00:00Gentlemen, we're going over the rules of the dressing room. You both know what I expect out of you.
00:04I'm going to let them work to the middle right here. Let them work to the top right here.
00:07Let's touch them up and we can go to work.
00:11Komen event ready to get underway. The WBC Continental Americas Welterweight title is on the line.
00:18As Gore Yuritsian at 18-0 defends his title against the 15-0 Russian Iram Amirkhanian.
00:26TJ DeSantis along with Pearl Gonzalez. We will check in with Doug Fisher as our championship fights continue.
00:34And we are underway.
00:38Yuritsian in the purple with black. In the all black is Amirkhanian.
00:46Amirkhanian does a fantastic job of being efficient in his fights.
00:51Very little movement from him. He's relaxed. He's calm.
00:54But as soon as he throws, he's ferocious. Packs a ton of power. Great speed.
01:00Very interested in this fight.
01:02It's a very tough fight for Yuritsian as well. Tom Loeffler said it at the top of the show.
01:06Not many athletes would come into their first title defense taking on a flawless undefeated fighter like Amirkhanian.
01:12But Gore Yuritsian was up for the task.
01:14Yes, he says this is his time. He is ready right now. Mentally, physically, spiritually, he's ready for this fight.
01:21He's ready for the opportunities that will present themselves when he wins tonight.
01:31Targeting the body with that left hand is Yuritsian.
01:35In championship bout, 10 rounds scheduled here. This is for the WBC Continental America's welterweight title.
01:40Beautiful combination landing from the champion there. Right hand followed by a left body shot.
01:51He's clean. Yuritsian is clean, sharp, precise with his strikes.
01:56Referee telling Yuritsian to bring that shot up. Thought it was a little bit low.
02:06You mentioned Amirkhanian very conservative with his approach. Not a lot of wasted movement.
02:10No, not a lot of movement. He doesn't really dance around the ring.
02:15He's a very aggressive fighter.
02:17He's a very aggressive fighter.
02:19You mentioned Amirkhanian very conservative with his approach. Not a lot of wasted movement.
02:22No, not a lot of movement. He doesn't really dance around the ring.
02:26He stands right in the middle of the ring and does his best work.
02:32Kind of countering and landing off of your shots.
02:37Two minutes down in our opening round.
02:42And he'll throw a combination and then he will take a breather and reset and recalculate himself.
02:49I do believe that is an opening though for Gore to kind of offset the rhythm, offset the breathing of Haram.
02:56If he can, and which he does really well in his fights, is kind of interrupt the rhythm.
03:03Both men exchanging there. Yuritsy made a right hand but now coming forward with some shots.
03:11Quick jab there by the former Armenian national champion.
03:18Gore started boxing when he was 7 years old. His father was a boxer.
03:23Took him to his trainer and he immediately found a home in boxing.
03:28He said just the second year he became the Armenian champion.
03:31His second tournament became the European champion.
03:34Trained in the amateurs for 14 years. Had a great run in his AMI career.
03:40Success found Yuritsy very early in his boxing career.
03:44Now he's one round in to his championship legacy as he's defending his WBC Continental America's welterweight title here tonight.
03:54Freddie Roach in his corner.
03:58Your thoughts Pearl on what we saw in our first round of this championship affair.
04:02That was a tough close round for both men but you got to see the elusivity of Gore in there.
04:08You got to see him in and out and land a shot and get right out of the way.
04:11You also got to see Amir Kani.
04:15Thank you. Amir Kani's power, his speed. He's got great speed on his punches.
04:20He does his best work in like circular punches.
04:24He doesn't do too much straight down the pipe long ones and twos.
04:27He's got incredible hooks and uppercuts.
04:33We will check in with Doug Fisher as our night continues here.
04:37Second round of this championship fight.
04:39Gore Yuritsy in the purple with black. Aram Amir Kani in the black with white.
04:44TJ DeSantis, Pearl Gonzalez inside Commerce Casino.
04:47The sight of Hollywood Fight Nights on UFC Fight Pass.
04:55As far as shots go in that first round, I do believe Amir Kani landed a really clean overhand.
05:04Or a left hook, excuse me.
05:06That opened the eyes of Gore.
05:09And you kind of see him in his corner just really thinking about everything and kind of calculating.
05:14So let's see the adjustments the champion makes in this second round.
05:18And that's the key word I think Pearl.
05:20A fighter of this level and you get to the upper echelon of the championship ranks.
05:24It is all about adjusting and the adjustments that are made over the course of ten rounds.
05:28Absolutely, he did a phenomenal job of putting Amir Kani on the ropes there and landing some shots.
05:34Freezing him for just a second and landing a beautiful combination.
05:37Amir Kani firmly planted with his two feet in the center of the ring.
