Five access points along Blackpool Promenade have been closed recently, which has caused inconvenience for guests at a number of nearby hotels who are having to walk long distances to access the beach.

The access points are closed between Cocker Street and Gynn Square.

A spokesperson for Blackpool Council said: "During routine visual inspections of the lower colonnades, some defects were noted that required further investigations and that the access points had been closed as a precautionary safety measure."
