00:00Hello, I'm Emily Blunt. This is my husband John Krasinski.
00:03And we want you to join us for a double date.
00:05Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:06And today we're counting down our picks for the famous power pairs
00:10that restore our faith in love.
00:12So I win because I can think exactly of what I love about you.
00:19I like it when she wins.
00:22Number 30.
00:24Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos.
00:26You know a bond is strong when a couple is happy to spend as much time together as these two do.
00:31Their love story began at Consuelos' audition to play Ripa's on-screen love interest,
00:37Mateo Santos, on All My Children.
00:39I fell in love with Mark the day I met him. The day I met him, I just knew.
00:45Ripa didn't just cast him as her fictional beau. He became her lifelong partner, too.
00:50In 1996, they slipped off to get married and now share three children.
00:55Today, you can catch them co-hosting Live with Kelly and Mark,
00:59where they occasionally share nuggets of wisdom on maintaining a happy marriage.
01:03But we keep on trying. We keep on trying to hold hands.
01:07That's the thing. We keep trying.
01:08Yeah, we keep trying.
01:09I think once we stop trying...
01:11Then we're done.
01:11Then divorce is over.
01:13With decades of love and companionship behind them,
01:16their relationship is a testament to true partnership.
01:19We'll definitely be taking notes.
01:21I'll do that.
01:23All right, that's it.
01:25How'd we do?
01:26That was awesome.
01:28Number 29.
01:29Jensen and Danielle Ackles.
01:32What do I really want?
01:33Love. To belong. To have a place. A home. A family.
01:40Most love stories don't start with someone trying to set up the guy
01:43who'd become her husband with a friend.
01:45But here we are.
01:46On the Drama Queen's podcast,
01:48Danielle revealed she had initially tried to pair off her future husband
01:52with her One Tree Hill co-star, Sophia Bush.
01:55I was like, you should go on a date with him. He's really nice.
01:59Yeah, and then I was, I remember being staunchly in a like,
02:04I'm never gonna date an actor again.
02:05LOL, I learn lessons the hard way.
02:08Luckily, Bush wasn't interested,
02:10which allowed Danielle to find, quote,
02:12the greatest love of her life.
02:14Her former co-stars even reminisced about how,
02:17so, word we can't say, cute they were in the relationship's early days.
02:22When you guys, like, clicked in, like, you clicked.
02:26Like, things went into place and everyone went, oh.
02:30Oh! Like, you knew, he knew, everybody around you could tell.
02:36That was cool to see.
02:37Their cuteness continued as they got married and became parents of three.
02:41While they usually keep their professional and personal lives separate,
02:45they do give fans a peek into their love through social media.
02:48Where the magic happens.
02:49Oh, man.
02:51Well, everybody, you have to say that.
02:52No, you don't.
02:53Okay.
02:54We'll cut that out.
02:55No, leave it in.
02:56Number 28, Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves.
03:00Like a scene straight out of a 2000s rom-com,
03:03McConaughey first saw his future wife in a club in 2006 and was instantly smitten.
03:09Alves, however, didn't recognize him at first due to his low-key attire.
03:14And, uh, she spoke Portuguese over the loud music and I spoke and understood,
03:18I understood Portuguese better than I've ever,
03:20than I've ever understood her in our nine years of dating.
03:24I also spoke the best Spanish I've ever spoken,
03:26which was close enough to Portuguese that night to be the international language of love.
03:31After that, they were pretty much inseparable.
03:33They got married in 2012 and now have three kids.
03:37On the podcast, Your Mama's Kitchen,
03:39they said the key to their happy relationship is putting family first
03:43and always making time for each other.
03:45Did you know what I found out the other night?
03:47What'd you find out?
03:47Three generation homes. In three generation homes, the kids live longer,
03:52parents live longer, and their grandparent lives longer.
03:55I knew that.
03:56I did not know that.
03:57As for those difficult relationship hurdles,
03:59McConaughey joked that having a sweet treat on hand helps,
04:02while Alves suggested something a little stronger.
04:05So next time you reach for the chocolate,
04:07just remember you're doing it for the relationship.
04:10But because I like my tequila, I like to drink a little more of it.
04:14I like to drink it on the rock straight so I don't get all that sugar content.
04:17Number 27.
04:18Jennifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas.
04:21Aren't you a real Prince Charming?
04:24I have a name you know.
04:25Don't care.