05:52Clean, both of these gentlemen are clean.
05:56I like Gore's work, I like his movement, his feints that he's throwing in here.
06:01He's disrupting the range in between his combinations and that is great.
06:06That is a great way to offset your opponent.
06:13Ooh, big left hand.
06:16He's fast, TJ.
06:22Beautiful body work there.
06:29Ooh.
06:37Two minutes down here in round number two.
06:41It's good work from the champs this round here.
06:48You can see both of these men, Pearl, really planted with their punches, throwing with a lot of power.
06:53You got to really respect both of the action being thrown each other's way.
06:58You can't really be content with eating any unnecessary shot because it could be the one that puts you down.
07:03Both gentlemen are fighting such an intelligent fight tonight thus far.
07:07Very calculated, understanding of their ranges here, their power.
07:11Landing, both are landing great shots.
07:15I mean this is a chess match here.
07:19And Tom talked about that, Tom talked about how tough this fight was going to be
07:23and how difficult this is a task for either one of these gentlemen.
07:30It's funny you mentioned chess match.
07:33That was one thing Ram Mirkhanian actually said he enjoyed was playing chess.
07:37Didn't let us have much, but did say he liked to play chess.
07:40And now he is in a strategic battle here as we are through two rounds in our Komen event.
07:46Again, championship stakes.
07:48The WBC Continental Americas welterweight title hangs in the balance.
07:52Of course, VIPs are in attendance here tonight.
07:56Estevan Oriol, the photographer, Netflix special available of his.
08:00And we see Eve Mora, an actress, taking in tonight's affairs.
08:06Again, Hollywood fight nights always brings the stars out, Pearl.
08:09I mean, you're here to say the least.
08:11Oh my goodness, and what a treat we have tonight, TJ.
08:13This has been an incredible card from start to finish.
08:18Look at the champion, Gore Yuritsian.
08:21Two rounds now into his first title defense.
08:27You can see he's wearing the fights, too.
08:29You see the shots that are being landed, the power that's coming from the challenger.
08:37Round number three underway.
08:39TJ DeSantis along with Pearl Gonzalez.
08:41Doug Fisher is here as well.
08:43We are inside the Commerce Casino, the site of Hollywood fight nights.
08:46The champion, Gore Yuritsian, defending against Aram Amirkhanian.
08:50Yuritsian in the purple with black.
08:52Amirkhanian in the black with white.
08:55Amirkhanian started his training at 13 years old.
08:58He had an interesting story.
08:59He stopped boxing for the first time watching a VHS tape.
09:04And then he said he learned how much money you could make in boxing
09:08and was instantly inspired.
09:10And he said, yep, I'm going to do that.
09:12Kids born in the 2000s are like, what's a VHS tape?
09:16Oh, that's a great trade from both of these gentlemen here.
09:28Now fighting on the inside.
09:29Amirkhanian looks like a bigger fighter than me.
09:32I don't know if he does for you, but he does look like the bigger athlete tonight.
09:37Amirkhanian coming forward with that jab.
09:49Yuritsian targeting the body.
09:51Yes, doing a great job as the champion of just kind of calculating and finding his way in.
10:01Much different fight for Yuritsian.
10:04Much different fight for Yuritsian.
10:06And this one's compared to his last one.
10:08He put Randolph on a very mobile target where Amirkhanian's standing right in front of him.
10:12Yes, and I did notice that his last fight he had a man that was on his bicycle
10:17on the outside of the ring, constantly moving.
10:21And I knew that Amirkhanian did not have that kind of fight.
10:24Amirkhanian likes to be in the center.
10:26He likes to take control of the ring and be right in your face.
10:29Very little movement comes from Amirkhanian.
10:34Two minutes down in this third round.
10:36Again, scheduled for ten.
10:49Big action there as Yuritsian comes forward.
10:53Coming up on the final 30 seconds of round number three.
10:55Pearl, is this the fight you expected to be here through almost three rounds?
10:59When you get to this level, absolutely.
11:01It's a chess match.
11:02Both gentlemen are intelligent.
11:04They're very aware of their range.
11:06Both have power.
11:08Both can stay cool and collected in big moments.
11:12So, absolutely, this is a good fight.
11:14Both can stay cool and collected in big moments.
11:16So, absolutely, this is a good fight.
11:18Fighting for the center of the ring, absolutely.
11:20This is a fantastic fight.
11:21It might not be as exciting as you may want it,
11:23but it's an incredibly intelligent fight.
11:25As you mentioned, it is a tactical battle, a human chess match.
11:29If you will.
11:31And, you know, fans of the sport, they're looking forward to this.
11:34And this is a good fight.
11:35And, you know, fans of the sport, they're looking forward to this.
