An amateur football player, who brought a kerambit (small curved knife) to a football match, was sentenced to 14 days in jail by the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court after he pleaded guilty to brandishing the weapon.

00:13Judge Noreena Zainal Abidin passed the sentence on Muhammad Nur Iman Shafi Muhammad Suleen
00:19after he admitted to the offence on Friday.
00:22According to the charge sheet, the 22-year-old was accused of displaying the karambit in
00:27a manner that endangered the safety of others.
00:30The offence took place at the KLFA Football Centre in Wangsa Maju at 12.45am on August
00:374.
00:38The charge was framed under Section 336 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty
00:43of three months' imprisonment or a fine of up to 500 ringgit, or both, upon conviction.
00:51The court ordered for the jail time to run from the date of sentencing.
00:55Muhammad Nur Iman then claimed trial to a second charge of mischief in an incident outside
01:01an entertainment club near Jalan Yap Kwan Seng three months ago.
01:06He was accused of committing mischief by fire by throwing four fire-lit bottles at the club
01:11at 2.17am on May 9.
01:14He was charged under Section 435 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum 14 years' imprisonment
01:20and a fine if convicted.
01:22The court fixed bail at 12,000 ringgit in one surety and the case mentioned on September 25.