04:26Charming suits you.
04:27Move over Snow White and Prince Charming,
04:29there's a new fairy tale romance in town.
04:31This couple met and fell in love while playing those very characters
04:35on the fantasy series Once Upon a Time.
04:38You found me.
04:40Did you ever doubt I would?
04:43Truthfully, the glass coffin gave me pause.
04:48But you never have to worry, I will always find you.
04:50They got married and had their first child in 2014,
04:54and today they're proud parents of two.
04:56Though they mostly keep their love life out of the spotlight,
04:59they do treat us to occasional glimpses through red carpet appearances
05:03and adorable social media posts.
05:05Dallas even said the greatest gift from his Once Upon a Time days
05:08was the love he found.
05:10Were you fighting falling in love?
05:11Because you figured like-
05:12No we didn't fight.
05:13You didn't fight?
05:14We went straight for it.
05:15Hollywood.
05:15Seems like true love's kiss really does have some powerful magic.
05:19Number 26.
05:21Ryan Gosling and Ava Mendez.
05:23This is another couple that prefers to keep their personal lives away from prying eyes.
05:28But when they do talk about each other, it's absolutely adorable.
05:32Describe the rest of your life in five words.
05:37Run it by Ava first.
05:39Their love story began in 2012 while filming The Place Beyond the Pines,
05:44which led to two kids and wedding vows.
05:46Mendez said Gosling always supported her since her decision to take an
05:50indefinite acting hiatus to care for their young family.
05:53She works, I stay home with the girls too.
05:55And yeah, I couldn't, I mean, be here without her.
06:01She's also like my acting coach, you know?
06:04She's really become like the best acting coach I've ever had.
06:08Meanwhile, Gosling praises her for being his rock,
06:11and often lovingly boasts about her endeavors.
06:14When Mendez appeared in People's Beautiful Issue,
06:17Gosling's comments got us all melting.
06:19She's obviously the most beautiful woman in the world to you.
06:22But how proud of you are?
06:24Just be her in the issue, basically.
06:25But all right, I understand they need to have other people in there.
06:30So when's the Gosling cloning starting?
06:32Their love is definitely one for the books.
06:35Number 25.
06:36Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany.
06:38This couple met on the set of A Beautiful Mind in 2001,
06:42but didn't start dating right away.
06:43I was with someone else and he was with someone else,
06:46and so nothing happened.
06:48But we both kind of went, oh, okay.
06:50Too bad.
06:51Too bad we're saying goodbye.
06:52He thought she was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen,
06:55and she fell for his musical talents.
06:57After the tragic events of 9-11,
07:00Bettany realized his feelings for her and popped the question
07:03before they'd even officially dated.
07:05I remember very clearly thinking to myself,
07:08what are you doing?
07:11I realized I was in love.
07:13So I finally, I got her on the phone and said,
07:17I'm coming over and let's get married.
07:20And that's really what happened.
07:21Married since 2003,
07:23they tend to keep their personal life private,
07:25but often gush about each other in interviews
07:28and occasionally share sweet glimpses into their world.
07:31Together, they've weathered Hollywood's highs and lows,
07:34raising a family and maintaining a rock solid relationship.
07:37Their love story is proof that sometimes,
07:40life's best scripts are the ones we live.
07:43I suddenly realized that's who I'm writing it for.
07:45Really? Because you told me you were writing it for Jessica Chastain.
07:48Yeah, well, she said no.
07:50Number 24, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban.
07:54I did manage to get her phone number on a tiny piece of paper,
07:57and I carried that number in my pocket for well over a week.
08:02I'd pull it out and look at it, put it back in my pocket.
08:05These Aussie stars first connected over 7,000 miles away from their home country
08:10at the G'day USA Gala in LA in 2005.
08:14After swapping digits, Kidman apparently waited four months for Urban to make a move.
08:19Luckily, it was worth the wait,
08:21because he seemed to know exactly how to sweep her off her feet.
08:24We just talked and talked like we'd known each other our whole lives.
08:27It turned out that this mystic creature was really just a wide-eyed,
08:32vivacious giddy girl from the Sydney suburbs.
08:35They married in Sydney in 2006 and now share two children.
08:39Kidman supported Urban through his substance use disorder,
08:42and Urban often recognizes her efforts in helping him get through it.
08:46He describes their love as, quote,
08:48"...nothing to hide and everything to protect."