11:38And this is a good fight.
11:39It is a tactical battle, a human chess match, if you will.
11:42And, you know, fans of the Sweet Science,
11:44I think they're enjoying what they're seeing.
11:46Let's take a look at the replay, walk us through.
11:48Yes, look here, we have Gore, who did a great job of,
11:50just, he gets in and gets right out of the way.
11:53Landed a beautiful right hand there,
11:57but Americana had very little movement,
11:59back right to the center of the ring and ready to trade.
12:03Inside the corner of the champion,
12:05Gore Yuritsy and Freddie Roach,
12:08giving him instructions.
12:09We'll see what sort of adjustments the champion makes.
12:13Let's check in with Doug Fisher,
12:14who is our unofficial scorekeeper here ringside.
12:18Yeah, I think these are very close rounds.
12:20I do agree with Pearl, the best punch landed
12:23in the opening round did come from Americana.
12:25He's very economical with his punching.
12:28I think he needs to apply a little bit of pressure,
12:31just up his volume, just a tiny bit.
12:33And I think he can at least be on par with Yuritsyan.
12:36I think he's on par with Yuritsyan,
12:37but I scored the first three rounds for Yuritsyan.
12:40He's just a little bit busier,
12:41and I love that right hand to the body.
12:43You were on point, Doug,
12:45when you said you might have your hands full
12:46with this fight being a tactical one,
12:49and very close as round four is underway.
12:56I like that the pace is changing there.
12:59I can see both fighters are making adjustments
13:00around this fourth.
13:03And Pearl, while Doug has it,
13:05three rounds to none for Gori Yuritsyan.
13:06I don't think either man can really feel super confident
13:09that they're ahead of the judges' scorecards.
13:10No, but I do agree with him here,
13:13with the champion being ahead in this fight.
13:16I do think he's landing a little bit,
13:18he's a little busier, as he said.
13:20He's landing some great shots here.
13:24But Americana is not far behind,
13:26and he has the power and the ability
13:29to take it to be a one punch and change the fight.
13:35Yeah, we've seen that here tonight
13:36in some of our previous fights.
13:38It only takes one punch to turn the momentum upside down,
13:41and we know that Americana has the ability to do just that.
13:45But Yuritsyan, he's being smart,
13:48moving evasively on the outside.
13:50Yes, I think that Americana is pressing the pace
13:53a little bit and coming forward,
13:55which is amazing and great for him.
13:57But it seems that Gore is actually fighting
14:00a better fight with the chaos.
14:01Once there's more chaos,
14:03he's doing a great job of finding angles.
14:04He's got fantastic movement, great counter shots.
14:12Just past the halfway point of round number four.
14:17You talked about them being former teammates, Pearl.
14:20I mean, how much of that do you think is informing
14:22the way this fight is unfolding?
14:24I mean, they both know each other,
14:26they know each other's demeanor,
14:27especially if they've traveled the world together,
14:29they understand each other's demeanor.
14:32But it's been so long.
14:34These are two completely different men
14:36when they were together in their amateur career.
14:38So, you know, I think that they're both
14:41still figuring each other out.
14:42They still don't know as much as they thought they knew,
14:46I'm sure, and it's kind of cool to see
14:48which one makes more progress in this time.
14:5245 seconds remain here at round number four.
14:58Get out, get out, get out, get out, get out, get out, get out!
15:09See a lot of fainting from both men,
15:11trying to get a reaction before they throw their shots.
15:21The champion does a fantastic job of applying pressure
15:24without really releasing too much energy at all.
15:28He uses his feints, he uses short movement
15:31to apply pressure and to get his opponent to think
15:34and breathe differently and hold his breath a little bit,
15:37and that's incredible.
15:39That's why he's champion.
15:40Four rounds down in our championship
15:43co-main event for Yuritsian.
15:45Taking on Aram Amirkhanian.
15:52And the VIPs in the house tonight,
15:56Steven Amaro taking in the action.
16:09Now in the corner of the champion for Yuritsian,
16:13taking advice from his coach in Freddie Roach.
16:19Take a look at some of the action
16:20of that last round.
16:26Great shot there, landed by the champion.
16:34In the corner there of Amirkhanian,
16:36round number five about to get underway.
16:44I think the movement of the champion
16:46has really kind of set them apart in this fight.
16:48Both men are landing great shots, both have power.
16:52Both are playing a chess match,
16:54but Gore's movement just seems to be a step ahead.
16:59He's able to get in and out and utilize his angles
17:03and pivots to kind of get out of the way
17:06of Amirkhanian's opponents.
17:11In this our co-main event,
17:12WBC Continental America's welterweight title
17:15is on the line.
