00:00I have awful news. The Olympics are over. I know already what you're thinking, we've
00:06just had weeks of being able to watch random sports on my TV all day, how am I meant to
00:10recover, what could be better than that? Well how about being able to watch them live in
00:14Manchester? With how much development the city's seen in recent years, it's actually
00:17less of a long shot than you might imagine. There's a real drive from the Olympic Committee
00:22at the minute to lower the cost of the games, to try and create more desire to host them,
00:25and key to that is making use of already existing infrastructure. The developments
00:30near the Etihad Stadium provide decent training facilities and we already have a velodrome,
00:33football obviously won't be an issue, and there are enough grounds in the surrounding
00:36area to host events like the Rugby Sevens. Now the big question would be the running
00:40track, but maybe that's where the Red Devils come in. You surely won't have been able
00:44to avoid the news that Manchester United are planning a big rebuild. Surely a bit of lean
00:48in from the taskforce, which includes Mayor Andy Burnham, could convince Jim Ratcliffe
00:52to make it a multi-functioning ground. So do you think that Manchester could host the
00:55Olympic Games? I'm Theo with Manchester World, follow us for more.