08:51They nurture their bond by regularly checking in with the life they want to create together.
08:55I'm so lucky that I have Keith, who's just my love.
09:00My deep, deep love.
09:02That gives me the ability to go and do whatever I have to do,
09:06because I know where I can come back.
09:08Number 23.
09:09Steve and Nancy Carell.
09:11Carol, I just, I feel like, I just like you so much.
09:16I better go.
09:18Okay, you can find a way home, all right?
09:20Yes.
09:21Okay.
09:21Okay.
09:22Steve Carell met Nancy while he was teaching improv
09:24at the Second City Training Center, where she was a student.
09:28He was instantly drawn to her,
09:30but thought she wasn't interested because she didn't talk to him much.
09:33Turns out she was just playing coy.
09:35Who blinked first? Who asked?
09:38She blinked first.
09:39She was like, okay, let's go.
09:40And I don't think I said, let's go out, but I said, okay.
09:46It was like nerd patrol.
09:48He shared with The Guardian that he knew pretty quickly she was his perfect match,
09:52and on their wedding day, he felt, quote,
09:54an ethereal sense of how right it all was.
09:57While he doesn't claim there's a magic formula for a happy relationship,
10:01he believes being able to laugh together helps.
10:03We've seen the couple share the screen a few times,
10:06and, well, you can't fake that kind of chemistry.
10:09Now get back up on that stage, okay?
10:12Okay.
10:12I love you.
10:13I love you too.
10:14Okay.
10:18Okay, Nancy, does that happen often?
10:23Every morning.
10:24Number 22.
10:26Samuel L. Jackson and LaTanya Richardson-Jackson.
10:30I saw her backstage, and she was going somewhere,
10:33and we decided, okay, when you come back, we'll connect.
10:36And from that point, we've been kind of connected.
10:39Together ever since.
10:4052 going on 53 years.
10:45When Samuel L. Jackson and LaTanya Richardson-Jackson
10:48decided to commit to their relationship,
10:50they vowed that they could conquer anything as long as they faced it together.
10:54Well, August 2024 marks their 44th anniversary,
10:58so we'd say they're probably onto something.
11:01It was all romantic.
11:02I got down on one knee and did the whole thing.
11:04No, it was semantical, but, you know, we did do it.
11:07I didn't say semantical.
11:08I said romantic.
11:10Their engagement wasn't exactly traditional,
11:12and they each remember it differently,
11:14but at least they made it down the aisle.
11:16LaTanya stood by Samuel through his substance use disorder,
11:20and he credits her for giving him, quote,
11:22the chance to be the man he was supposed to be.
11:25He's also not shy about showing his love for her to the world.
11:28Their partnership and dedication have truly created a love story
11:32that's worth celebrating.
11:33That is success in life, and it doesn't take a lot.
11:37Only takes a little.
11:38Number 21.
11:39Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance.
11:42Although Bassett and Vance first crossed paths
11:45as Yale Drama School grad students,
11:47their love story began years later,
11:49when fate brought them together again.
11:51Ran into each other in L.A., you know.
11:54It's like, oh, familiar face.
11:55Girlfriend's gone.
11:56Yeah, gone.
11:58I had a party.
11:59I was like, invite the girlfriend.
12:00She's gone.
12:01She's gone.
12:01She's gone.
12:02Bassett recalls their first kiss sending fireworks through her body,
12:06signaling he was the one.
12:08They married in 1997 and welcomed twins via surrogacy in 2006.
12:13In interviews, they openly admire, support, and cheer each other on.
12:17He's a sweetheart, and he believed in this moment.
12:22He just, I think maybe he manifested it.
12:25Bassett talks about how important it is in marriage to share life goals,
12:29while also respecting each other's personal needs and aspirations.
12:33Meanwhile, Vance emphasized the need for, quote,
12:36humility and forgiveness.
12:37Plus, find yourself someone willing to throw a bash
12:40like the one he threw for his wife.
12:42You only have a 25th anniversary, you know, one time,
12:47and you're only 60 one time.
12:48Yes.
12:49So we go for it.
12:50Number 20, Melanie Linsky and Jason Ritter.
12:54And then I said, that's not usually what a proposal's like.
12:56People usually understand that it's happening.
13:01At least one person understands that.
13:02Yeah, so since then, he's been very cute,
13:04and he's been proposing to me over and over.
13:07As the couple told Drew Barrymore, it wasn't exactly love at first sight.