17:16It will give way to our main event
17:18as Omar Trinidad defends his WBC
17:21Continental America's featherweight title.
17:24BJ DeSantis, Pro Gonzales, Doug Fisher
17:25live tonight inside Commerce Casino.
17:28Appreciate you joining us live on UFC Fight Pass
17:31for Hollywood Fight Nights.
17:43Richie doing a great job with his movement,
17:45with his pressure, without throwing and throwing big shots
17:49and creating big movements,
17:50but doing a great job of getting Aram to think,
17:53getting Aram to kind of hesitate
17:55in some of these moments here.
17:57And it goes back to just these short feints,
18:00these little movements that the in and out of Gore,
18:05it's fantastic.
18:09And there has been, you know, a lot of action,
18:11but no one getting overzealous,
18:12no one getting so aggressive
18:14that they leave themselves open.
18:16No, and that's the discipline
18:17that comes from high-level boxers
18:20because they know that when you overcommit
18:22or you get overzealous, as you said,
18:25there's a price to pay for that.
18:29And you know, at this high level of striker,
18:32one tiny mistake and all of a sudden
18:34you're waking up on the mat.
18:36Absolutely, and both gentlemen can land.
18:38I mean, our champion has 12 knockouts.
18:44Gore has 14 knockouts.
18:46So the champion has the power and ability
18:50to cut the lights out.
18:52Referee imploring Yuritsy to bring that body shot higher.
18:57Said that multiple times tonight,
18:58taking this lane a little bit south of the belt.
19:05Now Yuritsy getting a little more aggressive,
19:07taking the center of the ring.
19:09As he should, I think that he's got Aram thinking right now.
19:14He's got Aram, I wouldn't say necessarily hesitating,
19:17but he does have him kind of unsure.
19:21He's trying to figure out this puzzle here.
19:23And you can see he's not as aggressive
19:26or as confident as he was in the earlier rounds, Amir is.
19:29So great job by Gore to kind of get Aram to think.
19:39Oh, nice right hand stumbles Amir Khanian.
19:43At the end of the fifth round,
19:45we are officially at the halfway point
19:48of this championship fight.
19:51Nice bit of action turned in by Gore Yuritsy.
19:53You got to believe his confidence is definitely boosted
19:57after the closing sequence of that round.
19:59Pearl walk us through some of the action.
20:00Yes, and it was the right hand that landed.
20:02It was beautifully and perfectly timed and placed.
20:07Took him completely off balance there.
20:09Again, Gore doing a fantastic job
20:11of offsetting Aram's rhythm here tonight.
20:14Offsetting, getting him to think
20:15and taking him off balance with that beautiful right hand.
20:20Got to believe the confidence is growing
20:22for the champion in Gore Yuritsy.
20:24And as we look at his corner,
20:26the Hall of Fame coach, Freddie Roach.
20:28All right, Doug Fisher,
20:30how do you see it at the halfway point?
20:32You know, I thought Amir Khanian had a good fourth round
20:35for the first half of that round.
20:37I thought he applied effective aggression.
20:40Gore came back and landed his shots
20:41in the second half of that round.
20:43I thought Amir Khanian's first part of the fourth round
20:45was enough to score that round for him, 10-9.
20:48But Gore Yuritsy came right back like a champion does
20:51and won the fifth round decisively.
20:55Now on to the second half of the fights.
20:59Pearl Gonzales, we saw Yuritsy in business
21:02in the latter part of that fifth round.
21:05Really sort of rattled and stumbled Amir Khanian.
21:09You think that the momentum is firmly on his side?
21:13It is, I think he's doing a great job.
21:14I think his right hand to the body
21:15has played a lot of dividends
21:17along with those feints and the movement.
21:19And you can see here though,
21:20Aram so far is doing a great job of adjusting
21:23and throwing his left hand to the body.
21:26And I think that's kind of offsetting Gore.
21:28He wasn't throwing that straight shot down the pipe
21:31early on in this fight.
21:33But as Aram gets more aggressive,
21:36Gore is able to capitalize on that
21:38with his movement and his range.
21:43Oops.
21:54The right hand thrown by the champion, Gore Yuritsy.
22:01Different posture here from Amir Khanian
22:03in the sixth round, Pearl.
22:04He's kind of shelling up and getting some different looks,
22:08giving some different looks to the champion and Yuritsy.
22:12Yes, he's got to make adjustments
22:13because I don't think it's a...
22:15He's winning these rounds the way he has been fighting
22:18and he's doing a great job.
22:19He's a little more aggressive here.
22:23Beautiful combinations landed there by the challenger.
22:28That's his best work, those circular punches,
22:30those round punches, the hooks.
22:34He's able to get the champion planted right now.
22:37And that's big for him.
22:39Aram does his best work when he can land on you.
