
05:51Help! Somebody help! Save my baby! Help!
05:57Baby elephant went in the water that instant,
06:00put his trunk in and began to search for the baby bird.
06:04After a few seconds went past,
06:07he took his trunk out and the baby bird was right there on the tip of his trunk.
06:12She's alive! She's alive!
06:16The baby elephant carefully put the baby bird down by the lake.
06:20Mother Bird flew and came next to them.
06:24Thank God you were here.
06:26If it weren't for you, she would have drowned.
06:30Hearing these words, the elephant was very happy.
06:34He felt worthy.
06:36If I weren't an elephant, I couldn't save this baby bird, he thought.
06:41I think I'm meant to stay as an elephant.
06:44It was almost night time.
06:47The elephant was very far from home now.
06:50He was super impatient about this.
06:55On his way back, he saw the parrot flying in the sky,
06:59the squirrel taking his head out of the burrow,
07:03the monkey swinging from one branch to another
07:07and the very fast gazelle that ran past him.
07:11But he thought of nothing other than how much he had missed his family
07:15and how much he made them upset with his silly stubbornness.
07:19All he wanted to do now was to apologize.