13:12Linsky had to reintroduce herself to Ritter multiple times.
13:15However, both remember the moment they knew the other was the one.
13:19And trust us, you'll want the tissues close by.
13:22It's been like a slow burn, so I knew that she was incredible.
13:26It was working on myself enough to feel like maybe I could be the one for her too.
13:33Um, sorry.
13:36They got engaged in 2016, though Linsky hilariously admitted
13:40she didn't realize she was engaged for a few days.
13:43They became parents in 2018 and have been a strong team ever since.
13:47They're incredibly supportive of each other, both personally and professionally,
13:52making sure they both get the space to thrive while prioritizing their family.
13:56Despite facing some tough times, they've shown that with love and support,
14:00they can overcome anything together.
14:03Well, this is first of all the best person in the world, and I just knew it.
14:08Like, even though mistakes were made along the way, you had such a good heart.
14:14Number 19. Tom Holland and Zendaya.
14:18Despite trying to keep things on the down low, there have been speculations about these two
14:23coupling up ever since they met in 2016 on the set of Spider-Man Homecoming.
14:28I'm not obsessed with him, just very observant.
14:30At the time, and for years, they rarely addressed the nature of
14:34their private relationship off-screen and, despite many rumors,
14:38certainly never admitted to anything beyond platonic love.
14:41However, they could no longer deny it when, in 2021, paparazzi spotted them kissing.
14:47See, you just realized that you didn't think about that. Yeah, caught.
14:52It's probably not the way they would have liked to go public, but we were beyond
14:56excited to learn that the two were more than just good friends.
14:59They've since continued to keep their relationship private,
15:02and only share small glimpses of their love life on social media.
15:10I can't tell you that because then people will go there and try and find us.
15:13Number 18. Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone.
15:17Turns out, McCarthy and Falcone were near each other before they became famous.
15:22Falcone recalls spotting McCarthy from afar while she was a freshman in college,
15:27and he was still in high school.
15:28Once I mentioned that she struck terror in certain people, she was like,
15:32yep, that was me, because she was very, very goth, very, and all my,
15:36you know, friends who were of that age were like,
15:37oh my god, I wish my mom would let me dress like her.
15:40They wouldn't meet officially until 1998 when they joined the same comedy class.
15:45The two were friends first before eventually progressing to the next step.
15:49We realized that we were staying far later than everyone else because we
15:53wanted an excuse to hang out together.
15:55And the rest is history.
15:57They've been together for decades and still have nothing but love for each other.
16:01McCarthy continues to gush about Falcone to this day, saying, quote,
16:05he makes me gut laugh like crazy gut laugh four or five times a day.
16:10I hit the jackpot. Cue the swooning.
16:13I think it's the only person that was like, I like you.
16:15That's it. I'm done. I'm done shopping.
16:19It took me a long time.
16:20Number 17. Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor.
16:24Imagine finding the love of your life on Twitter.
16:27That's what happened to Holland Taylor and Sarah Paulson, sort of.
16:31She did see me in a tweet and she thought I was blue about something and she said,
16:35how are you? What's happening?
16:37While the two had seen each other in the Hollywood scene before,
16:40it wasn't until they worked together on a charity initiative that things started to progress.
16:44They began following each other on Twitter and soon likes turned to messages.
16:49Holland Taylor slid into your DMs.
16:51She actually did.
16:52Wow.
16:54Their 32 year age difference is sometimes subjected to raised eyebrows,
16:59but they pay no mind to it.
17:01Paulson has been outspoken against ageist remarks and added that people should look
17:06past the thinking that being old means you have no romantic or intimate desires.
17:11As far as classy couples go, these two are hard to beat.
17:15If I can shout from the rooftop, I want to shout from the rooftops all the time.
17:18But how much I love that person. So if I can do it in front of millions of people, why not?
17:2216. Victoria and David Beckham
17:25These two had their love at first sight moment in the Manchester United
17:29Players Lounge back in 1997.
17:31Definitely as soon as I see her, you know, I didn't even have to meet her.
17:34I see her on the telly and I just wanted to meet her.
17:36You know, I just fancied her. So it was just a case of getting together then.
17:41By their own accounts, they became instantly smitten for each other and
17:44got engaged just a year after they met.
17:47Since then, more than two decades have passed and they're still going strong.