22:44And he's powerful.
22:45He's fast and he's very powerful.
22:47Gore has to get back on his bike,
22:49get back to his movement, his feints,
22:53and get Aram thinking again.
22:58Just like that.
22:59That was beautiful.
23:00Final 45 seconds here in the sixth round.
23:03In scheduled for 10, the Sarcoma event.
23:06WBC Continental America's welterweight championship
23:09hanging in the balance.
23:16Definitely more aggressive here is Aram Amirkhanian.
23:21He is, he did a great job.
23:22When he mixes up his combinations,
23:25he puts more than three punches together.
23:27He mixes up his rhythm.
23:29He does really well and he will find a lot of success.
23:31But what Gore is doing right now
23:33is he's offsetting that rhythm.
23:34He understands that he's going to come
23:37back for the couple of shots and then take a break.
23:37He's throwing immediately after Aram's combinations.
23:41And that is really helping Gore out.
23:45Six rounds down in our championship co-main event.
23:51Back in the corner with the champion, Gore Yuritsy.
23:54Let's take a look at some of the action there
23:56from round number six.
23:57Pearl walks through.
23:58Here, Gore landed another great right hand here.
24:01I mean, he's so much intentions behind his strikes here.
24:05But Aram, right here, going to the body,
24:07throwing those beautiful looping punches
24:10that he does so well.
24:11And he had Gore in the corner here for a second.
24:13And he did a great job of kind of unloading
24:15in these moments.
24:17Sir, hi, Boa Chuck.
24:20The WBC Super Welterweight Interim World Champion
24:24being treated to a great co-main event here tonight.
24:26We've seen him shine on UFC Fight Pass in the past.
24:31Tonight, we've seen a lot of great boxing action.
24:35We're not done yet.
24:36Round number seven in our co-main about to get underway.
24:43DJ DeSantis along with Pearl Gonzalez.
24:45Seventh round underway.
24:47Gore Yuritsy, the champion defending against Aram Amirkhani.
24:54Great opening, oh, great opening combination
24:57for the champion there.
24:58But Aram all over him right now.
25:01Applying the pressure,
25:04closing the space between them.
25:06And that was a problem that I did see with Gore
25:08in his last fight is he was tying up a lot constantly.
25:11You can see that he's made adjustments
25:13and he's learned from his mistakes in that last fight,
25:16keeping his range.
25:17But Aram, as you can see, trying to make some changes
25:21in this fight here to come forward.
25:24Amirkhani definitely a lot more aggressive
25:26in the last couple of rounds coming forward,
25:28trying to corner the champion,
25:30but Yuritsy able to fight his way out of the corner.
25:36Combination of punches there by Amirkhani.
25:39Going to the body, answered by Yuritsy right hand.
25:42Beautiful right hand, left hook from Gore.
25:49But you're right, he's cornering now.
25:51Aram is able to apply the pressure
25:54and get Gore on the ropes.
25:55You know, Gore's doing a great job of stopping,
25:58planning, and moving, planning and moving.
26:13Now in the clinch, referee separating them.
26:17Halfway point of round number seven.
26:20So Aram is doing a fantastic job with the pressure,
26:23but Gore is doing a fantastic job as well
26:27of utilizing when Aram goes to strike
26:30to get out of the way.
26:31So he'll pull him, he's pulling right now.
26:34And then as soon as he starts to throw,
26:36he does a great job of moving right out of the way
26:38and getting off of those ropes.
26:49You mentioned the size of Amirkhani,
26:51and he definitely does look to be the bigger of the two men,
26:55but Yuritsy, maybe a little bit faster
26:57in the speed department.
26:58Yes, he is, he's faster.
27:00He's got better movement and footwork
27:03in this fight tonight.
27:05Oh, beautiful.
27:08Action starting to pick up here
27:10in the final 30 seconds of round number seven.
27:13The movement of Gore is what's really setting him apart
27:16in this fight is the movement,
27:17because he's just doing a great job
27:19of kind of guiding and leading Aram
27:22into wherever he wants to go.
27:24He's pulling Aram, and Aram thinks he's coming forward,
27:26but in reality, Gore is the one
27:28that's deciding where this fight goes.
27:34And Aram's got a lot of power,
27:36and he's got a lot of power in the middle of the fight.
27:38He's got a lot of power in the middle of the fight.
27:41Oh, no.
27:45Seven rounds in the books.
27:47Championship co-main event underway.
27:51Phenomenal fight thus far.
27:53Hall of Fame coach Freddie Roach
27:55getting in the corner of his charge and Corey Yuritsy.
27:57Such a great fight.
27:58I am wearing this fight, TJ.
28:00I got sweat on my hands.
