How our Mancunian athletes are doing at the Paris 2024 Olympics

We take a look at which of our Greater Manchester-based athletes have managed so for at the 2024 edition of the Olympic Games, and what events they’ll be competing in over the next few days.

00:00There are a host of brilliant Greater Manchester-based athletes who have done some amazing things
00:03already in Paris 2024, so let's have a look at what our amazing mags have been up to so
00:08far and what you need to be keeping an eye out for this week.
00:10We'll start with James Guy, the swimmer from Bury, who will be heading back home laden
00:13with gold after the men's 4x200 relay. The gold medal was his third Olympic gold and
00:17his sixth medal overall, having picked up a few silvers in Rio and Tokyo. Guy will also
00:21be competing in the men's 100m butterfly. Judge Taylor Brown put in a great shift to
00:25finish sixth in the triathlon. Aside from that success, there has been some disappointment.
00:30Charlotte Worthington, who managed to make it to the Games despite mental health struggles,
00:34couldn't defend her gold from Tokyo. Boxer Patrick Brown also suffered a tough defeat,
00:38losing in the first round of the competition to Kino Machado.
00:41In terms of what you need to keep an eye on, Keeley Hodgkinson will be starting her tournament
00:45on Friday evening with the first round of the women's 800m race. Amy Pratt will be competing
00:49in the first round of the 3,000m steeplechase on Sunday, and Hannah Kelly will be competing
00:53in the 4x400 mixed relay on Friday.