17:51He's a really, really, really great dad. He's a fantastic husband. He works so,
17:57so hard. And I feel very lucky that we have each other.
18:00Sometimes it's not about how long you've known someone,
18:03but about how they make you feel when you're with them.
18:06The couple's children have become icons of their own too,
18:09and no doubt will continue to leave their mark on the world.
18:12That Beckham legacy is solid as a rock.
18:15She wrote her number down on her train ticket, which I still have.
18:18No, you kept the ticket? That's so cool that you kept that. That's amazing.
18:22And here you are 20 years later.
18:2420 years later and four kids later.
18:26Number 15. Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen
18:30This couple sparked their romance in 1993 while filming Pontiac Moon
18:34and tied the knot in 1995. Whenever they talk about their relationship,
18:38you just know they're in the good place.
18:40I love every fiber of her body. So when I start naming things,
18:45it won't be in an order of importance.
18:48Cupid's arrow hit bullseye with these two. They can't stop gushing about each other,
18:53with Steenburgen once saying,
18:55quote,
18:56I would literally sign up for 100 more lifetimes with him.
19:00He knows exactly who I am.
19:02Being witnessed, being truly witnessed and loved.
19:07To be truly known by another person is an amazing thing.
19:12They show their love through sweet words and acts of service,
19:15making it clear they want each other to feel the most loved every single day.
19:20Indeed, now in their third decade of marriage, the spark still burns very bright.
19:25If that's not relationship goals, then we don't know what is.
19:29We purposefully kind of went that way. We said, you know what?
19:33You know, we like things like being adored. So we adore each other and we like being happy.
19:40And we kind of went, you know, let's do this like 90% of the time.
19:43Number 14, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
19:52Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's love story begins in 1994 when they first met in Nashville.
19:58However, back then, McGraw was in a relationship with Christine Donahue
20:01while Hill was about to be wed to Scott Hendricks.
20:04When McGraw and Hill reconnected two years later,
20:06they left their previous relationships to pursue this new love.
20:21Life is rarely as prim and neat as we would like it to be, but sometimes the mess is worth it.
20:27McGraw proposed to Hill while they were touring together in 1996,
20:31and they got married a few months after.
20:33Their support for each other is clearly unwavering,
20:36as the couple celebrated nearly 30 years of marriage.
20:40When you commit to someone, when you love someone, I mean, you're...
20:45you commit to be there for them for the highs, the lows, anytime.
20:50Number 13, Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman.
20:54Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally met in 2000 while starring in the play The Berlin Circle,
20:59but their romance didn't start until after previews.
21:02It wasn't love at first sight for either one of you, let's just be honest.
21:05It was for him.
21:11Deny it, deny it.
21:13They got engaged in London in 2002 and surprised their guests with an
21:18unannounced wedding at their Los Angeles home in September of 2003,
21:22the night before the Emmys no less.
21:24The two value communication and spending time together.
21:27They have a rule in their relationship when it comes to taking jobs.
21:30We say, okay, I will come to Cincinnati to shoot your show,
21:34but I have to go home and see my wife at least every two weeks in the hopes.
21:40In the hopes?
21:41Well, one day Megan promises me that we'll go all the way.
21:46If an offer will require them to be apart for over two weeks,
21:49it's something the couple will discuss together.
21:51Healthy communication for the win.
21:53They've also said that being able to make your partner laugh is key,
21:56which is a pretty fitting statement for the two comedians.
21:59We try to crack each other up a lot too, which helps.
22:03And there's a lot of baby talk.
22:05I'm just going to come right out and say it.
22:08Number 12.
22:09Elton John and David Furnish.
22:11Elton John and David Furnish have been together for almost 30 years,
22:15ever since meeting at a dinner party back in 1993.
22:18When David walked through the door that night,
22:21there was something that immediately clicked with him.
22:24And then we talked and we had fun.
22:26They went on their first date just a day after and quickly fell in love.
22:30In 2005, they entered a civil partnership.
22:33And in 2014, after same-sex marriage was legalized in the UK,
22:38they officially tied the knot.
22:40Staff studied affair today, which comes as no surprise,
22:42although I am reliably told that today's celebrations are considerably smaller
22:47than the 650 guest bash that they threw back in 2005 for their civil partnership.
22:54Both John and Furnish state that the key to a happy marriage is constant communication.
22:59They also revealed that they write out a message of love to each other every week
23:02and have done so since the very beginning.