28:01Umar Jumbekov, he's a guy who's put the fight
28:05on many a people inside this ring.
28:08We see Bob Shapiro, attorney at law.
28:12You know Robert Shapiro, right?
28:14Back in the day, OJ Simpson.
28:17You ever hear of that guy?
28:18Yes, I have heard of that guy.
28:20He was kind of in charge of a lot of things going on.
28:22Oh, wow.
28:23He's in town tonight.
28:25Looking fancy, too.
28:26Very classy and fancy.
28:28It's Hollywood fight nights.
28:29You've got to dress the part.
28:31I agree.
28:33You mentioned you're wearing the fight.
28:34Yeah, the sweat is flying over here.
28:36All over.
28:37It's been all over my face, my arms.
28:39These gentlemen are working.
28:43Round number eight, about to get ready.
28:46Here we go.
28:50TJ DeSantis along with Pearl Gonzalez.
28:53Corey Yuritsy in the purple and black
28:55defending his WBC Continental Americas welterweight title
28:58against the challenger, Aram Amirkhani.
29:03Nice left hand.
29:04Beautiful combination from the champ.
29:08And what a great, great skill set that he's showcasing.
29:10His last fight was completely different,
29:12had a completely different set of skills in front of him.
29:15Tonight he's got Aram who is right in front of him,
29:18who's coming with bad intentions,
29:20and he's just doing a great job of adapting
29:23to either style of fight.
29:25Nice.
29:33Combination of punches by the champion, Corey Yuritsy.
29:40He's staying busy on the inside.
29:43When I asked the champion, you know,
29:44what were his goals in life?
29:45And he said, you know, I just want to live a good life.
29:49My life was very difficult in the beginning.
29:50I've worked very hard.
29:52And at the end of the day,
29:53I just want to have a good life.
29:55I asked him, what is his message to the world?
29:57He said, never stop going forward.
29:59You can change anything.
30:01If you work hard, life is hard,
30:02just never stop going forward.
30:04And I really love that quote.
30:14Now at the halfway point of round number eight.
30:17Stop.
30:23Stop.
30:32There's been an action here again.
30:33Both men undefeated in their careers.
30:37A great fight to be our championship co-main event.
30:42Amir has such great entries
30:44when he goes to get his offense off.
30:47Laser sharp, he's quick, he's in and out.
30:50He has fantastic entries.
30:54Ooh, nice right hand.
30:57Rattles the jaw of Amir Khanian.
31:0045 seconds left of the eighth.
31:04On that jab out is Yuritsian.
31:07Amir Khanian trying to cut him off in the corner.
31:10Yuritsian able to pivot out, throw some offense of his own.
31:13But again, Amir Khanian trying to put him back in the corner.
31:17He's doing such a great job
31:19of weathering the pressure storms.
31:21Or as you can see, he's just right out of the way.
31:25And then he moves, he capitalizes on your offense.
31:28It's just a beautiful performance.
31:32Two men working in the clinch.
31:33Referee separates them.
31:34Final 10 seconds of round number eight.
31:43There's combination there by Yuritsian.
31:46Eight rounds down.
31:49You know, we saw Oram very pressure packed and aggressive,
31:54but evasive and on point was a champion pro.
31:57He was, he did such a great job of utilizing his footwork,
32:00utilizing his pivots to get out of the way.
32:03Utilizing his footwork and movement
32:05to pull the challenger in and capitalize.
32:09As you can see here, look, he throws his punches
32:11just right out of the way and able to counter.
32:14Great job from the champion.
32:16Eight down, two to go.
32:18Championship co-main event underway.
32:20Doug Fisher, where are we at in your scorecard?
32:23I've got Gore Yuritsian ahead 78 to 74.
32:28Amir Khanian is making it competitive.
32:30He's won a couple of rounds, but like I stated earlier,
32:34he's a little bit too economical.
32:36He'll have a nice moment and then he'll pose long enough
32:40for Gore to nail him to the body or the head
32:42with a nice right hand.
32:43And I do think Yuritsian's lateral movement
32:47and his rhythm is causing a lot of problems for Amir Khanian.
32:50We will check in with your scorecard
32:52if we go another two rounds.
32:54Ninth round underway.
32:55TJ Xanis along with Coral Gonzalez,
32:57the aforementioned Doug Fisher
32:59inside Commerce Casino tonight.
33:00It is the site of Hollywood Fight Nights.
33:02Appreciate you joining us live on UFC Fight Pass.
33:05Amir Khanian again setting the aggressive tone here
33:16in this ninth round.
33:17But Gore Yuritsian and Pearl has just been one step ahead
33:20of the very aggressive challenger.
33:23Aggressive and strong.
33:24Yes, Amir Khanian is doing a great job in this fight here.