23:05Now, that's cute.
23:06The cards we've kept, they're all home in a storage box, in a safe kind of thing.
23:14We treasure them.
23:14Like, it's a whole kind of catalog of our relationship.
23:18Number 11.
23:19Michelle and Barack Obama.
23:20Michelle and Barack Obama first crossed paths at a law firm in Chicago back in 1989.
23:26Michelle was actually Barack's mentor at the time
23:29and was not entirely keen to take him up on his date offer.
23:32He showed up late and he had that walk like,
23:34oh, I'm so sorry I was late, you know?
23:39And I was like, all right, dude,
23:40you late on your first date and you're not even Russian.
23:43He had that Hawaii slow walk, so he walked off.
23:46But she gave him a chance in the end and it worked out for the best.
23:49Fast forward to 1992, the Obamas were hitched.
23:52Like any couple, they've had their fair share of highs and lows,
23:56and presidency was sure to bring a whole other kind of whirlwind.
23:59She had mentioned that for about 10 years of the marriage, she really didn't like you.
24:03Oh, man.
24:04So, asking for a friend.
24:06How do you get back in good graces?
24:08Again, for a friend.
24:09You got a pen so I can take notes?
24:11Let me just say this.
24:13It sure helps to be out of the White House.
24:15The couple worked diligently to navigate challenging times.
24:19And they came out of it for the better.
24:21Michelle Obama has also offered marriage advice for precisely those challenging times.
24:26Saying, quote,
24:27You've got to know the feelings will be intense, but that doesn't mean you quit.
24:31So I think it's important for us to be honest in those conversations,
24:34not to glamorize what a partnership feels like.
24:38Because then young people quit too soon.
24:41They quit before they've really, you know, played out the full scenario.
24:45Number 10.
24:46Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard.
24:48Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard first met at a party hosted by a mutual friend in 2007.
24:54And Bell has been quoted saying there were no sparks whatsoever when they first met.
24:58Though that clearly changed quickly,
25:00surprisingly there was lots to navigate through before the couple really settled into a relationship.
25:05I maybe scared him a little bit because I wanted to spend all of our time together.
25:10I was very excited.
25:11And he had just gotten out of a relationship and wanted a little bit more freedom.
25:16And I don't think wanted everything I was presenting to him.
25:20Eventually, the two committed to one another.
25:22And by 2009, they were engaged, though they wouldn't get married until 2013.
25:28Along with sharing hilarious videos of each other,
25:30Bell and Shepard are very candid about their relationship lows.
25:34They revealed they were both attending therapy in order to better communicate
25:37with each other when times get hard.
25:39Every two weeks or so, I'll see Harry via Zoom and complain about Dax.
25:43And then he'll give me all the reasons why I'm wrong.
25:46And then Dax will do the same.
25:47And then by the time we meet up in the evening,
25:49we love each other again because our toolboxes are bigger.
25:51Despite all the obstacles they've faced,
25:54they remain there for each other even in the hardest times.
25:57Relationship goals.
25:58You do so much.
25:59Yeah.
26:00For the world, for us.
26:02And you can mimic everyone and everything.
26:04I know, it's so cute.
26:06Number 9.
26:06Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka.
26:09These two went on their first date in 2004,
26:12and ended up revealing their relationship to the public three years later.
26:16I fell head over heels for this dude, and he was into me,
26:21and we started living together relatively quickly.
26:24Unfortunately, gay marriage wasn't legal yet,
26:27and they had to wait all the way until 2014 to tie the knot.
26:31They now have an adorable family and have shown they are in it for the long run.
26:35Still, no marriage is complete without its downs.
26:38I'm gonna say some stuff, and this is kind of how I want it to be.
26:40Believe me, he does.
26:43Burtka and Harris were open and honest about the fact that marriage is work,
26:47and said open communication is imperative.
26:50They also acknowledged the importance of attending therapy as a couple
26:53to work through their issues.
26:55But you need that, right?
26:56You need a roadmap sometimes of how to couch your sentences, right?
27:00So that you're not coming at someone, but you're wanting,
27:03but you're using the right vocabulary to want to have a conversation about stuff.
27:08Yeah.
27:08So that's been helpful.
27:09Number 8.
27:10Denzel and Pauletta Washington
27:12Denzel and Pauletta Washington are among some of the longest-lasting Hollywood couples.
27:18Tended to play, and I got there late, so I snuck in and just sat down.