33:27And you know that he can just land one shot
33:29and this fight can completely change.
33:31But Gore is doing such a great job
33:34of weathering the storm, pulling and controlling the fight
33:38and getting around Amir Khanian
33:40to think that he is in control.
33:43An accidental headbutt on the right eye
33:46of the champion, Gore Yuritsian.
33:48Referee immediately saw it.
33:51Give the doctor an opportunity to look at it.
33:53He does it.
33:54We're back underway.
33:55That is a big cut.
34:02Accidental or not,
34:04you know it could have an impact on this fight.
34:06And Amir Khanian gonna try to target that cut as well.
34:12Great combination for the champ.
34:23Working on the inside here.
34:25Referee separating them, telling Yuritsian don't hold.
34:30Halfway point of the night.
34:36Oh, big left hand.
34:40Yuritsian able to get out of the corner,
34:42but again, Amir Khanian being aggressive,
34:44now working the body of the champion.
34:48Gore is just out of the way of some of these shots.
34:50Just out of the way.
34:53Amir Khanian lands a good shot
34:56and then Gore's out of the way.
34:56He's doing such a great job with his movement.
34:59And remaining composed under pressure.
35:02Remaining disciplined like a champion should.
35:08Punxton, get out of there.
35:09Let him go, let him go, Gore.
35:10Let him go, Gore.
35:11Stop, stop.
35:13Referee forced to intervene once again.
35:1545 seconds left in the night.
35:17And you can see that blood flowing
35:19from the right eye of Gore Yuritsian.
35:25Going live, getting aggressive here as the challenger.
35:2830 seconds left in the night.
35:30How much do you think that cut, Pearl,
35:31is affecting the champion?
35:33I don't, I think he's doing a great job
35:35of just staying composed
35:36and staying disciplined in this fight.
35:38I don't think he's phased at all by this.
35:41I might be more phased.
35:42Blood's splashing on me.
35:46Can't have that, you got a nice outfit on.
35:48Punxton, get out of there.
35:49Punxton, get out.
35:50Let him go.
35:50Let him go, Gore.
35:52Get out, let him go.
35:53Let him go, Gore.
35:56Stop.
35:58Stop.
36:00Nine rounds down.
36:04Obviously the major storyline of that ninth round
36:07is the cut over the right eye
36:09of the champion and Gore Yuritsian.
36:12And the trucks gonna give us another look at it.
36:14Sounds like it was actually a shoulder that caused the cut.
36:20And there it was right there.
36:21A short little shoulder.
36:25You can see that blood immediately starts flowing, Pearl.
36:27It looks as if it's already open there.
36:32Yeah, it's already open there.
36:36It had to have been earlier, I think,
36:38because the cut was already there.
36:39It might have made it bleed a little bit more.
36:42That is where the referee called it,
36:45but, you know, the champion showing composure.
36:49Doug Fisher, your thoughts
36:50as we head into this 10th and final round?
36:53You know, I think Amerikanyan did a good job
36:55of roughing Yuritsian up in that ninth round,
36:58but it didn't land a lot of clean punches.
37:00The clean scoring punches were landed by Yuritsian,
37:04often on the fly.
37:07And you're right, you're right, Doug,
37:09about him getting rough in there
37:11and making this a dogfight.
37:13That's exactly what Amerikanyan's doing.
37:15And as he should, he's gotta find another,
37:18he's gotta find a way.
37:19He's not having much success moving forward.
37:22He's not having any success going backwards.
37:27Hats off to him for trying to find an adjustment
37:29and trying to find a way to make this a dirty fight
37:31and get inside of it.
37:33Couple right hands have found a home for Amerikanyan
37:35to start this 10th round.
37:37Big hook.
37:43And while it's not been a fun night
37:45for the champion and Yuritsian,
37:47he's been able to answer the challenge of fighting
37:50and getting through a very tough fight.
37:52But now, a couple punches landing
37:54for the challenger, Amerikanyan.
37:56And above all for Gore here was,
37:58what an improvement he's made from his last fight.
38:01I mean, he looks spectacular tonight
38:02and he's made adjustments, he's made improvements.
38:05And that's what you want to see from an athlete.
38:08That's what you want to see from a fighter
38:09and a champion, that he's still growing
38:11and at a very fast pace, TJ.
38:14Absolutely, and you know, this was going to be
38:17one of the toughest, if not the toughest fights
38:20of Gore Yuritsian's career
38:21as he defends his WBC Continental Americas title
38:24for the first time.
38:25A very game challenger,
38:27stands in his way, 90 seconds left in the co-main.
38:33And you can see the difference.
38:34You can see how hard Amerikanyan hit.
38:37Gore's wearing the fight.
38:39You know, he's lumped up in this fight.
38:40Amerikanyan has great power.
38:43It was the movement that really
38:44set these two athletes apart.
38:49Oh, big right hand.
38:53Touch over a minute remains in this final round.
39:03Blood flowing from the champion's right eye.
39:06Now tied up in the clinch,
39:07referee separates him, 45 seconds left.
39:21Amerikanyan keeping the pressure on the champion,
39:2530 seconds.
39:25Oh, big shot landed from the challenger there.
39:29Way to rally through Amerikanyan.
39:31You know, coming through and trying to find some success.
39:33And he is.
39:34He's finding some success in this last round here.
39:37And both you and Doug mentioned the word rough,
39:40and that is what the challenger is doing.
39:43He's making it a rough night
39:44for the champion and Gore Yuritsian.
39:46Final few moments of this championship fight.
39:50And he's got it.
39:51He's got it.
39:52He's got it.
39:52He's got it.
39:53He's got it.
39:54He's got it.
39:55He's got it.
39:56He's got it.
39:57He's got it.
39:57He's got it.
39:59Gore Yuritsian, Aram Amerikanyan.
40:02They go the distance.
40:04What a fight.
40:05Incredible fight, TJ.
40:07They both, what a calculated, intelligent war
40:12we just got to see.
40:14Beautiful, beautiful performance from both fighters.
40:16Great adjustments made in this fight.
40:18Movement, I mean, there was just so many fantastic things
40:20that you can take away from both fighters.
40:24Doug Fisher, 10 rounds in the books.
40:27How does your scorecard look?
40:2997, 93 for Gore Yuritsian.
40:32He won clearly, but he had to earn this fight.
40:35What started out as a chess match
40:38became very physical down the stretch.
40:40And I thought that Amerikanyan got enough in
40:44in that 10th and final round to win that round,
40:47but it wasn't enough.
40:50For most of the fight,
40:51Gore Yuritsian was the ring general in there.
40:53And that was his lateral movement,
40:56his timing, that right hand to the body,
40:58right hand to the head,
40:59his ability to punch while moving,
41:01punch on the fly, as the old timer said.
41:03And I think that's a fight you wanted to see
41:05from two undefeated fighters with championship stakes.
41:08The champion, he had to earn it tonight.
41:11Didn't earn it, I think he did.
41:13Absolutely.
41:14Look at that cut, that cut was nasty.
41:15I mean, it's a pretty deep cut.
41:18He did a great job of not allowing for that to get in his way
41:22and not allowing for it to take away
41:23from any of his game plan tonight
41:28and his work.
41:29It was an incredible performance from both gentlemen,
41:32but I do believe Gore shined
41:33and he has improved tremendously since his last fight.
41:37What did you learn about Gore Yuritsian tonight
41:40in this fight, Pearl O'Connell?
41:41I learned that he can handle pressure.
41:44He can pull you.
41:45He can control the fight from any different angle,
41:48any different range.
41:49Either he's pressing forward, if you're pressing forward,
41:52if you're aggressive, he stays in control.
41:54He remains disciplined and his movement,
41:57his movement was just so calculated tonight.
42:00So minimal yet efficient and successful.
42:04Well, you gotta believe that the opportunities
42:06that await him, it's fights like this
42:09that make him ready for those big fight night opportunities.
42:12Absolutely.
42:12And he handled himself and carried himself so well
42:15in a co-main event, knowing all of the pressure
42:18and all of the opportunity that lies on the other side
42:21of this fight tonight and his performance.
42:24Just a great job overall to perform under pressure.
42:29And the challenger, Aram Amirkhanian,
42:30he brought the fight to Gore Yuritsian,
42:33did everything he could to make it a rough night
42:36for the champion, cutting him open over that right eye.
42:40And you can see him wearing the fight as well,
42:42swollen underneath his right eye.
42:44All right, judges have tallied their tens and nines.
42:47To make this one official,
42:49we go inside the ring to Matthew Perrino.
42:54Ladies and gentlemen, let's have a hand
42:58for these two incredible warriors.
43:02After 10 rounds of action,
43:07we go to the judges scorecards for decision.
43:11Judge Zachary Young scores the contest, 94-96 Aram.
43:18Judge Carla Kai scores the contest, 96-94 Yuritsian.
43:24And Judge Eddie Hernandez scores the contest, 94-96.
43:30In favor for the winner by split decision,
43:35and the WBC Continental America's
43:43welterweight champion, Aram Amirkhanian.
43:46Aram Amirkhanian.
43:50A split decision win for the new champion,
43:54Aram Amirkhanian, able to upset Gore Yuritsian.
44:00He gets his hand raised as well as the WBC
44:04Continental America's welterweight championship
44:07wrapped around his waist.