27:23I didn't look at who was around me.
27:25And at intermission, the lights came up and we were sitting next to each other.
27:30Meant to be!
27:32They've been together for over 40 years.
27:34But make no mistake, those 40 years have not all been smooth sailing.
27:38Pauletta actually turned down Denzel's proposal twice
27:42before finally accepting it the third time.
27:44Do you remember how you proposed?
27:50No.
27:51It's not a trick question, I'm just asking.
27:53I don't remember, because she kept telling me no.
27:56Oh, no.
27:57So I don't remember where I was and when she finally...
27:58Which time?
27:59Yeah, exactly.
28:00The Washingtons often share insight into what makes their marriage work,
28:04with Denzel crediting Pauletta for being the number one reason for it.
28:08They also cite the importance of perseverance and commitment.
28:12Lesson learned.
28:13Although it may not be the right time to get married,
28:15it doesn't mean it's not a right time to be together.
28:18I got a good woman, that's the first thing.
28:20And, uh, you know, just keep working at it.
28:23Number 7.
28:24Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr.
28:28Now, here's a Hollywood it couple if we've ever seen one.
28:31These two have been going strong since they started dating in 2000,
28:35and that might be because they were friends for three years before anything romantic happened.
28:39We were just two people at dinner catching up.
28:42We had a long car ride and a long dinner and things just happened.
28:46They tied the knot in 2002, despite both of them admitting they didn't believe in marriage.
28:51Prinze ended up taking a chance, and Gellar said yes.
28:54Fortunately, she was on the same page.
28:56My instincts were correct.
28:58Two children and a lot of happy moments later, their relationship is on solid ground.
29:02Gellar stated that mindfulness and staying present in the moment you share with your
29:06loved ones is important when it comes to both marriage and family life.
29:10Time moves so quickly and I just feel like it flies and
29:13I just want to make sure that I'm participating in every moment and present and,
29:18you know, being able to block out some of the distractions and really spend time with
29:21the people that I love.
29:22Number 6.
29:23Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan.
29:26Back to the Future had just come out and I thought, well, I better go
29:29watch it because I have no idea, like, who he is and what if, you know.
29:32Really?
29:33So I went by myself.
29:34I sat down at the theater on 86th Street and I saw it and I thought, oh, this guy actually,
29:39like, maybe has a future.
29:41These two lovebirds met on the set of Family Ties in 1985,
29:46where they actually played each other's love interests.
29:49However, they were both in relationships at the time and didn't really form any romantic feelings
29:54until Bright Lights Big City, the second project on which they had the opportunity to work together.
30:00Well, it's a little early for dinner.
30:01You want to do something?
30:02You want to get a drink?
30:05All right.
30:06Or we could just go for a walk.
30:08Just over half a year later in 1988, they were married and have had four kids since.
30:14Celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary, it's probably safe to say the two have a strong bond
30:19with love that could conquer just about anything.
30:22When it comes to advice for romantic relationships,
30:25Pollan said, quote,
30:27"...just give each other the benefit of the doubt.
30:29He assumes I'm doing the best I can."
30:32Do you still have that crush on her?
30:34More.
30:34More than ever.
30:35Every, every time.
30:36There's nothing else you could say right now.
30:40But it's true.
30:41Absolutely.
30:41I totally have a crush on her.
30:42Number five.
30:43Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.
30:45Now, these two have never married, but they've been together for about four decades.
30:50Today's today.
30:50Tomorrow's tomorrow.
30:51Goldie's Goldie.
30:52I feel like I'm just meeting you for the first time.
30:55Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell met on the set of the 1968 movie,
30:59The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band.
31:02But it wasn't love at first sight, as Hawn was five years older than Russell.
31:06I was like dating older guys, right?
31:10And my, I was what, 20?
31:11I was only 15 years old, so I didn't even have a car.
31:14I didn't have a license.
31:15In fact, it took them a decade and a half before they went on their first date.
31:19And we have to say, we're glad they waited.
31:21The Hawn-Russell legacy remains one of the strongest in Hollywood.
31:25They addressed their decision to not marry as simply
31:28stating that they don't see the need when their relationship is so strong.
31:31Yeah, for people like us, a marriage certificate isn't going to
31:35create anything that otherwise we wouldn't have.
31:37Number four.
31:38Kevin Bacon and Keira Sedgwick.
31:41Keira Sedgwick was 12 years old when she saw Kevin Bacon at a play
31:45and told him that she liked his acting.
31:47And then I watched his career, obviously, as years went on.
31:50And I actually screen tested for a bunch of movies that obviously I never got.
31:54And then when we went to go work together, I was like, oh, we were meant to work together.
31:57A decade later, the two worked together on 1988's Lemon Sky.
32:02They quickly began dating and got married that year,
32:04which means they've been together for over three whole decades.
32:08I think that, um, I think we've always been each other's biggest support and fans.
32:13As of 2023, the pair has two children together and continue to maintain a loving marriage.
32:19When asked about partnership advice,
32:21Sedgwick joked that successful marriages don't take marriage advice from celebrities,
32:26and admitted that she thinks she and Bacon had luck on their side.
32:30Life isn't easy. You know, building a family is not easy.
32:33Living in the world is not easy. And like, I feel proud of us that we're sustaining and
32:39that we're trying to put good things out into the world.
32:42Number three.
32:43Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks.
32:45I was watching on a Friday night. This cheerleader was so cute, she knocked me out.
32:51And then I married her.
32:53Now, here's one of perhaps the longest married couples in Hollywood.
32:57They officially met in 1981 when they were co-stars in Bosom Buddies.
33:01However, Hanks was already married at the time. Still, it was clear there was something brewing
33:05between them when they announced their relationship five years later,
33:08and the two eventually tied the knot in 1988.
33:11I thought I loved this woman six months ago, but I love her even more now,
33:14so it just keeps changing all the time.
33:16The pair has two children, while Hanks also has two kids from his previous marriage.
33:21These two lovebirds have supported each other through some of the hardest times,
33:25including Wilson's breast cancer.
33:27They truly continue to inspire everyone with their strength and love.
33:31I think humor is a big part of it. We laugh a lot.
33:33Okay, I think so too.
33:35What else do you think it is?
33:35I think that's hilarious that you should know.
33:38You're making me laugh! You just made me laugh!
33:40Number two.
33:41Emily Blunt and John Krasinski.
33:44We've seen your comments about these two being the epitome of love and commitment.
33:48Krasinski revealed that he knew Blunt was the one from the moment they met.
33:52I shook her hand, and to be honest, I knew right then and there that I felt
33:57everything I needed to feel for her.
33:58Things moved pretty fast. They were engaged just a year after their first date.
34:03They got married in 2010 and have pretty much successfully defeated all odds against them.
34:08And then he said, who are you visiting? I said, my wife. And he said, is she an actress? And I
34:11said, yeah. He said, would I know her? I said, I don't know. And he said, what's her name?
34:15And I said, Emily Blunt, as he was writing something. And he went, you?
34:22You!
34:23Not only do they have an adorable and loving family,
34:26their relationship is also full of silly and goofy moments. It's no wonder that
34:31even their first movie together was a total success. Let's be honest, we just can't get
34:35enough of these two.
34:37Double your pleasure!
34:38You are freaking them out!
34:39What?
34:40It's gonna be so much fun!

34:571. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds
35:00Speaking of silly and goofy relationships, it doesn't get any better than Blake Lively and
35:05Ryan Reynolds. We've all seen their back and forth comments on social media,
35:09and that alone is enough to make us believe love truly does exist.
35:13It's alarming to me how many of these photos he found, though, where I look like this.
35:17I'm like, I have a Barbie in my lap, and I'm like, what is happening here?
35:20But he looks handsome in all of them. I really need to work on my photo face.
35:24These two met in 2010 on the set of Green Lantern and became friends. A year later,
35:29while trying to wing men for each other, they realized they wanted to be more.
35:33We were both single. We went on a double date. She was on a date with another guy,
35:38and I was on a date with another girl, and that was the most awkward date for their
35:41respective part because we were just like fireworks coming across the...
35:44What can we say? You can't help who you fall for. They got married in 2012 and created an
35:50absolutely adorable family that keeps on growing, just like their love. When is it our turn?
35:56He's my friend, first and foremost. Still, you know, not just in our history, but in
36:00everyday life, he is my friend first. And that's, I think that's the secret to happiness.
36:07Which celeb pair is your couple goals? Let us know in the comments.
36:11I might finally gain my wife's love and approval.
36:16I'm waiting for him to win a Golden Globe.
36:18Well, you already won one, so that was good for 10 years.
